Vern at New Dawn Awning helped us out with a problem with the city even though we were the second owner after the patio cover was installed over 5 years ago .The patio cover was installed perfectly.
It was a paper work problem he got fixed for us.
He went to bat for us big time!

New Dawn Awning was by far the best contracting experience I hope to always have. Vern was an awesome guy to work with and his sense of humor made the whole process enjoyable! I was even having problems with another contractor at the same time and Vern would even take the time to consult me on how to deal with that contractor since I hadn’t had a lot of experience dealing with contractors. Vern was always prompt on his appointments and always went out of his way to make sure you were happy.
Their workers were also very professional and courteous. They were quick, efficient, respectful, and always cleaned up after themselves. In the end their quality and workmanship were second to none and we are very pleased and happy with our patio cover. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. If I ever have to get another patio cover done, he’s got my business for life!

I don’t know where to begin– so let me start by saying IF YOU NEED A PATIO COVER… STOP LOOKING! YOU HAVE FOUND THE COMPANY! Get on their busy calendar. This company is beyond exceptional. They were a referral from our neighbor. I typically get several bids for big purchases like this, but this was an exception. After meeting the owner and getting a bid we were sold, no more bids necessary. He was genuine and didn’t try to upsell us on anything, in fact he told us what we shouldn’t spend our money on. Really?!? Does that ever happen?
Fast forward to the day of the installation. Crew arrived on time. SUPER nice guys! They had great attention to detail and made sure all my needs and wants were met perfectly. They even installed a BIG outdoor fixture I made (pics to follow). Exceeded my expectations! They worked ALL day long and stayed late so the Big job would be installed in just one day. Happy homeowner to say the least! They cleaned up their mess beautifully and left us with a beautiful new outdoor living space!

But even beyond great work, great pricing, patience, friendly, and expert team… New Dawn Awning actually stands behind what they do! TWO YEARS after installing my large patio cover, I came across a big problem, not with my actual patio cover and not at the fault of New Dawn Awning. So I called up Vern to ask him if he could help me with a special problem. Not only did he come out quickly to take care of my special request in two visits, but at no charge to me — and he did not have to do that! If you are on the fence about who should build your cover, I can tell you that you will be «covered» by going with New Dawn Awning. Having a company that will be there years later in case something is needed is a rare find these days. We are very happy we went with New Dawn Awning and we are very happy with our patio cover. In the last 6 months I have worked with numerous construction contractors ranging from pool installation companies to child gates installers, concrete installation companies to landscapers. Unlike every other company I have dealt with recently, New Dawn Awning Co. was headache and trouble free.
After getting quite a few bids from other contractors I just happened to be at a friends residence and saw their newly installed awning. After talking with my friend he reffered me to New Dawn Awning Co. The following day I gave Vern a call and we set up an appointment to meet. Vern came out in a timely manner, on time and well prepared with samples. Following our conversation Vern furnished me with a phenomenal bid price. Seeing his work at my friends house along with the bid price, I signed on the dotted line without hesitation.
A day or two later Vern sent over the plans along with all paperwork necessary to submit to Serrano HOA. After no issues with the paperwork or plans, I received the approval from the HOA and called Vern giving him the news. Vern then immediately submitted the plans to the County and a few weeks later called me back stating the plans had been approved. We agreed to install the following Monday morning. The crew of three showed up to my house at 8:00AM sharp and got right to work. Thinking it was going to be a three day minimum install, I was informed it would only take one day. The crew worked to no avail and completed the entire project including cleanup by 1:30PM. The crew was clean, professional and pleasant to deal with. During the install, Vern also showed up to assure everything was up to par.
IF LOOKING TO HAVE AN AWNING INSTALLED, LOOK NO FURTHER. THIS IS THE ONE!!!

We had a new awning installed by New Dawn Awning company a few weeks ago. We love the awning and the new space it’s created. We use the patio in the mornings and the evenings now and are very happy with the product. Everyone we encountered at New Dawn was pleasant and easy to work with. A few months back my wife and I were in search of a quality patio that could cover well over 50 ft of real estate. We visited the home show at cal expo and came across two builders. One (let’s call them Frivolity First) which bum rushed us with a sales pitch that rivaled that of Oxi Clean. The other, New Dawn Awning, a relaxed group of guys who let their pictures of workmanship speak for themselves. We set appointments for each and to my disappointment the first company we met with gave us a quote of over $ 37,000 for the type of work we were looking for. Their main reason for the high cost: the super high quality product they put out. Unfortunately for them they didn’t provide us with any samples of these so called «high quality» materials and could only point to three online pictures and big adjectives to prove it. Furthermore, the person that met with us wasn’t even a builder or contractor so he couldn’t answer questions about the project. I think he spent more time scratching his head, and sending text messages and pictures to a builder than with us.
Next, New Dawn Awning. Right off the bat, Corey came with multiple samples of their material along with colors, lots of pictures, and a boat load of knowledge on how he would build the patio based on code and what would look the best. The kicker was when he said the project would cost less than a third of our first appointment… Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?! He was a little surprised at our reaction, but when I told him what was offered previously he too was just as surprised. Up until the project began, I was skeptical because of how good of a price he offered, but when he arrived with only one other person and erected an amazing patio in 10 hrs, I was sold. These guys are legit.

New Dawn is the best!
We had a few companies come out and bid on our patio cover. Vern was easy to talk to and answered all of our questions. He was patient with us from start to finish. He did give the best quote and he’s the neighborhood favorite for awnings, but these were not the reasons we hired him. We hired him because we never once got the feeling that we were just another job, and because of the level of professionalism and respect in our dealings. We are happy we did!
We got a courtesy call to remind us of the appointment. On the day of, the crew showed up right on time. They were polite and took their shoes off when they came in the house. They were quick and cleaned up well after.

Last year we had to cut down 8 coastal redwoods that lined our small yard and provided much shade and privacy as they were getting too big for our yard and the roots were burrowing under our foundation. Since then we have felt very exposed in our backyard with little privacy and minimal shade. So this year we decided to get a patio cover to extend the built-​in cover that came with the house.
We contacted three companies based on their Unilocal reviews and ratings and had each come out to provide an estimate. Of the three companies, Vern at New Dawn Awnings had the lowest estimate by several hundred dollars. The patio cover we were looking to get wasn’t very large (approx. 7′ x 24′) so saving a few hundred dollars was a decent percentage of the overall price. But it wasn’t only the lower price that convinced us to go with New Dawn Awnings. Of the three guys that came out, Vern seemed the most ‘down to earth’ and less of a ‘salesman’. I felt he not only knew what he was talking about, but actually had personal experience installing himself — so I knew that what he was telling me was coming from hands-​on knowledge.
The worst part of the job was waiting for our HOA to meet and approve our application for the work, but once that was done Vern was ready with the building permit and supplies to do the job a few days later. The actual install only took about 4 hours and from what I can tell went very smoothly. There were a couple times that the installer asked us question’s to clarify something (placement of the poles, location of the downspout, quirkiness of our cement pad, etc.) and I was glad that they took the time to ask rather than make an assumption.
In the end we love the patio cover and are already spending much more time in the backyard than before. It provides just the right amount of shade without feeling overwhelming. I highly recommend New Dawn Awning.

There are a lot of patio cover companies in the area. We had several come out and bid on our backyard project. New Dawn was the friendliest with the most reasonable price. They completed the project expediently and the overhang looks fantastic! We have since referred them to two other neighbors who had the same great experience. Vernon and Steve are the best!

Just finished our large patio cover from New Dawn Awning. it is beautiful and adds so much living space to our home. We will be able to use the area in all types of weather.
We were skeptical about aluminum that looks like wood, but that is not an issue. A plus will be no maintenance!

We discovered New Dawn at Sacramento’s Lawn and Garden expo. We were initially attracted to a base-​line aluminum that looks like wood patio cover with a solid roofing to keep out the rain. But we were really happy with the owners flexible schedule, willingness to come out and give quotes and create a product we liked for our home. We ended up getting an all-​weather style patio awning on one side, a more traditional pergola with slats on the other side and a small pergola with a screen to put near our spa. The neighbors were impressed with the first two, but I assume very upset they won’t see our spa action any longer.
The construction was fast and the workers were friendly and English-​speaking. I’m really impressed with how the aluminum looks just like stained wood, even close up. Some of the photos in the company’s look book seem suspect… I mean, I don’t live in an RV, so I don’t need a trailer park patio cover. But the finished product is so great and super classy.

This is the best Patio cover company ever! I love, love love my new patio cover!
