Freedom Christian School

We moved to the area at the beginning of 2014 and started my son at school here. We’d moved from a smaller Christian school a few hours away, and have been very pleased with our choice of Freedom Christian school. I like the curriculum the teachers use, I love that they have chapel, the buddy system (older buddy matched with younger buddy) helps build unity in the school. It’s a small school, and now my younger son just started kinder so I have 2 kids here. It’s pretty neat to walk along with my boys and have the high schoolers say hi to them and know them by name. It’s not a flashy school, but they are keeping up with technology advancements, and the sports program is great. I’m very pleased with the balanced way my boys are taught, they are advancing rapidly in knowledge and the teaching method seems very balanced. The school is Christ centered, which is the environment I want my boys to be in. The cost is very affordable, as far as private schools go, and the fundraising is quarterly. As another poster mentioned, you have the choice to pay the fundraising fee or your kids can sell whatever is selling for that quarter. As a parent who is currently sending my kids here, and has a few more that will attend when they’re old enough, I’m completely happy & satisfied with our experience here, and grateful for the teachers who give whole-​heartedly of their time to my kids.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, that’s what Unilocal is all about. I am basing my rating on the RESULTS. This will be our second school year. I was very happy with the class size last year in kindergarten (10 students to one teacher), the citizenship, discipline, discipleship, academics & stewardship they learned. They buddy up a younger child with an older one to promote mentorship & camaradarie. I don’t attend church there because that’s not a preaching style & docterine I care for but to each their own. I didnt think the amount of fundraising was excessive. EVERY school must fundraise these days. They give you the option to pay a quarterly amount or hawk the goods. I thought the teaching abilities were excellent. The quality of sports & extra curricular activities were decent. The grounds are decent. The classrooms are decent. The teaching materials & textbooks are decent. The cost is reasonable. I see that people here love Jesus Christ. They are working together here with me to teach my child the Love of Jesus Christ. Those are the things that matter to me. So why not 5*? The drinking fountain next to the playground doesnt work, there isn’t a full time custodian, there is some favoritism among the staff & Principal for certain families & students. They used to do daycare on the campus & don’t now & whenever I ask anyone about it they shiver & walk away. This is a relatively small school & they are in the business to educate & make money. Like I said, I’m very happy with what I’ve seen in my child. That’s all that counts for me.
