Fair Oaks Summer Concerts In the Park

As a Fair Oaks resident, I have always loved going to these concerts. But the last time I went (in July), I was offended by the behavior of the crowd. I was sitting with a group where the ‘f’ word was being constantly used. Some of the crowd looked a little ‘rougher’ then I remembered. And on the playground, the kids seemed rude. With no parental supervision some of the kids ran wild and were not polite. It was not a safe place for younger toddlers.

Great entertainment and wonderful music, a play ground, food, drinks and popcorn all for a dollar each. I’ve come with my family for the past 5 years we bring our own food or eat nearby. Come bring your own chairs, blankets and dance the night away. It starts at 7 each Thursday night.

This is a wonderful series of events in an outstanding homey community. It doesn’t get much better than sitting out on a beautiful lawn with hundreds of families listening to excellent live music and enjoying snacks and goodies from the local vendors. Fair Oaks is one of my very favorite places to go each summer.

For the past 4 or 5 years I have enjoyed the Thursday night concerts put on by Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce starting in June each year. Nice variety of music genre and performers. I must tell you about this seasons opening band, Todd Morgan & the Emblems (they opened last season too). If you get the chance to see this band you gotta go. What a refreshing style and show this band puts on. The showmanship by front man, Todd Morgan, is amazing, as is his voice. Their song choices themselves are great too, many 50’s Rock & Roll, and if you love great Rock & Roll piano you’ll NOT be disappointed. They play tunes from 60’s, 70’s and other eras as well in Blues, Rock, and Pop genre. They also perform many originals written by Todd, that have exciting, rhythms, beats and whatever else it takes, oh yeah, great lyrics! They covered the Michael Jackson song, Billy Jean, and Todd has some serious dance moves too! What makes this band and Todd so great, is its believability and musicianship.
