Went three weeks ago for happy hour. Nice bar but small. Bartender was wonderful as was the hostess. She spoke German and I enjoyed using mine, she was kind to not make fun of my rusty German, I ordered a martini and my friend a spicy margarita, both drinks were delicious, my martini was the three berry martini, very good. We ordered the truffle fire and the baby spinach with crab, shrimp and scallop. The only problem with the dish was when it was completed I wanted more, it was good. The dressing had a little too much dill however and I wish I had ordered it on the side. It looked like a great place for a romantic dinner and if the two items I had were an indication of the food a full meal would be worth it.

Our family absolutely loves going to Duling-Kurtz for celebratory dinners. The food, service, and ambiance never disappoint. During our most recent visit we had the pleasure of being waited on by Amy who’s energy and kindness enhanced our experience. The food is mouthwatering but Amy’s enthused descriptions had us salivating in preparation for each course. Chef Damian has created a scrumptious menu that has subtle reflections of his Caribbean background. We highly recommend Duling-Kurtz– your taste buds will thank you

Horrible service. Absolutely horrible. June, jane, whatever her name is; the most arrogant, insensitive, rude server i have ever had take care of me and my family. I ordered a crab cake and what came out was a surf n turf– then, then she made me look like i was the one who was wrong.(Correction, you are obviously new to the service industry. You cant even handle a 14 top. Your manners are childish and egotistical.) You obviously cant handle an upper service atmosphere. And i will definitely be telling others not to come there) she was extremely slow, i saw her speaking to others when we should of had our drinks served. The amount of money we have spent there and that is the service we received. I am disgusted with how that place has gone down hill since our last visit because of the service.- the food itself was absolutely delicious. Steaks were cooked to perfection. I cannot complain about the food. Only the service. If you go there please request another server.

I had Thanksgiving dinner in 2015 and it was a horrible experience. Even with a reservation we waited 40 minutes. My mom is 91 and the foyer was so crowded it was hard to find her a seat. The hostess was completely useless. The service during the meal was equally poor. The food and atmosphere were, however, stellar.

It’s certainly one of the more upscale and pricier restaurants in the region, yet for the special occasion it’s always worth it!

My husband and I were there last Saturday. We have been here before and we love their popovers with the lemon curd! We sat at the bar first. They made a great cosmopolitan. We then decided to have lunch. They insisted on carrying our drinks and remaining popovers to a table for us. We sat at a wonderful place by the window with a view of their fall garden. It was lovely. Linen napkins and tablecloth, quiet lunch, soft wonderful music and no hurrying all added to our experience. I had the caeser salad with chicken. My husband had the hamburger platter. Both well presented and delicious. I would definitely go again. Easy parking too. Circular drive so hubby can drop you off near the door. Did I mention the fire in the fireplace? Beautiful. You won’t be sorry if you decide to have a meal there.

Here tonight for an event. Staying at the inn and eating in the restaurant. The suite I stayed on was lovely(the Mary Todd Lincoln Suite). Absolutely no complaints. A lovely bottle of wine was delivered to my room within minutes of a request. The breakfast choices are a bit thin, but I’m trying to be also. All in all I would come back to the inn. No question. And the wedding? Stunning.

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Granted, you can find an equivalent steak for the half the price but what you’re paying for here is atmosphere and elegance. I’d suggest Duling-Kurtz as a meal for a special occasion. The bread-turnovers they serve before you receive your meal are mouth watering. The turnovers are served with your choice of butter or house made lemon curd. A truly unique taste. The steak(as mentioned above) was superb. Served with a peppercorn crust and drizzle, the taste is something I’ll never forget. Served with garlic, parmesan french fries(with garlic aioli) and grilled asparagus(the only entrée that is served with fries … excuse me, «frites». At restaurants like Duling-Kurtz we call them«Frites», god dammit :-) Everything was phenomenal. Don’t come here expecting to penny-pinch. You’re going to overpay for anything and everything but you’ll be satisfied with taste and experience.

I recently sent my parents to DK to celebrate a birthday. I had a lot of special requests and would have been happy if the majority of them were fulfilled(it was extremely short notice and I had huge flowers, special desserts, specific drinks to be on the table, special handling of the check, etc.) I could not be more satisfied with how everything was handled! I called a few times to make arrangements and they remembered who I was, worked with me, took notes and the evening happened PERFECTLY! My parents were sat in a completely private room, the table was set perfectly and everything was wonderful. They’ve raved about the food — even the reheated leftovers were better than anywhere else! The fantastic food and personal touches make this place exceptional.

NOT a good impression on Easter! To begin, we had to wait 25 minutes past our reservation time and the hostess was snooty/had an attitude. I personally witnessed her roll her eyes when I asked her to slow down because we had older people in our party. Then we get to the table, it isn’t set and it was pushed so close to the wall we couldn’t fit to get into our chairs. When I finally volunteered to sit back there my legs were cramped from the two table legs being pushed together and I had to basically sit with each leg wrapped around the legs of the table. So, okay no BIGGY but then we never received bread, we had to ask… our food took FOREVER!!! Im am talking 45 minutes for apps and then another hour past when we were finished with the apps. I work in a fine dining restaurant in NYC, so I know first hand all of the above is unacceptable. Absolutely ridiculous. I am beyond understanding and cut people a break because it’s a holiday and I am a server too so I know how hard it can be but this was not okay. It was so noticeable about how late the food was that people around us were even looking and asking about their food. From the bad attitude hostess, to the unorganized table and food timeframe, we will not be returning. However, the food itself was delicious. By the way, our reservation was at 2 we didn’t leave until about 530. That’s how long the food took once we sat at 230ish. We arrived early too so it was not because we were not on time. Never returning and hopefully they fix their hostesses bad attitude.

I would easily rate the DK4.5 stars, but it’s not an option. I’ve had several Christmas parties here for our office and everyone is a fan. I’ve also dined here 1−2x per year with my wife for over the past 10 years. I’m always pleased and can highly recommend the food. Why I won’t give it 5 stars is simple, the wine list is ridiculously priced and most wines miss the mark. I simply have a problem with a 3x-4x+ mark up for a bottle of wine. For instance, The Prisoner(a simple red blend which is 40 dollars at any PA state store) sells for 105 a bottle. I also saw 10 dollar Chardonnay bottles for 50 dollars. That is just too much. So, if you can skip the wine, you are fine… but for me the whole dining experience has to include a good wine to pair with food and I hope that the DK considers this and becomes more reasonable on their wine selection and pricing.

I really, really wanted to love this place. Its so close to home, it would make a ‘perfect call baby sitter & have a date night on a whim’ kinda place. On first impression, the building is historical, and ambience very classy. Our server was very courteous and helped us with our wine selection. For dinner, we got started w some Brie in a Puff pastry with Strawberry almond sauce which was delicious. Then came husband’s Filet Mignon and my Lobster crêpe. The husband was disappointed a bit. I mean the filet was good, pretty good but not outstanding. And you cant give my steak-fan husband, just a good filet. Being a seafood fan, I was happy with my dish. But slowly it started to feel a little one tone with mashed potatoes & buttered carrots not helping to cut the creaminess of the meal. A citrus would have helped. Next came the peanut butter lava cake, which was good. Only a good again. Just a good meal for $ 150? No thanks, not for me.

My boss had recommended this place for a nice dinner spot. I made a reservation for my fiancé’s birthday, but was still a little unsure of what to expect(mostly just b/c I had never heard of this place before). Needless to say, any concern I had was immediately wiped away after walking in. The atmosphere was amazing. Rather than one large dining room broken up, there are several small rooms with tables, each having it’s own unique décor. Our server was amazingly friendly and helpful. Her recommendations were spot on. They have an amazing baked brie appetizer… I highly recommend it. It was so good I got it to go for Valentine’s Day a few weeks ago. Our main courses were also delicious. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place more. Admittedly, it’s a little pricey for a random night out, but well worth it when you do go.

Duling-Kurtz is our go to spot for birthday dinners and special events. The service is always very good, and we’ve never found anything on the menu that we haven’t enjoyed. A few menu items that stand out are the Baked French Brie, Alligator Pan Seared, Caesar Salad(prepared table side), Oven Poached Butterfish & Chateaubriand. I would also recommend any specials that they are offering that evening, especially the fish specials. At one point or another we’ve tried just about all of the desserts, but the Limoncello really stands out as nice way to cap off the evening without being too rich and heavy. I would be remiss not to mention the popovers and lemon curd that are served at the beginning of the meal, which are a family recipe that has been handed down and always a highlight.

Fantastic French food. We went here for a family member’s birthday dinner last week and everything was fresh, well-portioned and perfectly executed. I had French Onion Soup to start, but I regretted not ordering something else because it is the classic version of the soup and it tasted good but ordinary. Other member’s of my dinner party really enjoyed their salads(Caesar is done tableside). My entre, the pork shank, was outstanding. Perfectly tender with a light but flavorful sauce. My wife, a picky vegetarian, really enjoyed the risotto. The service was not great(we waited 20 minutes for dessert), but even with that blemish, this place is worth the prices.

Holiday lunch with office. Delicious scallops, filet mignon, dessert. Yummy! Very quaint, pricey, country inn with fine dining. Lovely rooms. but tightly seated. Everyone loved food. boneless chicken, duck breast, schnitzel. This was our second time for lunch and it was wonderful! Highly recommend and bring your big wallet for this one!

We stayed at the Country Inn for one night. This inn is lacking in the charm that’s advertised on their website. We arrived and waited awhile to check in. We went to our room, which was nice, though the fireplace didn’t work. There several rooms open, so I don’t know why we weren’t moved. We were out anyway, so we didn’t bother asking to move. Our bathroom had mold on the outdated wallpaper. The carpet was cut too thick, so the door to the bathroom jammed as we tried to close it. Our bed was also ridiculously tiny. Maybe it was a full? We booked the room through a package with another vendor, so we didn’t get to choose. We were most disappointed in breakfast. The pastries and homemade breads were nowhere to be found. They served coffee, but not any tea, as advertised. The site boasts pictures of croissants and full tea service. Don’t hold your breath. We had grocery store sandwich bread, yogurt, and fruit. I wish we could say we dined in a nice dining room, but we didn’t. Breakfast is served in the sitting area. We hoped for a charming stay with homemade breakfast, but overall, the experience was lackluster.

We decided on the D-K house for our 4th anniversary dinner. Parking was about a 30-yard walk to the entrance — no problem. We were taken right at our reservation time. I expect this, so no bonus points are awarded for it. We were going to be seated in an inner room with a fireplace which was not lit because it was 99 degrees outside. We asked if we could be seated in the side area with lots of windows overlooking a beautiful flower garden and the host was happy to accommodate us. Our server was Scott. Not because age matters but to give a correct visual of the encounter, he was in his mid-fifties I would guess. Scott impressed us by having total command of the menu and being able to answer a question about the dessert menu including additional details of the history of a particular dessert he was asked about(Raspberry Linzertorte). More impressively he was not a snooty windbag like we have experienced at the Dilworthtown Inn on a different special occasion(that was honestly ruined by the snootiness). We chose the baked brie appetizer and split an arugula and asiago salad as our appetizer course. Delicious, and not a speck left over. My wife ordered the filet mignon as is her custom and I had the lobster crepes. My wife had no complaints about her filet(never does) and while my crepes were delicious, I felt they were slightly unsubstantial on the plate. I know lobster is expensive and this was probably a generous helping. Perhaps I expected more based on another review. The grilled zucchini and peppers on the plate were fabulous and made me wish I ate more zucchini in life. We each ordered a dessert: my wife had the crème brûlée(forgive my sloth in not locating the keys for the accents) and I had the raspberry linzertorte. Hard to get a negative comment about crème brûlée out of my wife, but I was not especially thrilled with my raspberry dessert. It had a lot of shell/crust and not much filling/flavoring. Perhaps that is to style and I just don’t know it. If that is the case then the constructive criticism is to educate the diner as to what to expect about a particular dish/dessert. All in all it was a fabulous dinner. We had a wonderful time and most definitely will be back. Scott was a particular highlight as our server and I commend him highly for his command of the menu and specials and for his absence of snooty attitude. I did not feel that the service was any slower than one would expect for fine dining. Our server appeared in a timely fashion whenever needed and we were not looking for him at any point.

My husband ordered the pheasant, I ordered the fillet Mignon. Both were wonderful as were the salads and desserts. The hot popovers before the meal with the lemon curd spread were outstanding. Gem of an inn. We will be returning :)
