History

Established in 2008.

Located in The Exeter Inn

The Exeter Inn has upheld a tradition of elegance, grace and hospitality in the center of the Phillips Exeter Academy campus. In fact, the very existence of the Inn can be traced to an act of generosity by Mrs. William Boyce Thompson and her daughter, Mrs. Anthony J. Drexel Biddle, Jr., who had The Inn built and donated to the Academy.

The original purpose of The Inn was to host and accommodate visiting dignitaries, families of students and the young ladies who came to visit Academy students. Today, The Exeter Inn serves a broader range of clientele with the same cordiality and generosity that existed when the Inn was founded.
