Description

Specialties

Cymbidium’s lush and low signature arrangements are unique in the area and are easily recognizable. Arrangements are designed to order in leaf-lined glass vases, using only premium flowers. Cymbidium focuses on sophisticated seasonal flowers such as orchids, hydrangea, ranunculus, roses, calla lilies, dahlias, anemones, and peonies, to name a few. Accents of berries, pods, and other textural elements often enhance the arrangements. We choose to exclude more common flowers such as carnations, mums, alstromeria, baby’s breath, statice, or anything dyed from our designs.

Cymbidium provides delivery to Exeter and its surrounding towns in the Seacoast area; additional locations can be arranged.

History

Established in 2005.

Located in downtown Exeter, NH, cymbidium specializes in daily floral deliveries as well as weddings and events. The boutique offers unusual and exotic fresh flowers, orchid plants, and succulents, in addition to a selection of greeting cards, gift items and handmade jewelry. Jessica Christoferson opened cymbidium floral in 2005, fulfilling her dream of creating an urban floral boutique in a small town. The boutique’s overwhelming success has allowed Jessica to expand the cymbidium family to include floral designers Theresa and Stacey. Jessica hand picks flowers and plants each week at the Boston Flower Exchange where they arrive from all over the world. In the shop, flowers are elegantly displayed in vases where customers can pick and choose stems on their own or request custom-designed arrangements or bouquets.

Meet the Business Owner

Jessica C.

Business Owner

essica first became interested in floral design while studying abroad and interning with one of London’s leading florists. After graduating from Cornell University with a degree in design, she worked for several major retail and event florists in the Chicago area. When she and her husband Mike decided to move to New England, they fell in love with the historic town of Exeter; Jessica opened cymbidium floral there in April 2005. Known for her striking color combinations & love of texture, Jessica’s signature arrangements have a distinctive quality that make them uniquely beautiful. The boutique’s overwhelming success has allowed Jessica to expand the cymbidium family to include floral designers Theresa and Stacey. Perhaps most important is the addition of Jessica’s son Cooper and daughter Ella as honorary «shop managers» and the promotion of Jessica’s mom, Marjory, from her original position as shop helper extraordinaire, to CSO (Cooper and Ella’s Supervising Officer).
