The Groom Room

I was hesitant on taking my fur kiddos there but I’m really happy I did. The owner and her staff display genuine «old Ewa Beach» Nieghbor love for all their clients. Their service is quick, very precise and she really understands different dog breeds. Chanel is a PWD, Louis is a mini Labradoodle… both received a do over from two disappointing hair cuts from another dog salon. The goal is to have both dogs sport long coats but stylish!

Two things we love about this salon most:
1. Petting and adoring Ooh La La the salon diva aka «pink poodle»
2. How fluffy and white our dog becomes. They work magic! Deshedding our husky is a hard task for anyone. Groom Room can get the most of his undercoat under control and it lasts weeks longer than any groomer. He sparkles white, and even gets his coat trimmed even.
Groom Room is always ready to slip him in last second because that’s how we work.
We highly recommend this salon to everyone!

How can an Ewa Beach company say they don’t do pit bulls? How can you ban a breed? Dog racist. I will never use them.

My Auntie’s dog loves coming here for her «spa treatments» and I love it too! The owner is awesome and treats all of her «clients» as if they were her own. I love taking pics with the owner’s dog — La La has the most unique hair cut, color and painted nails that I have ever seen! There’s a huge selection of clothes too — tutus, rain coats, fancy dresses, casual wear — I can’t get over how cute they all are and how many options are stocked! Definitely choose the Groom Room for your pet grooming!

We use them every time! They are so good to our dog Hopper! When we pick him up you can tell that he has been well cared for during his stay! Jeannine treats him with so much love! Can’t recommend this place enough!

100% 5 stars, would give 10 stars if they existed! Haha.
Disappointed to see the bad reviews here because MANY people LOVE The Groom Room! I have friends who live in town that make the trip to Ewa Beach because of how awesome Auntie Jeannine and her staff are to their clients.
I have taken all of my babies to her, been going for 6 years now. Haircuts are always cute, service is phenomenal, and the best thing is that I know my babies are loved there too. Auntie Jeannine and her staff show your babies lots of love.
A few years ago, I re-​homed a shih tzu named Wookie (I was a brand new doggie mom) and Auntie Jeannine taught me a lot about caring for his skin, eyes, ears, etc. I lost my baby, Wookie, due to a tragic accident and she showed me so much empathy and love during my heartache. My husband later surprised me with a new baby, Mozart, and we later got another baby, Musiqal. Mozart and Musiqal have been going to Auntie Jeannine since they were babies and they love it there. Poncho, our elderly dog, has also been going to Auntie Jeannine forever too.
Bottom line — I believe the reviews here don’t reflect the awesome service and love that The Groom Room truly offers.
Tip: Call ahead and make an appointment. Aunty Jeannine is very accommodating!
Auntie Jeannine (owner) refers to your babies as «kids» — love that.
Your babies always come home with bows and hankies.
Request «poodle feet,» it always keeps their feet nice and clean.

Best groomer on the island by far! I wouldn’t trust my baby to anyone else! I found them after horrible experience at Petco grooming and ever since that nightmare happened I took my dog to them and they’ve done a wonderful job I just picked my New York you up today and he looks amazing! There always very nice and professional and very courteous!

Have been taking my two Malteses there for about six years. I picked up my baby girl on Monday and the owner tells me oh btw she has a little hematoma on her neck. She insisted she had it when I brought her in I can guarantee she didn’t have it when I brought her in. The hematoma was huge for a dog her size she’s like 6 lbs, she’s still traumatized doesn’t want to be brushed, follows me everywhere. It wouldn’t have been so upsetting if they just been honest and told me if something happened, I could have probably forgiven her but to get upset with me and my questioning of what could have possibly happened… Really lady I trusted my «kids» life with you. I will never ever bring my kids there ever again and I will make it a point to let everyone I know not to trust you with their beloved pets. No stars!

As a disclaimer I want to say that I am NOT writing this out of meanness or spite but to hopefully help someone avoid the problems I had with this place. I left my dog there for almost 3 weeks because I went on a long vacation with my teenage son. I initially thought that the rate– $ 30/​day for a 20 # Jack Russell terrier. – a bit steep. But she had a large sized pen to stay in and II needed a place quickly. Also I agreed to a bath & nail clipping for an additional $ 50. I added it up before I picked her up and it should have been around $ 630. But when I picked her up they told me I owed $ 832 + I was shocked but still thought I would get an itemized bill to check out. Nothing – «we don’t do itemized bills.» So issue #s 1 & 2 – overcharged and no itemized bill. I took my dog home and she was sick. Coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargic etc. She was sick on top of the overcharges. I will not take her back anywhere near this place again. Yeah the people are nice but the other issues are just too serious to ignore.
PS– a couple of days after I posted this the owner called me and asked me why I wrote it. I thought the review was pretty self explanatory. I received a $ 12 refund for food that made my dog sick and a list – minus itemized and totaled amounts. I still can’t make it add up to the amount I was charged.

My family and I would bring our dogs here. Was very happy with the services and quality. It wasnt till after, when the Owner’s daughter which i believe her name was «Tara» whom also works in the shop was very rude to customers, complaining of clients and their pets, and so forth. As a customer, it was a complete turn off!!! To have a place of business openly talk about clients in such a negative fashion in front while other clients await for help. We no longer go there. Too bad because the owner/​mom of the company is really good.

the groom in ewa beach is a 5 star for loving and caring for your pets… ive known the owner for over 12 years… never been disappointed… her staff are all so loving and caring… cant beat there prices either… we have 4 doggies and they stay at groom room every time we leave on vacation… its a well kepted clean free of all germs place. all of our doggies come back happy and smelling clean… hats off to all of u at the groom room ewa beach hawaii!!!

I have not had any bad experiences here at the Groom Room. The only thing is I wish they were open later to accomodate those of us who work all day and would like to still have their dog groomed. But other than that, I think they’ve been great.

Wide and thorough variety of services offered here. The basics: Grooming, daycare and boarding. And so much more… Retail store, dental services, flea treatments, family photos, hair color, etc! The Groom Room offers high quality service at an affordable price. The owner and staff care about you and your «kids» on a personal level. They always have in mind what is best for your dog, appearance and health wise! While loving them up just as you do at home. Easy to make an appointment and flexible with your schedule. Have nothing but good experiences here! Support the small shops/​businesses who truly CARE about their customers. Your kid will come back to you beautiful and happy!

2^nd visit to groom room for my black shih tzu coco! we asked for a ⁵⁄₈ cut & got 5, so his hair was super short! we had spoke to the groomer, who ended not grooming him! when we picked him up his hair was sooo short, he looked bald. then after my dog wasn’t feeling good. we took him to the vet after him reaching a fever of 103 degrees. i called & asked the owner had they used anything on him. she said no, maybe it was because we were pissed that his hair cut was short & he was feeding off our energy! wtf… really…my dog has a temperature of 103.5 and is now on anti-​biotics. according to her, they don’t require that dogs come in w/shots…also i asked if where my dog waited for me, was it cleaned? she saide w/​bleach!!!
i love my coco & i had to come out of pocket $ 323 for a vet bill. now i never will return to the groom room! don’t tell me, that my dog is feeding off of my attitude b/​c i’m upset w/​his «short-​hair cut!»
we were coming all the way from aiea to ewa beach. now i will search for a compitent groomer, that doesn’t make the mistake of ⁵⁄₈^th length to 5 length as being totally different… hello!

Worst dog groomer on the island! I took our dog to the groom room and when I picked her up, her left eye was swollen shut and her right eye was very irritated. The owner said that she didn’t do it and she thought that she had an eye infection. (Sounds like she has lied to other customers as well. Read the other reviews.) Our dog was fine when I dropped her off at the groom room and you don’t develop on eye infection in a couple hours. I immediately took her to a local vet here in Kapolei and walked out with a vet bill of $ 150. Now we are putting eye drops in our dog’s eye three times a day, giving her a pill once a day and our dog has to wear the cone of shame so she doesn’t irritate her eyes any more than they already are. We also have to take her back to the vet in 5 – 7 days (Thanksgiving weekend) to make sure the scratch, cut, irritation, etc. doesn’t get infected. Not sure how much that will cost us. I would not recommend this groomer to anyone! Please reference the photo I posted of our poor dog with her eye shut wearing the cone of shame!

This place is in the parking lot behind 7 – 11 next to ewa phở.
Been taking my shih tzu here every month for a year now. No complaints and very satisfied with their consistency of excellent service and results.
Their boarding is also excellent. They even let you call jus to check up on your pet. My dog always comes home happy and even is happier when he knows were there for his usual groom.
Prices are very good for both grooming and boarding.

I haven’t written a review in a while and I think The Groom Room is the perfect place for me to write a review.
I have been taking my brother (my dog) to the Groom Room for four years. Originally, the Groom Room was located in the Ewa Beach Shopping Center. Now they are in a little shopping strip mall past Bank of Hawaii which I think is a better location. There is nothing worse than trying to walk you dog to your car in a busy shopping center.
The Groom Room is hard to miss if you can’t find it. Just look for all the cute dogs walking around the parking lot and you know you’re in the right place.
Anyhow, after four years of taking my brother to the Groom Room I’am still impressed as day one. They always cut my brothers hair just the way I want it. All you have to do is tell the cashier how you want your dog to look and in 2 – 3 hours later your dog will look like they went on an America’s Next Top Model transformation. When your dog is ready for pick up, the Groom Room will call you and say your child is ready for pick-​up. Not dog, or pet, they use the word child. The owner Jeannine is the nicest groomer I have ever meet. She brings her daughters (dogs) to work with her and when you see them you know you’re in the right place. Her daughters are clean cut and have pink hair. How awesome is that?!?
Saturday is the busiest day for the Groom Room. You have to drop off your pet between 8:00 A.M.-10:00 A.M. I suggest you try and aim for a weekday.
The only negative downside is that it is expensive. But, isn’t it worth it? If you spend over 50 dollars a month looking good on yourself, shouldn’t your dog look just as good as you?

First off, I am writing this review not out of spite, nor to negatively bash, but to share our personal experience, in hopes to inform those who read this. We’ve been going to The Groom Room for a while now, taking our dog for grooming on a quarterly basis. The first few experiences were just as reviewed, very good, personable and professional. As our visits went on, we noticed that our dog started to act differently. She would whine and cry before we would even leave the house, like she’s afraid of going back. We just thought it was a typical response for her getting inside a car. The visits after that were very disheartening, but I’ll highlight the last 3 visits.
After the 3^rd to last visit, when we brought our dog home, we noticed these red bumps around her belly and back. After close inspection, they were definitely scabs. We were surprised that the staff didn’t inform us of this, but we were forgiving and let that go.
After the 2^nd to last visit, we noticed that our dog had a cut on her ear, along with 2 nails that were slightly bleeding, due to an extremely short cut. Again, we were not informed of this by the staff, and we were getting a bit worried. We had dialogue with them about it, and again, we were forgiving.
After the last visit, we saw that our dog had some bumps on her back again, but the thing that caught our attention the most was that her right eye was drooping, tearing, and she looked like she was in pain. It really worried us, so we called the staff once again. They had nothing to really tell us, and gave us no definite answer as to what had happened. We ended up in an argument, trying to gain the truth and facts, but all we were left with were alternative reasons and justifications as to how and why, which left us clueless. We just wanted the truth of what actually happened, no matter who was at fault.
We ended up taking our dog to the vet, and she was diagnosed with having an ulcer in her eye. We later found out that she had excess shampoo in her eye, and that irritation caused some scratching, promoting the formation of the ulcer. She now has to wear a cone on her head for about 2 weeks, and is currently on 3 different medications. Of course, this results in extra fees, which is very hard on our budget nowadays. After all of these experiences, especially with the last visit, we decided to no longer go to The Groom Room.
We can only hope that no one after us experiences the same or similar events with their pets. We were extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and information, especially when requested. It really is disappointing and heartbreaking, but once again, we’re very forgiving…

We brought our Lhasa Apso to them for grooming. He was stolen from us 4+ years ago. This past week Humane Society called me to tell me they have my dog. My first thought was OMG MY ROTTS GOT OUT! Then she said, you’re male lhasa apso named Harkey? I nearly fell out of my chair from shock. We just figured he was lost forever.
We live in Waipahu and he was picked up in MILILANI! She said she scanned him and my info came up but on his collar there was a different address and a different name. That made my blood boil. I flat out told her I wanted my dog BACK. She said he looked well kept and well taken care of.
When we went to pick him up he looked like BUM! His hair was long, unkept, matted, dirty, and just plain neglected. He wasn’t malnourished so at least he was being fed. When we lost him, he was shaved like a lion. My husband used to shave him with a mane, socks, and a tail just like a lion. So whoever picked him up KNEW he belonged to someone yet never tried to do the right thing. For that reason, I had no sympathy for the family who has NOW lost «their» pet.
Well, we took him to the Groom Room and I explained to the lady on the phone this story so I wanted him cut very short because I don’t know how bad his skin may be underneath.
They did AN AWESOMELY SPECTACULAR job on Harley! Talk about from ugly duckling to beautiful swan! He smelled great, had a cute little hanky around his neck and was so clean! We could actually SEE HIS FACE AGAIN! It was so awesome. They took about 3.5 to 4 hours and we understood that it would probably be a while considering he was neglected for so long and he DESERVED the pampering.
I will most definitely bring him back here for his grooming needs. Thank you Groom Room for doing a great job on our doggie!

First off, the folks at the groom room fondly refer to your beloved dogs as «kids» :) it’s because they take care of them like they would your kids, with love and care.
I first brought my older «kid» here a couple of years ago for a doggie spa day. She came out with soft paws, cleaned glands, trimmed nails, fresh breath, and a soft gleaming white coat. Not to mention, she smelled wonderful! Like berries, and not like «dog». She’s under 20 lbs. And it came out to around $ 60 bucks. My kid always came out super happy, and loved going back every time.
Once I got my second «kid», in an effort to save money, I tried to do most of the grooming at home. But recently decided that my kids deserved some spa treatment and took them both. Same result! happy, fresh, and clean doggies!
There is some cost associated with the great services they provide, but my «kids» are worth it :)
