When you walk in everything is pretty much still in packaging which isn’t too out of the ordinary for regular mini marts in Hawaii, but for some reason it still seemed so empty and unwelcoming. The walls are bright green and there was a very happy Korean lady behind the counter. I got the crunchy tempura maki and my boyfriend got a spicy ahi bowl and a tuna hand roll. After ordering we got our food almost immediately. My crunchy maki was pretty good. My boyfriend on the other hand was super in impressed. He spent $ 25 on three items and one drink. That’s pretty expensive and we should know we get sushi very often. We could have gotten a Don and sushi bay for the same price but WAY more fish and rice. Strike one. On top of that the rice was very grainy. Strike two. Lastly the spicy ahi was NOT fresh. Bland. The sauce was practically coming off the fish. The chunks we hella big. Which meant there wasn’t a lot of piece in the bowl. Strike Three. She even gave us a sample while making the bowl and we were not impressed. Never coming here again. The best part was the Asian drinks in the fridge.

I think the food speaks for itself. The taste to value ratio is outstanding. I really like their Dragon rolls. Their poke is fresh and homemade. They also have crab legs you can make at home cook for a really fair price!

Walking into this place, there was a dude fifty feet away dumpster diving and eating while giving to himself and talking. Ok, whatever… I’m from SF and deal with a lot of psych at work. Then there was another weird dude dressed in all black pacing near the sidewalk. Again… Strange. Walking in, the store is not impressive. But hey, I like hole in the walls. Let’s give it a try. Got the ewa beach platter, which looked like a good amount of poke on a platter. Wrong. 1⁄3 of it was canned tuna & mayo on sushi rice, the middle part was real poke, but also on sushi rice and then spicy tuna on top of rice. I believe it was close to $ 38 for a platter that probably only cost $ 18 max to make. To say I was disappointed is an understatement… Nothing tasted bad, but the platter was somewhat misleading and there were no descriptions on the menu. Asking the guy who worked there(owner? Chef?) what was in the platter, he just responded«poke»… I mean, its true… There’s poke, but it’s not all poke.

1st time here. Excellent customer service. She offered samples of ready made items and also added more kimchee seasoning to get it to my kind of spicy taste. I also ordered the sashimi salad. It looked exactly as pictured and sashimi was fresh. $ 12 is a reasonable price for it with the amount of sashimi you get. BF got the poke and tempura combo. Poke is made fresh when ordered. I just wanted to sample it, poke was awesome, I ended up picking from his bowl. Food is made fresh. I must say, whenever I’m in need of an immediate fix for poke and sashimi, this will be my go to place.

Had a sushi roll from there tonight and tried some of the poke. The quality of fish was better than a lot of the expensive places. I asked where they get their fish from and they go to the local fish auction, which is as fresh as you can get, never frozen. So if you are looking for quality poke and sushi, this is the place to go in Ewa. Also the owner is Korean so they sell a lot of the Korean side dishes and other Asian grocery products that you would have to otherwise go out of Ewa for. I will be coming back to get my fix.

We phone ordered the grand maki sushi platter she told us 20 min we got there in 30 min our tray wasn’t ready. So we sat & looked around. We seen the employee pick up raw fish that spilled in the icebox with her hand & jus throw it back in the pan. Yuck! When we got our platter it didn’t even look like the on in the picture! I asked her about the yellow egg maki roll in the center like the picture & she said that’s only for decoration. Wth! That’s why I ordered the damn thing because it has different maki rolls! Never again!

Very clean an spacious area with a lot of variety. Japanese sushi, fresh poke on refrigerated case, poke bowls, chirashi bowl, unagi bowl and even Korean plate lunches with 4 choices of veggies. They even have a small mini mart section stocked with non-perishable and canned foods and dry good items. A little eclectic, but really yummy food.

Will surely go back to this sushi mart again!:) I had sashimi salad and it had big portions of tuna, salmon, tako, tobiko, ikura and large portions of fresh green salad :-) The cuts of the sashimi is not thin :) I’m always particular with the serving size because some restaurants makes the cut so thin and gives unfair value to customers’ money. The price is excellent $ 12 for huge portions of sashimi made me feel like I ate at a buffet :)!

Love this place. Clean, fresh fish and lots of variety. I tried the Spicy Ahi Don Bowl. Everything about it was perfect! Delicious and the right amount of spice. The lady at the counter was super friendly. I’ll definitely be back to try more.

So far so good. Stopped by with my wife and got a Spicy Ahi Maki and a Crazy Maki. The Crazy Maki was delicious! California roll with ahi/salmon/avocado on top and then topped with spicy ahi and a special sauce. Fish was fresh which is most important. Place was clean and new. They have a huge variety of items from Japanese and Korean to local. Customer service was on point as they were very friendly. Would definitely return to check out the other food.

Very friendly customer service. The menus on the wall depicted exactly what I needed to know. Very clean store and a whole lot of products to offer. The store is conveniently located on the corner with plenty of parking. The food was made fresh and was plenty delicious! Can’t wait to try more.

Had an Ewa Beach platter. It was good, nothing special, but a decent cheap place in Ewa, so you can’t be too picky. I will go back. They look like they have some good inexpensive bowls and plate lunches. No tables to eat at so definitely a take out place.

There’s not too many businesses deep in Ewa Beach, across from Ilima Intermediate. Living there since… a long time ago, remembering the days of Kam’s Drive In and Tanaka Store it is amazing to find a place so refreshing as this. At the end of the building of what use to be the original Post Office of the old Bank of Hawaii building stands the colorful front of Sushi & Mini Mart. It doesn’t look like much but to the right as you enter is a nice selection of some kim chee you rarely see, or don’t see, at all. Looking around are a few products you may need and are good for the convenience of not going far. There is one lady working the counter and she really is sweet. Korean and in Ewa Beach, that’s simply super rare like many of the items in the cooler fridge. Very courteous willing to make the business work. Judging by the amount of people there, I believe it’s working and this little hole in the wall may not stay a secret for long. After watching«Naked and Afraid XL» I had a craving for eel. We ordered one unagi maki. There were many selections we wanted to try but were pretty full. We were just giviing it a taste for now. And, what a taste that was. The picture of the unagi look like a typical unagi maki. In reality, it was like a california roll with the unagi on top. In the center was like the crab salad, avacado and cucumber. Very delicious, and the flavors were well combined. After that sample bite, we knew we would be back. Before this place becomes hot, get over there and give them a try. The lines aren’t that long yet.

First of all the place looked as new as you would expect it to as a new store. Shelves were fully stocked, new wooden floors, and no signs or dust anywhere. They carry an assorted mix of items from corned beef to homemade kim chi to mayonnaise to crab legs. The food ranges from sushi to Korean plate lunches and poke bowls. Poke is sold by market price and today it was $ 16.99 pre pound!!! Plate lunches are about $ 8.75 and poke bowls are $ 9.75 and up. I had a poke bowl and it was really fresh and that’s what made it delicious. Rice wasn’t hot, which I was happy about since I don’t like my poke half cooked :) my husband had the meat jun plate and he thought it was tasty, but wished he had the hot sauce that normally comes with it. The lady said she didn’t have time to make it.(Wish we knew that before ordering). The potato salad is a separate order and it has imitation crab in it, and it was great. We loved it! One of my pet peeves is not filling up our drink cups. We ordered two drinks and they were left with an inch unfilled. *sigh* they were $ 2.25 for 32 oz. Lastly, the sweets… this is the 3rd new place within a block of 2 other places that also sells bubble tea. We didn’t try it but they also have cried ice cream($ 4.75), and that is something you don’t see everyday.
