Splintered Forest

I want to give a shout-​out to Splintered Forest. If you need tree service, I think you would be very pleased with these people. This is one of those companies that is a pleasure to work with. From the very first phone call to the final billing, they were friendly, competent and behaved in a super professional manner.
I have lived in Evergreen for almost 20 years and in this area, it pays to have a tree service that you can trust. Earlier this year, we had to fire the company who had been doing our tree removal because of their lack of respect when on our property. So, when we needed to do a home addition and Jefferson County required fire mitigation, we had to start from scratch to find good folks who could do the job. Someone recommended Splintered Forest and I gave them a call. The owners were at my house for an estimate within 24 hours. They were attentive and carried themselves in such a way that let me know they could be trusted. When I asked them how they wanted to handle payment, they wouldn’t accept even a small deposit until the job was finished to my satisfaction. I went with my gut and hired them and it was a really good decision.
On Tree Removal Day, the team called before coming to my house. When they showed up, they came to my front door, introduced themselves and asked permission to enter the property — this was VERY IMPORTANT to me because I have a territorial dog and I needed to make sure she was confined before commencing the day’s work. After I gave the go-​ahead, they immediately proceeded to execute their job in an efficient manner, being careful not to damage anything in the course of doing their job. I especially liked that they did the required trimming of trees that were not being removed in an artistic way so that my forest yard didn’t look «butchered» when they were done, but were attractive and well groomed. It is one thing to be able to run a chain saw, but quite another to be able to do it so that the end result is nice to look at. It was fun to watch them work and not at all stressful because they were careful to adhere to strict safety standards. When the job was done, they made sure that they left the space scrupulously clean — they didn’t leave so much as a twig behind after completing their work.
One thing I liked was that this crew of good natured lumberjacks clearly enjoyed their work. The got along well with each other and had such a great attitude that the whole day seemed happy and relaxing. The time flew by and instead of being hassled by the noise and mess, they made themselves a joy to be around.
The Defensible Space inspector arrived within 20 minutes of the Splintered Forest team’s departure and he not only passed the inspection with flying colors, he commented on the very nice job that was done. This guy sees everything and indicated to me that I was very lucky in my choice of a Tree Service. He asked for the name of the company that had done the work so he could recommend them to future clients.
It is rare to find a business that is this attentive to detail, so respectful and ethical. So many companies try to get as much as they can while giving as little as they can get away with. It was SO refreshing to find folks who do top notch work at a fair and reasonable price. I would recommend them to anyone who needs tree removal or fire mitigation.
