Description

Specialties

We are pest control experts specializing in pocket gopher control. Often mistaken for voles or moles, most of the soil mounds found in the Front Range of Colorado are actually the work of gophers. Gophers most commonly found in Colorado are pocket gophers and get their name from the external fur-lines pouches or ‘pockets’ on the outside of their mouths which are used to carry food. Pocket gophers are typically around 8 inches in length but can grow up to 13 inches. Pocket gophers have extremely poor eyesight but make up for it with a keen sense of smell and touch which allows them to swiftly navigate a tunnel system up to 200 yards long and sniff out the roots and worms that they dine on.

Pocket gophers can burrow up to 18 inches deep and can push up to 4 tons of dirt per year resulting in up to 300 soil mounds per gopher. Pocket gophers also maintain a nest chamber which can be up to 6 feet below ground where they raise up to 13 young per year.

History

Established in 2011.

No Gopher is a company born of our family’s own frustrations in dealing with pocket gophers. We spent years trying to figure out how to get rid of these destructive little buggers while they amassed over ten thousand dollars in damage to our property. We tried every poison, repellant and trap we could find in local hardware stores and our frustrations grew and grew. Years of patience, persistence and a whole lot of research paid off though and now each time we set out to trap a gopher we have around a 90% chance of catching him on the first try. The Denver front range is rife with gophers, and while we’re not out to drive them to extinction, we would like to help our neighbors manage gophers on their properties and avoid the challenges that we have already endured.
