Wolf’s Bakery

I can remember my father bringing home chocolate-​frosted cake donuts on Saturday mornings in the 1980’s and distinctly noticing a difference (at 5 yrs old) between these and Dunklin Donuts
Wolfs has recently introduced coffee and it appears a half-​hearted attempt to please sleepy-​eyed customers. This could have been huge. H U G E. But they are brewing flavorless, weak, watery coffee with a minimalistic selection of additions (no fresh cream, serve yourself, etc).

I love this bakery one the best red velvet cake so fluffy and not your average frosting. I have been come here for years and always good customer service and bad but good deserts. The butter frost is not to sweet but taste very light and fluffy. One time I order a birthday cake and unfortunately we had to celebrate a week later and the cake was still moist and taste after being in the refrigerator. I tell everyone I know to try this bakery.

I was looking for a lemon cake for a coworker. I searched Unilocal and saw this bakery which is conveniently located in my neighborhood. I told the young lady that it was my first time visiting the bakery and that I heard I should get the lemon fluff. She gave me a free mini lemon cupcake which was so light, fluffy and the lemon was not overbearing. I hope my coworker likes it and I’m sure I’ll be back for more delicious delectables!

This bakery has been around forever and is one of my mom’s favorites. I ordered a birthday cake for my aunt from here. They ended up spelling her name wrong but fixed it right away. They prices are a little high, but you get what you pay for.

This place is so busy when you get inside, so many workers help get through it all. Great tasting lemon fluff cake, cookies, and danishes!

Holy Cannoli! These cookies are the Lord’s Work. Bill, the manager, is super friendly and attentive. I’d give 6 stars if I could!

Got cookies and Irish soda bread, but everything looks delicious. Went in at about 5:30pm, and they close at 6pm, but it was still crowded. We were tended to immediately even though there were other people there. Both the cookies and soda bread are very good. Next time I’ll get cupcakes, they have a large variety of full size and mini cupcakes.

I decided to purchase my daughter’s birthday cake from here because of the rave reviews from my fellow Unilocalers. The customer service is exceptional and the prices are reasonable. I ordered the Atomic Cake which was delicious and the fruit was very fresh. I also ordered other enticing baked goods which were also delicious. None of the items were overwhelmingly sweet which is a plus in my book. They were just right. The presentation of the items make you want to try them out. I’m glad I looked on Unilocal to find my new favorite bakery. Thanks Unilocalers and Wolf’s!

Everything I have had from there has been excellent. Wolf’s and Iversons in Blue Island are simply the best two bakeries that I have visited. I go to Wolf’s now simply because I live much closer. Great Swirl Cookies…

Ordered a chocolate fantasy cake. They are amazing cakes very rich. My son asked for one cherry in the middle. The lady told me «no we can’t do that». I was like seriously you can’t put ONE cherry in the middle. «Let me go ask my manager. She said no we can’t do that, if we do it for you we will have to do it for everyone». You would think a business that has been around this long would have some sort of customer skills. I guess I should of said pretty please. Good desserts bad people skills.

My wedding cake was absolutely delicious. It was a two-​tiered heart-​shaped lemon fluff cake. The guests at the wedding loved the cake and asked for seconds! The young lady, Amy, who wrote up my cake order was very patient and understanding when I wanted to change the design. Overall, it was a wonderful experience getting my wedding cake form Wolf’s Bakery.

Cheap tasty pastries ! I got a bag of goodies for like $ 4! What else do you need to know? Oh and I heard the atomic cake is to die for! It definitely looks the part!

Five stars. We get every birthday cake, communion cake, wedding cake (well, we got one wedding cake) and holiday cake from Wolf’s. The cakes look wonderful (it matters to some people) and taste better. The cookies are delicious as well.
They are famous for their lemon fluff cakes, and those are outstanding, but I’m all about chocolate cake, and I happen to think that the chocolate cakes are Wolf’s best item.
I honestly try not to go into the place, because every time I do, I buy some doughnuts or danishes or coffee cake or muffins or cookies. The only deserts I have had that are tastier than Wolf’s are those made by my mother (which doesn’t really count, since everyone is partial to their Mom’s cooking).
I wish I had some of my wedding cake left!
Wolf’s also has really good bread – soda bread, raisin bread, rye bread, regular white bread, and my son’s favorite, cinnamon bread. I have also heard good things about their lemon meringue pie.
Just be careful – once in a while, the owners go on vacation, so make sure to call a few weeks ahead of when you will be placing your order, just to make sure.

Decided to try it out since we weren’t too far one day.
It can get dangerous with so many options. I decided on some cupcakes, pastries and a brownie.
Everything was moist and good, but I think most of pastries were a bit too sweet.
I also wished they would put prices by the items. You can easily overspend here.

Yet another spot that is considered a staple; if you live out this way, it is expected that you frequent the place. I like it. It’s good, stuff is fresh. Sometimes too crowded for my tolerance but I make the occasional trip for the boyfriend’s sake

The lemon fluff cake has been my birthday cake of choice for 26 years now. Everything there is great, I just wish more people in the neighborhood would continue to support this Evergreen Park staple.
The mini treats are great for parties as well!

Two words: Atomic Cake.
This cake has everything in it a cake lover could want. Strawberries, bananas, a thin layer of chocolate, yellow cake, chocolate cake, and a delectable topping of whipped cream. Get me a glass of cold milk, and I’m in sugar heaven! And at only $ 20 for the entire cake, a great deal!
Of course, they also have all the bakery staples as well. Delicious donuts, a small assortment of French Pastries, wedding cakes, cupcakes, and mouth wateringly delicious rye bread (with or without caraway seeds), and one of the biggest assortment of tea cookies I have ever seen. (One whole section of the bakery is dedicated to these alone.)
Having been in the neighborhood forever, this place is frequented by generations of area residents. Not exactly in my neck of the woods anymore, but I will make the trip for the Atomic Cake alone.
The staff is very helpful, and there is one woman working there, who I think has been working there since I used to come in here when I was a kid. All in all my absolute favorite bakery!
