HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! I should have read Dana’s review I experienced the same exact thing today with my girlfriend.
They had me sit in the waiting room before bringing me back to talk to them both. We came there with our minds set and the lady (Jerry) I think older with blonde hair and glasses was horrible. Reminded me of a die hard republican running for election with one notion that abortion is the worst sin to possibly commit. She would have no talk of abortion whatsoever. My girlfriend told her she was in school to become a nurse. Her response to that was «how can you expect to help other people when you can’t even help yourself. Who says that to someone at a women’s center when your sole job is to comfort and help people make decisions not to tear them down. Furthermore, She was giving a ton of medical advice all which made it sound like if she were to get an abortion the chances of her dying were 99%. I than go to ask her what are the statistics or how many people out of 1,000 die from an abortion each year. Her response was eh, huh, no. Are you kidding me she was acting so childish she wouldn’t answer my response and kept cutting me off. Saying your girlfriend isn’t a statistic OBVIOUSLY SHE ISNT SHE IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. If your going to pound it in our heads that she is most likely going to die if she gets an abortion and you are giving medical advice I want to know the numbers of how many malpractices in this procedure happen annually. When I asked if she was a doctor because she was giving medical advice she finally said no. I have never been so disrespected by someone as much as i was by her today. My girlfriend and I already came there today after a long and hard decision we made. Not for her to pull me in the back and make it sound like I’m forcing my girlfriend to make a decision. She was one of the most horrible people I have encountered in this world. Left us both with a bad and bitter taste in our mouths upon leaving. Left her feeling worse than coming in. I would recommend for anyone to never come here go see a real doctor at UIC which is what we will be doing. We asked about the abortion at the end than she says you need to come back in three weeks for an ultrasound (ARE YOU KIDDING ME) make us wait three weeks for an ultrasound. It was obvious she wouldn’t allow the service to be offered under he counseling. We left and will never come back hopefully everyone else will avoid this place at all circumstances. If you come you will be belittled, talked down too, manipulated, and everything you say is wrong.
Wish a supervisor would read this and contact me! Yet, usually this behavior is practiced and taught from the top and trickles down to everyone else in these circumstances.

After having come here many times, I’d have to say that the ladies who staff The Women’s Center are very caring and professional — and the services are free! There are Spanish-​speaking counselors too. If you think you may be pregnant and are feeling anxious about it, come here before you go anywhere else. You won’t regret it.
