Oh, Aldi. I remember moving out at 19 and living on your ramen and instant mashed potatoes while relishing in my new-found, broke azz independence.*fist bump* These days, Aldi is great for stocking up… especially on canned/dry goods. Their beans and stewed tomatoes make for excellent chili. Often, I can even find spices/rubs here as well as low prices on milk, cream cheese, eggs, sour cream and yogurt. They have a nice variety of greens, but produce has a short shelf life so I only recommend grabbing lettuce, grapes, strawberries, and such if you plan on using it right away. Apples, peppers and potatoes by the bag save me a bundle. For waist watching, many of their«Fit» line goods are on point. Occasionally there are specials on your favorite brands, but their cereal is a win no matter your tastes. I don’t care for their shredded cheese, but their soft wedges are identical to «Laughing Cow». Lunchables, juice boxes, an assortment of trail mixes, granola bars and sweets are always on hand. You can get a big pizza loaded with toppings for about $ 7! Fabulous crackers and a boatload of baking goodies(brown sugar, butter, flour, nuts, chocolate chips, salt, baking powder, boxed mixes, etc.) and paper goods make entertaining a breeze. Pop is available by 2 liters or cans. Every year I buy my all-natural Butterball turkey from Aldi. Fab stuffing base and cornbread mix! Not a fan of the lunch meat or fish, but their ground turkey and chicken breasts are staples in my freezer. You can find some inexpensive toys and household gadgets here if you’re in a pinch. Aldi products come with a satisfaction guarantee or you can return the unused portion to the store for a full refund. Bag your own goods and carts cost 25¢ which is refunded upon return. I purchased their cloth, reusable bags and LOVE them; very strong and hold a ton of groceries without tearing, but you are welcome to bring your own. Plenty of parking and a friendly staff, plus a Mariano’s and Petsmart a stone’s throw away means pack up and power shop! You can fill your cart to the brim for UNDER $ 200.leaving more coin in your pocket to spoil yourself elsewhere… like Binnys. just down the block. ;)
