Sports Authority

Extremely disappointed with the customer service here. Costco was selling the same bike for much less but i wanted the services that sports authority offered. They did NOT deliver. Very very disappointed

We went into sports Authority looking for a Child gymnastics leotard. We were immediately greeted at the door and directed to the items we were looking for. The floor staff was friendly, welcoming, fast and knowledgeable. Great customer service! !

Walked in to find Seahawks gear for their game today against the Panthers and received some of the best customer service ever at any sporting goods store. We were greeted or acknowledged by every employee we saw. Anthony went above and beyond to help me out. I needed a sweater that was on a mannequin and they were out of stock in my size. He offered to take the one off the mannequin which was the last available in my size. Upon checkout my total was less than I was expected to pay for the one North Face sweater $ 22.50. Mackayla then told us about the awesome specials they had. My wife and I then went back and grabbed more stuff and walked out paying $ 100 more. Didn’t mind thanks to the great service. Keep it up.

Since my hubby and I are attending the Mariners vs. Yankees game tonight, we went out last night to snag some Mariners swag (so we didn’t have to fight the crowd at the team store on game night). Saw online that the nearby Sports Authority had the cap my hubby wanted, so we drove over to snatch it up.
I’ve never been to SA before, but it looks like a typical though well stocked sporting goods store. It was pretty much a ghost town in there — aside from a handful of staff, there were few shoppers.
They have a fairly good UW/​WSU/​Mariners/​Seahawks section with a variety of clothing and accessories. I found 3 Mariners baseball shirts but being a woman, I had to try them on. The nearby dressing rooms were unattended so I had to press a button to get an associate to come by and unlock one. I waited maybe a minute and a half or so.
I picked a shirt, as did my husband in addition to his cap, and headed for the checkout. Again, we pretty much walked up to the cashier. Only one till was option, as the other one appeared to be in need of maintenance. She signed us up on the spot for the Sports Authority card (free customer card) which got us 5% off our current purchase. Sweet.
Giving 5 stars because we found what we wanted, the store was clean and organized, and the customer services was what we expected.

It’s good to know what you want to buy before coming here, and even better if you know your way around, because the place is kinda big, as compared to other branches in the area within a ten-​mile radius. Staff is helpful, but only if you can find one available, because somehow each is always keeping busy running around helping lost or bewildered customers like me, so you may end up waiting your turn for help, usually not that long, anyway, so it’s fair.
My buying experience here was not so bad after all. I saw an ad for a 100-​lb UFC punching bag that they carry, which I have been eyeballing for a while online. I thought the price was reasonable enough for a product that I’ll just be banging around at my garage at anytime, anyway, so I decided to just drive up north and pick it up at this store instead of ordering it online. The ordeal was next to painless! The manager that helped me was quite accommodating — he brought the item at the front till, and had one of his staff wheel it down to my car and drop it in the trunk after I paid for it. He even managed to sell me a two-​year replacement warranty for the gloves, in case it breaks (hey, it’s possible!) within that time. I left the place with everything I needed: the bag hanger contraption, hand wraps, the gloves, and the bag — all in one shot. About a month later, I received an email saying that I earned some cash back for my last purchase. OK, thanks for that too.
And…that’s all I can say about this place.

Horrible horrible service, never greet you. Everyone looks miserable to be working there. Asked girls up front if they have anything like these two types of shorts I found on clearance just a size medium one turned away telling me she Doesn’t know what I’m talking about the other said kept repeating that they don’t have anything «exactly» like that.
I told her something similar I don’t care if it’s not on clearance and she just looked past me. Felt like I was getting pushed out before closing hour (2 damn hours before they close) taking my business else where!

I just left this place about 2 hours ago. I read that I could get CO2 filled there. I walked around the entire store and no less than 5 employees averted their eyes rather than address my obvious need — I’m walking around with a 24oz CO2 canister. .. it’s not huge, but impossible not to notice, unless you’re blind or possibly a Sports Authority worker! Not a single employee was willing to treat me as other than someone with the plague.
As my last resort (because everyone knows the frontline register person is any store’s «weakest link»), I finally went up to the front register to ask the girl about CO2 fills. The poor thing; she could not escape by ducking into the kids-​floatation-​devices aisle, as so many of her confederates thus far had succeeded in doing. Alas, she begrudgingly whispered into her earphone «Is Anthony the only one „qualified“ to do CO2?»
Then she proceeds to ignore me and checks out at least 4 people without acknowledging my presence again. She acted as if I had disappeared. More employees came to the front. All ignored me. Finally, as one of the red-​shirted guys who appeared to be somewhat of a leader can pass directly by me and scurry back to the nice, cool, relaxing, customer-​free storeroom where I imagine the party is at, I say «hello.» «Can you fill this?»
«Oh, no, we’re out ’til Monday,» he says, pretending to just then notice the huge canister in my hand.
«Well, does she know that?» I ask, pointing to the poor girl at the register who will not even face me. Why won’t customers just make her day easy, like her papa at home does she wonders?
She then dismissively replies to the leader-​ish guy, still completely ignoring me, «I radioed and no one answered,» as if that’s all the effort she could manage. Apparently, since it’s easier to keep scanning those little line thingies with the red laser gun, she opted to ignore me and simple hope that I would go away. Maybe if she would have closed her eyes and clicked her heels it might have worked better?
Number one, what is the hiring criterion at this woeful retailer? Does it even encompass being able to look at a person and move your lips to make sounds; i.e., communicate?
And number two, did someone fail to tell the register girl that the correct thing to do is to lie to customers and say «we’re out until Monday,» instead of succumbing to the fear and simply pretending that this isn’t happening, or by being truthful and admitting that the «qualified» CO2 dispenser-​guy has been working there for 20 years and thus has earned those precious «bankers hours,» so sought after in the retail world? Or did she forget the party-​line? God forbid that a freaking sporting goods store bother to have all hands on deck on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of the summer. No worries though, I won’t be back. Enjoy the time off Mr. Qualified CO2 Technician-​man! You’ve earned it! Besides, why teach one of the dozens of weekend employees when all of the customers worth their salt come in on Mundees dangit?!
Of all of the horrible service I’ve received over the years, this takes the cake, which is REALLY saying something. So much time wasted. In addition to never shopping at the pit-​stain that is the Sports Authority again, I will do all I can to stay away from the pit-​stain of a town that is Everett, WA. Wow. It has become very easy for me to understand why companies are looking to another «talent-​pool,» as it were, for their labor needs. Because after all, BUILDING AIRPLANES is even harder than filling CO2 tanks!!!

Good service. Got my racquet restrung and the girl new what she was doing. Quick tut around time and got a call when it was ready.

After checking with other local bicycle shops I took our 30 year old road bikes in for the ‘Works’ tune-​up.
They had the first done a day early so I could drop off the second and have it done for our vacation to Whistler.
Did everything, including removing some rust from the rims, replacing cables, repacking bearings, lube and adjust shifting and brake mechanisms, true wheels, all for $ 60.00! 3 day turn around, Definitely will be using their service department again. Ayla and others in service were excellent.

Called the store to see if they had a product available, they did and the put it on hold. this is the only positive thing I can say about this location. When I went in that night to get my product, the women at customer service was to busy talking over the walkie talkies to notice we walked in. Talking about she didn’t want to be at work, not only was this annoying but her smacking her gum was disrespectful. When my product was brought up, the box was severely damaged when I asked the guy to get me a different one. He just stared at me .
After 10 min he came back up with a new box, I told her I was using my check in offer from Unilocal for 20 off and she only gave me 10 off and when I said something she said well I dont have that cupon here soooo, and I said sooo I suggest you get one .
This store is overall crap and so are the people that work their.

Signed my daughter up for golf lesson at the local driving range, went to my local Sports Authority store to buy some clubs. Went to her 1^st lesson 2 days after purchasing the clubs, instructor said she should use men’s clubs because of her height. Took the clubs back to the store with my receipt but was told that I couldn’t return or exchange them because they were used… Used!!! she only used 2 clubs for her lesson… The kick in the gut was I needed the Men’s clubs for here next lesson so I ended up getting the clubs from there too.

Was looking through their ad on Sunday and saw some men’s and women’s KSwiss for a great price, along with some huge sales on golf balls. Wife and I went over expected to find two pairs of size 15’s and were surprised to find about eight stacks of the KSwiss and cases of the gb’s. Wow, clearance prices AND its in stock!
Only negative was if the guy working in the fitness equipment section had tried even a little bit to seem interested in working, we would have picked up the the exercise bike as well!

Sports Authority is a large sporting goods store on Evergreen Mall way. There is a lot of parking, but that is about where the good parts of this shopping experience end.
I needed a can of tent sealer. Just a simple spray can to seal the seams of a large tent I had just bought elsewhere. We were also looking to buy a camp stove, some camp cook gear, a lamp, and other things. (We are getting back into camping after years of not, and having given away our old gear.)
My husband and I went in, and looked all over the camping goods area, and by the tents. The first thing I noticed is that the prices were pretty high. The things I did find, where $ 10 or more than I had seen at all the other stores I had been half heartedly pricing camp gear at.
My second problem, was the sealant that I wanted, I couldn’t find anywhere. I needed it the most, so my husband asked a tall thin blond gal who worked there where to find it. She responded just like the other review, «If it’s not on the shelves we don’t have it.»
I stepped in, and asked where would it be because we can’t find it. She waved her hand at the entire camping area, and told us there. I asked her to be more specific, because we have been there for a half hour, looking, and are not finding it. She just shook her head.
She started walking off, and I asked her for help, and she just looked at me, and walked away. I threw my hands in the air, and told my husband we don’t need to work that hard to buy things from a store.
We went next door to target, where the clerks were helpful, the camp gear was far cheaper, with sales tags everywhere, and my sealant spray was prominently displayed by the tents.
It’s not worth it to shop there.

Oh, how I wish I could give negative stars for this place…
We went into this store just to get mouth guard and a pair of gloves for my son’s football practice, and for a moment I felt like I went back in time to the 80’s communist Poland…
The dusty shelves were either empty or filled with things that didn’t belong there. The price tags were not hang on the shelves either.
Finally being not able to find a single item we decided to ask for help. It took us a while to locate the csr that worked there… Finally we realized that they were busy working on their exquisite looks…
Most of them were either exercising (for themselves not to demonstrate!) or playing the air hokey, laughing happily while customers walked in daze and amazement… When we got their attention, the answer was: «If it’s not on shelf, we don’t have it». We figured, they don’t have most of the stuff.
In the end, we were not able to find gloves, after almost a half hour we’ve located mouth guard, somewhere in the sneakers section.
Just to top it all of with «a cherry on a pie», only one register was used while the line reached the middle of a store.
I don’t advise anyone to ever shop there, unless you’re in the mood to see some nice looking personnel working out, and having fun doing so. Alas, for that we have a gym membership already.
