Sal’s Custom Dry Cleaning

Paid for rush service and when I showed up at pick up time it wasn’t ready. No excuse I worked for another dry cleaner before. It was just them being lax to have it ready on time. It’s a shame my family has been going to them as long as I can remember no more. Not even a courtesy call from them. From now on will go elsewhere for my dry cleaning.

Buyer BEWARE if you are dealing with fire/​smoke-​related cleaning.
They say «wont cost you anything» but it WILL come out of your deductible, and so WILL cost you for the clothing you dont keep. The clothes went from smelling of smoke to smelling of chemicals that gave me a headache.

About a year ago I had my red North Face fleece pockets repaired and cleaned so I thought. They changed me a total of 35 for both. I put a down payment of 20 dollars then came back the same day with the remaining balance this way upon pick up of the fleece I would owe nothing. The day of the pick up I noticed small stains still on the fleece that lead me to believe it was never washed or cleaned. I asked the woman at the counter about the situation she told me I only paid for the repair I was so angry because I clearly told them to clean and repair. So when I left the cleaners they called me while I was at the bus stop stating that I owed them money. They screwed up and wanted more money for there mistakes. There customer representatives seriously needs to get stuff together. One year later only worn the fleece twice this season. The pockets are falling apart that’s poor quality work

I usually get my dry cleaning done in Back Bay but this place is close to home so I decided to go here. I took my clothes in (I think it was 3 sweaters and a pair of pants) on a Saturday around noon and the associate asked if Wednesday would be ok to pick up. My usual place would have had them Tuesday at the latest.
She then went through my clothes and was asking another associate if two of my sweaters were on sale because they had beading around the collar (they weren’t). I had to sign a waiver in case these beads fell off which worried me.
I picked up my clothes on Wed. evening and they were fine — the beads did not come off but I will never go back here. Poor customer service, price was much too high and took too long compared to my usual place.

I had a fire loss at my house and Sals came in and took out all of the salvageable items and brought back some of my emergency stuff back just the next day. I got the rest of my stuff back within the week. The turn around time was amazing. The customer service was also great. I met with Sal and some of his workers who were all poliite and respectful of me and my time in need. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of clothing restoration for a fire or water damage.

So, I’ve only been here twice. The first time I went in there, my wool coat was about $ 12 for dry cleaning. Fair enough. The second time I went here with my puffy North face coat, one of the associates, a young woman, gave an estimate of $ 35 because my coat is heavy. However she seemed unsure of herself so she glanced over at the older associate. She asked me if the hat part of my coat had glue on it and it might be very hard to take it off, in fact she said she DK if it can come off. I told her that it was residue from hair gel. She acted like it was stuck on and she said because of that it will be about $ 45. She even asked if it’s mildew, lol.
That price wasn’t reasonable considering that’s nearly ¹⁄₆ of the coat’s value and the coat wasn’t super heavy or dirty. I went somewhere else and I was only charged $ 20 for the same coat.
You can find cheaper dry cleaning with the same or higher quality work. Won’t be going here again.

Needed tailor and went in 3 times looking for their part time tailor. I just had missed the tailor when I went in the 3^rd and last time, lady who talked to me was rude. She’s the same one I talked to the 2^nd time. She said «I told you when she was in».

I bought a groupon hoping to find a convenient regular dry cleaner. The groupon states that Sal’s offers free delivery and pickup within 10 miles of either location and that the minimum for free pickup is 5 pieces of dry cleaning. When I tried to schedule a pickup, I was told that pickup is entirely at the discretion of the driver and needs to be less than 15 miles round-trip…with at least 20 pieces. I called back to offer a closer location (my boyfriend’s house) that would be within 15 miles round-​trip and the woman screamed at me that I can’t change the address that they had in the system. She continued to yell at me that groupon users are lazy and all wait 6 months until they’re expiring to use them. Extremely unprofessional, not to mention multiple counts of false advertising.

Finally I have a cleaners that I like. And I’ve never really been pleased with a dry cleaner, til now. And to me, a good cleaner is a necessity.
Discovered Sal’s due to a Living Social deal. I find their prices better than most and their personal service and cleaning excellent. For example, I brought my area rug to be cleaned and they phoned me the next morning to confirm the price quote. Later, when they found a small tear, they phoned me again with a reasonable price to repair. Finally, when I came to pick-​it-​up and found it wasn’t ready, they delivered it to my home free of charge.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! They’ve lost articles of clothing, damaged some during the cleaning process and accept ZERO responsibility for doing so. Pay the extra money and get the job done right.

Unbelievable! These guys are the BEST! I took my daughter’s wedding dress to several other places that said they weren’t sure if they could get the dirt and grass stains out, but not Sal’s…they took one look at it and said «No problem!». And sure enough, 3 days later we picked up a wedding dress that looked as good as new. Thank you, Sal’s! I recommend Sal’s to anyone and everyone. Friendly, courteous, excellent cleaning and the price is right. I’m a satisfied customer and will never go anywhere else for my dry cleaning needs.
