Everett Community College

I graduated from EVCC in 2013 with an AFA in Photography. I did a lot of research, (including in-​person visits), for photography degrees prior to enrolling. EVCC checked off all my boxes from my first visit to graduation: high quality curriculum and teachers, affordable tuition and parking permits, ample parking, well-​maintained facilities and classrooms, awesome food court and gym, all-​around wonderful experience between meeting fellow students in my major as well as photography and art teachers, development of a full photography portfolio and resume alongside photography exhibitions both on campus and at local galleries. No regrets here and one of the best educational choices I have ever made. I transferred with confidence to UW Seattle majoring in Visual Arts based on the invaluable instruction and skill sets I received from EVCC. The only experience there that was less than pleasant was the financial aid office — everyone who worked there were very polite, but as a student, you must be sure to keep track/​keep a record of all deadlines, forms, emails, and phone calls. I’m not sure if they were understaffed or overworked, but there was definitely a tendency to be under-​informed as a student with respect to required forms, amount of money to be awarded (for federal loans) and when this would actually happen, and deadlines. You must be proactive and look up much of the info yourself and in calling the financial aid office repeatedly to get the answers you need to obtain proper financing before your tuition is due. That said, my educational experience there was exceptional, especially considering it was a community college, and no school can be perfect on all fronts (aka if it is, it’s too good to be true ;). If you take any arts or photo courses, these instructors were da’ bomb!: Ellen Felsenthal, Lloyd Weller, Thom Lee, and Linda Berkley.

I attended EvCC in 2010 for a biology transfer. They have great instructors with great backgrounds. They would also work with you. The tutoring center was pretty much my second home.
I fully advise participating in school activities such as clubs, senate and regular celebrations. All the school is really missing is a large garage/​parking lot but they also provided ORCA bus cards which saved so much money.

I went to EvCC in 2005. I attended ESL Classes.
I liked evening classes. Our teacher was very talented in teaching. He used great techniques while teaching English. I believe his name was James. He has a british accent, which was very easy to understand.
Parking was free and plenty.
Campus was pretty nice looking. Though I was weird combination of very modern buildings and buildings that look like a storage places. LOL

Professors at Everett Community College care about their students, cater to their learning styles, and are knowledgeable about their field. However, the enrollment and center for disability services staff can appear to be rude, and not caring. The campus is clean. There is a little crime on and near campus, and no smoking is allowed on campus. There has also been a lot of new construction, and expand of the campus lately. They also offer a large program selection and have programs setup to transfer to universities in Washington. There are a lot of activities around campus, particularly in the spring time. For anyone in the Everett area or South Whidbey Island, I would recommend this college over Edmonds Community College and Skagit Valley College.

I am writing this review as an observer of a college that keeps expanding and growing. It would be nice to see them get the WSU satellite branch to complement the existing community college. The new buildings going up can only help revitalize the area in the North Everett end.

I went to EvCC for my Cosmetology degree and I was very happy with it. The beauty school campus was actually in Marysville so I was only on the main campus for my first quarter. I attended when they were still building the new big buildings and the new transit station so things were a little bit torn apart and messy while I was there. However, the rest of the campus was well maintained and nicely laid out.
As far as the actual beauty school went I was very pleased with my education. After now interviewing new students coming out of school for the salon I work in, I am seeing that I learned just as much, if not more from my humble beginnings as they did from their high end schooling. I felt very prepared to go out into the working world and start taking clients with minimal additional training.
The instructors at the beauty school were also great; they were very supportive and did a great job helping us out in a variety of different ways. We had one instructor that was a barber and so she was able to help us with men’s haircuts, while another teacher was great at wrapping perms.
When I graduated from beauty school, I continued taking online classes so I could receive my associates degree as well. I feel that as long as you’re motivated that online classes work really well. It was great to have knowledgeable instructors who would give great notes and online lectures, and being able to work at my own pace was great.
All in all, if I needed to go back to school I would think about attending EvCC again.

This is a very nice place for a community college. I am just finishing up their Graphic Design program.
The campus is continually growing, as of now they are building a new gym and have several other buildings that are new, like Grey Wolf Hall and Whitehorse.
The majority of the teachers are great and really have a passion for teaching.
The administration for the college is just ok, many of the employees are rude which really irritates me. I guess maybe they are that way because they deal with a lot of teenagers but I am 30 and get tired of the snootyness especially from the enrollment and registration ladies.
A bit pricey if you are taking anything technical because the lab fees are a killer! Overall I am glad I’ve got here and don’t regret it.
