We are the Pacific Northwest’s premier outdoor guiding company that specializes in guided instruction for day hikes and snowshoeing Adventures, backpacking and mountaineering overnight trips as well as outdoor rock climbing. We cater to beginners, meaning that you are able to try out an Adventure BEFORE you have to purchase the required gear. This enables you to see if you enjoy rock climbing, mountaineering or backpacking before you spend hundreds of dollars, just to find out that the sport is not for you. We offer highly customizable Adventures; we will build a unique, individual-​specific trip just for you! If you enjoy lush rainforests, pristine lakes and cascading waterfalls, then you should try out an Adventure with us soon.

History

Established in 2001.

Cascade Adventure Guides, formerly known as Cascade Guiding Services, was started in early 2000 by a man with a vision of spreading his love for mountain climbing to others. Since then, we have restructured the company to include hiking, backpacking and snowshoeing Adventures to singularly focus on beginners. We feel strongly that together, with you, our stewardship will help spread a desire to get out and enjoy nature in it’s most unadulterated form and to help do our part to keep our National and State parks clean and environmentally sound for future generations to enjoy as much as we have.

My love for the outdoors was introduced to me at a young age. Growing up in rural Northern Minnesota, I learned to appreciate nature and the bounties that it offers, both in flora and fauna. The world is such a beautiful place, and many of us don’t take enough time out of our busy days to really «stop and smell the roses». Too often, we get wrapped up with day-​to-​day living, paying bills, raising families, fixing the house and other very important and worthwhile but very stressful and time consuming duties. I feel strongly in the importance of taking a step back, slowing down, and getting back in touch with the simple pleasures in life. A hike down a forested trail offers much history and simplicity in the wake of it’s beauty. The sound of a cascading waterfall as you really savor a meal. Falling asleep to the sunset as it slowly dips below the crest of a majestic mountaintop. So come enjoy an Adventure with us, and get back to the basics!
