History

Established in 2012.

The Always Something thrift store was opened on August 1, 2012. We are a nonprofit store whose proceeds go to benefit charities.

One of the charities is Salt of the Earth Ministries Inc. Salt of the Earth is a food bank located in Everett, WA. They provide food and clothing to approximately 6,000 people each month in Snohomish County through their food bank and soup kitchen.

Another charity we support is the Wanda Jankelson Foundation for Healthcare and Research.

All funds from the Wanda Jankelson Foundation for Health Care and Research are donated exclusively to the Marsha Rivkin Center to support programs for screening, early detection, and research of ovarian cancer.

Always something thrift store is an amazing place to find hidden gems! This is a family run non profit that is committed to helping there community. I have made multiple purchases from this business and every time I go into the store they make me feel right at home! Prices are reasonable. Merchandise is quality. Staff is friendly. Above all the charitable work they do for there community is second to none. From helping feed the homeless, allowing those who need and deserve a second chance at life to help out around the shop to show they can be productive members of society, to the different causes they assist that help children who are less fortunate. This is an amazing place to do business with. They absolutely have my support and I’ll continue purchasing from them! It’s nice to finally have a place to donate to that sends the proceeds to exactly where they say they do not into some upper level executives pocket! Highly recommend coming in and shopping and getting to know the staff!

The name of this place is definitely fitting. I had the pleasure of bringing some friends of mine here, 9 to be exact. Walking in, was greeted by the owner. WoW… what place does that any more.
If you’re looking for crafting supplies, housewares, religious materials, quality toys or power tools… come here first. Friendly staff, clean inside not to mention a bargain hunters paradise…
Only downside is that they don’t have restroom facilities (little secret… go to the grocery store 2 doors down).

The only reason I gave this place two stars is because the girl working the counter was friendly and polite. If you are looking for a bargain DO NOT COME HERE. Everything in this store is way way way overpriced. We are talking a 1980’s era dresser? $ 300 bucks. Old funky crockpot? $ 25 bucks. I am pretty sure new they are less than that. I was interested in a little damaged vase that prob came from Safeway, that was 5 bucks, even though it was covered in mold. When I asked if there was a better price I was told that they can’t negotiate prices. If you are interested in a different price, I was told you needed to fill out a request form which will be reviewed and someone would contact me. Are you serious?! I watched another customer leave without an item that was missing half its parts because she couldn’t give it to her for less than marked! It just seemed silly to me. I would understand if hinge were priced economically. This place supports charity, but as someone who is on a tight budget, this «thrift» store is much too rich for my blood.

As of NOVEMBER 2014 — this place is under new management. It is not as cheap as it was previously, but is still one of my favorite thrift stores in town.
They no longer have a $ 0.25 rack (it’s now a 75% off rack) — meaning it’s not as cheap, most things are about $ 1 on the sale rack now. Bummer. All in all though the place is cleaner and nicer than ever. Staff is still friendly and nice and mainly the same people :)
****You should know before going here**** They price everything high, in my opinion,. But then they rotate items through the sales. Usually it varies by color tags, one day the red tag items are 75% or 50% off, then orange, then yellow, etc. Or sometimes «all clothes» 50% off, etc. So if you really want something and it seems pricey, just wait for the sale ;)
