We are a not-for-profit that offers free, confidential reading instuction for adults 18+.
History
Established in 1966.
We were originally founded as the Regional Reading Aid by the YWCA in 1966. Ivy Tech Community college formed their own center for assistance to adults to improve their literacy skills and the two merged in the 1980’s. We became our own 501c3, (not-for-profit status) in the early 1990’s and have been operating on grants, individuals donations and business support since. Ivy Tech generously supplies our facilities.
