History

Established in 1934.

Lamasco began as a corner bar, opening its doors in 1934. It has been open since then and has continued to grow and evolve with the times. The name Lamasco is actually the name of a little town that was centered right around the bar area. It was named after the three men that founded the town, Law, McCall, and Scott. The little town of Lamasco was hostilely overtaken by the big, bad town of Evansville, due to them owning the loading rights on Pigeon Creek, with direct access to the Ohio River. The East Side vs. West Side rivalry that exists today, is from these actions in the mid-1800’s. We continue to offer great food and great music and hope to do so over the next 80 years!

Meet the Business Owner

Amy W.

Business Owner

Amy was born and raised in Evansville, IN. She purchased Lamasco in 2009 from her aunt, Vickie Hamilton, who had owned the bar since 1997. Amy was an Evansville Middle School Science Teacher, who left the glamorous field of education, to run a great little West Side Bar (yes, she thought that sounded like a fabulous idea as well). Amy’s background in music, she has played guitar for years, has led to the amazing live music scene that is exploding around this bar. 5 nights a week, you can catch some of the best mid-west acts performing at Lamasco. Be sure to say hi when you see her!
