The atmosphere is pretty dull… The service is just OK… But the fish quality is very good. And the AYCE is a great deal. I’ll definitely go back. Parking on the street is free after 6 pm. They do have outdoor seating and if it was a little nicer out, I definitely would have chosen that over inside.

Up until about a week ago, I had been a loyal customer of Siam Paragon. I was pleased with their menu of vegetarian sushi! HOWEVER… I had came mid-day for their BOGO sushi deal with a few coworkers. We all were very hungry and ready to enjoy our lunch, ordering even a generous amount for leftovers. Now, as I had mentioned, I was a loyal customer– I likely have been once a week for the last few months. And NEVER had this issue come up. The waitress would not split our checks! And then when we offered to place separate orders, even from separate tables, she refused. When she asked what we wanted to do, I asked her to go check with the manager, as this had never been an issue for us before. A coworker of mine had been there the day prior and had her check split no issue at all. When she returned, she said there was nothing more she could do, however, we were not given a valid reason as to why they couldn’t help us find a solution. As our only option that day was paying with a card. Needless to say, they lost our business not just that day, but for a long time.

This place has absolutely made a sushi water out of me, which is saying something because I HATED sushi before coming in. I’d tried it multiple times over the last few years and never acquired a taste for it. We recently moved into the area and when a friend came to visit, we chose this place off of its proximity to our apartment. What we didn’t know was that they offered BOGO sushi and for that alone my boyfriend and friend were sold. Seriously, don’t be afraid of the BOGO. They have a huge variety of rolls that they prepare fresh. We were actually seated where we could see the rolls being prepared. And one of the preparers remembered us. As I mentioned, I’m not a sushi eater and expected to just order Teriyaki. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they offered both a small selection of both Chinese and Thai options. The first time I ordered their pad see iew and I couldn’t keep my boyfriend not friend out of it. It was so good. My Boyfriend and our friend split 4 rolls and were absolute stuffed. We also ordered tempora and that was really well made. The thing is, they made a sushi eater out of me! We went back the following week(this past Wednesday) because I was craving it. I started with a roll that had chicken in it(please don’t judge) and by the time I was finished I was eating sushi with roe on top.

I never write negative restaurant reviews. Never say never, I guess. Our server was rude throughout our visit, which didn’t bother us much. I didn’t find the sushi very fresh. I love salmon and it wasnt very good. Oh well. But when one of my group didnt finish three pieces of small cucumber maki after having two orders of sushi, telling him that he would be charged an upcharge for not finishing his food was pretty ridiculous. Sort of got the feeling that we were not approved of because two of us were men of size. Buhbye.

Disappointed. This was one of my favorite places until they refused to serve me and a few friends because they said we weren’t allowed to make separate tickets or split checks. And refused to work with us. They cared more about what was best for them instead of the customer and because of the very poor customer service had to leave. Go to Lucky Platter instead!

I live right across the street and take out from here all the time. I love getting their takeout cuz its SO fast. Sometimes they take less than 10 Mins. They are really flexible with their dishes — I often order the vegetables with garlic sauce and substitute half the veggies with ones I like. I mostly order their garlic sauce with chicken or ginger sauce or spicy basil.

First time eating from here, ordered delivery online. Would say that if you have any sort of allergy or specific request, don’t rely on the«Notes» section to communicate to them. We ordered sushi and requested no avocado on a few of the maki rolls due to an allergy and once delivered realized all rolls had avocado included. I guess we’d order here again but would probably skip the supposed«convenient» route to just ensure that our order is properly taken.

I’ve only come here for the sushi so I can’t comment on the main entrees, but I think it is one of the better sushi places in Evanston. They have a weekday bogo deal during certain hours which makes coming here pretty worth it. They also have an all you can eat option as well. Food — there are so many sushi rolls to choose from — one page front and back — which is great! You can also substitute purple rice in any of the rolls — probably one of the best options in substitution history. Anyway, their Japanese food menu is also pretty extensive and the price isn’t too bad. I love their sake don(salmon on rice — $ 17) which comes with a good portion of fish. It also comes with miso soup which I really liked(usually, I find miso soups to have a ‘fake’ sort of taste, but this one didn’t). Rolls are big and filling. Service — service here is pretty average, but I’m really just here for the food. The inside is very spacious, so there has never been a problem with waiting for a table or slow service.

I keep coming here because the rolls sound and look good but the sushi is poor quality and the owner nickel and dimes you. Too bad because I live a block away. But two doors down the sushi is da bomb! — owner offered us Coke to smooth out mouths from a redonculous it inedible dish and even charged for the one Coke while my husband and my eye watered and my mouth is peeling inside. Not cool!

bad experience just for take-out. the 2 stars is just for the chicken pad see ew, which could have used a little more sauce and egg. i give ZERO stars for the hostess/server(amber ya) when i paid & picked up my food. yes, her name is on the receipt. first, when i called, she asked me to repeat my name and number three times after which she asked if i had ordered from there before(no). then when i picked up the food, i gave her cash. then, she proceeds to ask, «paying with cash?» uhh, yes, that’s what i gave you. then she starts muttering and rolling her eyes and slams the register closed and walks off. wow. i don’t know what kind of day she was having, but it was a rather empty friday night in the restaurant. the rudeness was unnecessary and enough for me to avoid them in the future.

This is our New Year Eve random place to enjoy the dinner. The ambience is like a typical Chinese buffet. Greasy table with dim light. Food was ok and the price is not bad.

My husband and I went here for the all you can eat sushi special. We came at a time when the restaurant was slow and as it got busier our service got progressively worse. We waited at least 15 minutes to flag down our waitress for the check, she said she would be right back, 10 minutes later she came back and asked if we wanted our check? YES! The check came and there was a mystery $ 4 charge(all you can eat is all inclusive except for drinks) that we didn’t question because we wanted to leave. We threw a $ 10 bill on the table as a tip and paid. Here’s why we’ll never go back. Our waitress, the same one who rang us up and saw the money on the table, snarked«the bill doesn’t include a tip.» WHAT? We tip even for mediocre service. This was our second time at the restaurant and second time receiving bare bones, condescending service. We’ll never go back. There are plenty of restaurants in the area with great food AND service.

The service is really fast here and the place is really clean. Ordered 2 pieces of tuna and yellowtail sashimi, both were really fresh. Order Pad See Iew, it’s really salty and oily for my taste. Would recommend them to put less salt in, it’d be better.

I have been going to this little joint about twice a month for the past five years. I have NEVER been dissapointed, not with the food and not with the service. I love the Sunday & Monday AYCE for $ 23.great value, the rest of the days is BOGO and all items on the menu are reasonably priced. The portions are very generous and everything is always fresh. some of my favorites, tom kha gai(absolutely delicious) Hawaiian fried rice, salmon lovers platter! great beers and love their cosmo its always on point. The staff is always friendly and professional. Also the restaurant was recently remodeled and looks really nice, cool atmosphere.

We order delivery from SIAM every few weeks and are never disappointed. My favorite is the pad Thai with chicken, and there’s always plenty for leftovers(especially if we also order a starter — like the yummy crab Rangoon). We’ve also enjoyed the wasabi vegetable rolls, miso soup, yellow curry, red curry, chicken teriyaki and green tea bubble tea. All great — but the pad Thai remains my fav!

I love Siam! Unfortunately they do not deliver to the Rogers park area which is 1.5 miles away or else I would order here more. I normally get the chicken Thai fried rice and Mongolian beef. The Thai fried rice is delicious, one of my favorites. The Mongolian beef is good but you do not get enough for the price. The food is delicious but the prices are a little higher than other Thai places.

I have been raving to friends about Paragon since hubby and I discovered it a few months ago. I’ve been completely obsessed with the place, until tonight… my husband ordered his favorite dish, the chicken Panang noodles and that was the beginning of the end. First they brought us the wrong dish then the dish that finally came was watery and absent of both noodles and chicken. It looked like they scraped the bottom of the pot out for us. When we complained, we had the most rude and ridiculous response from our server. Not only did he accuse my husband of lying(really? About a $ 10 dish??)… he proceeded to explain in explicit and condescending detail the process they use for weighing all of the protein. He ended the rant by telling us to be more careful with our order next time, since we obviously aren’t familiar with the dishes. Never have I ever been berated and harassed is such a manner by a server… when we complained about his rude behavior, he grabbed the check and said, «if you don’t want to pay, then forget about it!» Rude! Rude! Rude! When we asked for the manager, he was(conveniently) not in… go figure. We threw the server a $ 20 bill and left as quickly as possible. The saddest part is that we love this restaurant so much… we order from here frequently and spend many date nights here… now you probably couldn’t pay me to go back.

The food is not good. It is way too overpriced and the portions are not that great. Ordered delivery and received cold food. Would not recommend.

We ordered delivery from here tonight, and the food was delicious. The gyoza was very tasty with a great sauce. Edamame was good as usual. My fiancé loved his udon, and I really enjoyed the rolls-the fish was fresh and yummy. My reason for only two stars is because of the green tea flavored bubble tea I ordered. I take my first sip and a hard, broken piece of blue plastic came up in the straw. At first I thought, «okay, it’s just one little piece». But as I continued to drink it, more and more shards and pieces of plastic kept coming up in the straw, and as well were visible in the cup as the blended drink began to melt. I was pretty bummed because the flavor of the bubble tea was DELICIOUS. I mean, one of the best I’ve had. Unfortunately I was unable to finish the drink because there were so many pieces of plastic that I felt uncomfortable ingesting any more of it since some of the pieces of plastic were so small that I could not pick them out. Clearly something must have fallen into the blender when they made the drink, and I really just wish they had been more careful and paid more attention during preparation. I’d like to think that they did not see this before they sent the drink out to us. This has not deterred us from ordering from here in the future, but it will probably be awhile.

One of my go to sushi places in Evanston! I frequent their AYCE sushi deal on Sunday and Mondays for $ 22.95. I love this place because they have a good variety of rolls, nigiri, appetizers, and because the portion of rice to fish is excellent! A lot of sushi places will stuff their rolls and nigiri full of rice with just a little piece of fish. This place ISNOT like that. I come about once a month for their AYCE and I can attest to the fact that they give you good quality portions. This would be my go to place every single time I craved sushi if only they had white tuna nigiri and vegetaable/shrimp tempura on their AYCE menu. Currently, they’re running a Buy One Get One Free(BOGO) roll deal during the times when they don’t offer AYCE. Seems like a great deal to me even though I haven’t tried it yet. I’ve also tried their red curry lunch special and it was awesome :) Their miso soup is always on target and for some reason, I also love their crab ragoon! I’ve only got love to show for this place!
