By way of background, I moved to Evanston in late 2012 and found a local dentist (not Dr. Martini) to deal with a broken crown that I’d been living with for a couple years while traveling. To make a long story short, that dentist was awful: she filed the tooth down to a nub and then told me it was so low it needed to be pulled because it couldn’t work with a new crown. She then referred me to a friend of hers who practiced as a dental surgeon (for a second opinion) — requiring more X-​rays and more fees — and that person said the same thing. Feeling defeated, but not wanting to lose the tooth, I did nothing for another year. (From what I can gather, this dentist has since left Evanston.) Through a wonderful twist of fate, a sister visited Dr. Martini’s office and, knowing my bad experience, suggested I see him about my tooth. To my relief and eternal gratitude, Dr. Martini told me he could save the tooth and fit it with a new crown, which he then did, rather effortlessly. Anyone who has suffered with a broken or missing tooth can imagine my tremendous relief. He also took seriously my concerns about other teeth that need work and helped me sort out a treatment plan, something the other dentist never did. I’ve since recommended Dr. Martini to several colleagues who have had bad experiences with dentists. He’s certainly restored my faith in the profession.

Between retiring and moving to a new city, I did not see a dentist for two years. By pure luck, I got a postcard in the mail offering an introductory visit at low cost to the Evanston Dental Center, and my retirement income being miniscule, I took the offer. Having had great dentists and less-​than-​great dentists, I knew this experience could go either way. But I was delighted to meet Dr. Martini and his competent, efficient, professional staff, and now – a year later – have only good things to report.
My first visit was an initial assessment and cleaning, both conducted by the Doctor himself, since this was my initial visit. He explained every single thing he did with clarity and patience. The exam was very thorough, including basic x-​rays, images from an in-​mouth camera, and cleaning with standard scaling tools AND a high-​pressure water pick – which I had never experienced before. Unfortunately, my mouth was not in good shape. Together, Dr. Martini and I agreed on a plan to get my mouth back to health – including what would be my first ever root canal and crown.
With a lot of dollars on the line, no insurance to defray costs, and having heard root canal horror stories, I still had high hopes for my experience, based on my positive first visit. The multiple procedures went smoothly, I had very little residual pain after the root canal, and the new crown is performing just like a real tooth. $$$ well-​spent and I am completely satisfied with the work.
I just had my third cleaning and assessment today, and while it is not happy news that I need another crown, I am confident that the experience will be the closest thing to enjoyable that any trip to the dentist can be! I actually look forward to seeing Dr. Martini and his technicians, and I believe you too will have a positive experience when you go there!

I had to find a new dentist in the suburbs due to job change. I really liked my old dentist and was scared and hesitant to make a change BUT have been very pleased with Dr. Martini and his work.
I have had a couple things done, all of which went smoothly. You can tell he is very detailed and thorough in his work, which I love and appreciated! He also does all he can to ensure shots are as painless as possible (thanks). lol
Overall, I recommend him as his work is good and his staff is very pleasant. They have all been very friendly & welcoming.

Super clean and warm atmosphere! Dr. Martini keeps my comfort level in continuous check and he has kept my teeth in tip top shape for 7 years! The hygienist, Kathy, makes my teeth super smooth and shiny. She is very thorough and professional.

My experience with Dr. Martini couldn’t be better. He is conservative, that is he does not over treat. He explains everything he is going to do. Most important my crown and my root canal were virtually painless! Your «mouth» couldn’t be in better hands.
