Shayla is amazing!!! I was in desperate need of a good massage. I work in restaurants and I stand most days around 12 – 14 hrs just at work. Needless to say, tension had built everywhere. Shayla had the perfect touch and adjusted to my extremely sensitive thighs. Definitely going back, I can’t wait to try the sugar scrub and massage package!!!

The other night I went and got a deep tissue massage from Katie. She was phenomenal. Was very mindful of the right amount of pressure I needed. I also enjoyed that she did a full body massage and used lavender oil, it made my time that much more relaxing. The only thing I wished for was darker lighting.
Also Shelby at the front desk was amazing! Super courteous, prompt, and professional. I booked another appointment at the Spa for my usual waxing! Excited!

I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately with so much going on at work. My husband thought it was a good idea that I go to for a massage. I was paired up with Katie who gave me the most amazing 90 minute relaxation massage. It was the first time I’ve slept until 6:30 in a long time. I’ve been getting up at 4:30 a.m. because of all the stress in my life. She really knocked the stress out of me and I highly recommend you! Thank you Katie!

I had a bad experience my first time but they definitely turned it around. I didn’t expect them to read my review or take it into consideration, so I was very surprised to get a voicemail about giving me a complimentary no-​chip.
My second experience is the best experience I’ve had. I used to go to a salon in Skokie and now I think I have a new place and new girl, Ana.
She is amazing! Perfect. I love my nails and I can’t wait to go back again. And I also appreciate Tatyana apologizing. I don’t mean to call her out but it is very nice for her to say sorry, most people will not.
They were definitely better and the receptionist, Shelby was nicer and more friendly. I love this place now. It is more for the money but I love it.

I rarely post reviews on Unilocal,but I had such spectacular service at Egea Spa today that I needed to let the world know.
I’ve been going to Egea Spa for years and I have never had a disappointing treatment. The atmosphere is calming, the spa is extremely clean and the prices are some of the best I’ve seen compared to the waxes and massages I get in the city.
But TODAY I need to give a shout-​out to my rock-​star aesthetician, Holly! I walked in 15 minutes late for a wax and she managed to fit me in. She gave me the exact service I needed in half of the allotted time. The wax was thorough and as comfortable as a wax can be. I’ve only seen Holly a few times, but she always remembers exactly what I like. For the first time in a decade of waxing, I can honestly say that my aesthetician made my day. Thank you!

I had a massage here last week with Jasmine and dang, was it good. I get roughly 3 massages a year, so while I’m not an expert at what makes a great masseuse/​masseur, I’ve got a decent sample size under my belt. Jasmine actually listened to me about my trouble spots AND the amount of pressure I wanted, which should be expected but often seems to be forgotten by the therapist. The only caveat was that she commented on how sweaty I was (to be fair, I was sweaty), which made me self-​conscious, but it was all a wash when considering how good the massage was. Usually only go for Gilt deals (which sadly this was not), but I will be coming back and paying full price to see her again!

I’ve been going to Egea for a couple of years for massages. I like that you can buy a series (6 at a time) and get a discount. The massage therapists are fairly consistent and I almost always feel I get a good massage.
However, as others have mentioned there are issues that impact my overall experience such as:
1. Not being acknowledged when I come in – at least front desk can make eye contact and hold up a finger to say just a sec or something
2. Arriving early to change for my appointment and not being shown back to change until AFTER my appointment should have started
3. Having staff in and out of the changing room when I’m trying to change or shower (there is no privacy)
4. Sitting in the waiting area after I’ve changed for my massage therapist to come and get me and finally having to go up to the reception desk (in my robe) to find out what’s taking so long
5. Lots of loud talking, slamming of cabinet doors, etc., by staff outside the room where I’m being massaged
All in all, the massages themselves are fine. But for the price, I really do expect a more spa-​like environment rather than the kind of health-​club/​locker room kind of experience. Additionally, I expect to be able to start my appointment at the time I’ve scheduled it and not have time up front shaved off of my appointment waiting, especially when I arrive in advance to change and be ready for the appointment to begin.

This is not a «wellness» spa. I brought my friend here for a massage as she was in town visiting. Upon seeing the extensive scarring on her back from her double mastectomy, she was refused service. Had she been asked to fill out an intake form (as is customary) her therapist would have known this in advance. I complained at the time, but no one ever followed up with me. I will never be going back. I posted this review a few months ago and I see that it was removed. Let’s see if this one gets to stay.

I visited Egea for a facial yesterday and, let me tell you, my skin feels great! The facial itself was very soothing, and the esthetician was welcoming, took her time, and seemed to enjoy sharing her knowledge.
However… I expected the overall experience to be a little more spa-​like, especially considering the price. There were loud side conversations by the front desk staff (one girl apparently showing off a photo of a «cute guy» on her phone), uncomfortable plastic slip-​on sandals and a locker-​room feel to the changing areas.
Also, my pet peeve in any industry is product pushing. I know this is «a thing that happens» at skin care places, but a good 10 minutes was spent talking about the $ 160 worth of products recommended for me. During the service, my esthetician also told me how much I needed their laser treatments and something else that I don’t remember. I’d rather end my first visit to a particular spa on a relaxing note (read: no decision making), and come back another time after I’ve had time to see how my skin has reacted to the treatment.
Overall, especially if cost isn’t an issue for you, this place seems to cover the basics. I think I just expected a little more.

I came here to get a foot massage after being diagnosed with plantar fasciitis. After the massage therapist Dallas spent 30 minutes on my lower legs and feet, for the first time in 6 months I wasn’t in chronic pain! I’ve already scheduled my next two appointments with him :)

Favorite place in Evanston to receive all kinds of treatments. Great massages, top-​quality waxing, very friendly staff and fantastic service.
That being said, brow wax is a hit or a miss. I’ve had it done there by three different aestheticians and two out of the three times it was fantastic and I got lots of compliments on them. However, the last time I went, I got my brow wax done by Ava, who is really sweet but she really messed up the shape of my brows. They originally had great shapes that just needed some trimming and waxing around, but somehow they are now lopsided and uneven. I’m reminded of this experience every time I fill in my brows now. I forgot her name, but there is a half-​korean aesthetician who works there, and she literally gave me the most beautiful brows I could ask for. I’m definitely going to stick with her from now.
I really love this place and I go get myself pampered every month. The past month was the first negative experience I’ve had. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

When I moved here from NYC, I was terrified I wouldn’t find a waxer as good as the one I had back home. Thanks to Unilocal,I stumbled upon Egea Spa and I’ve been seriously impressed with the results every time! Over the past few months I’ve seen multiple waxers (Holly, Jenny) and while they each have slightly different techniques for Brazilian waxes, they all have been super friendly, clean, and efficient (aka you’re in pain for less time). I will definitely be coming back for the remainder of my time in Evanston!
I gave 4 stars as I haven’t tried any other services!

I’ve had three massages over the last year at times when neck muscle pain and tightness were interfering with sleep.
Marcia was my massage therapist all three times and I’m so grateful for her skilled hands which resolved my pain and made me feel like a new woman. I highly recommend Marcia.

I have been here several times for their no-​chip manicures. They last forever ! Not only are the staff attentive and sensitive to your personal needs, they really enjoy real conversations and getting to know you not only as a customer, but as an individual.

UPDATE 10÷16÷15 — Dana very kindly offered me a complimentary massage to «replace» the bad experience I had two weeks ago. I was a bit skeptical going back, but holy cow, Camille gave me the absolute BEST massage I’ve ever had in my life. We talked beforehand, she listened to my concerns, and was perfectly professional. My back and shoulders feel so much less tense, will definitely be going back. Thanks, Egea Spa! I love you!

Went in today for a brow wax, massage, and pedicure. Wax was great and the woman I had (whose name I forget) was incredibly friendly. Next, I had a massage from Morgan. Awesome. Loved her and my massage. Just the right amount of pressure, and a perfect balance of working out kinks while maintaining a relaxing experience. My pedicure was from Ana, who did an excellent job helping me pick out a color and with the nails themselves. However, she did seem like she was kind of in a rush to get on to the next customer. She barely spoke to me during it, but I actually appreciated it because I was in a relaxed trance from my massage and just zoned out.
I will definitely be back!

The most horrible I have yet to experience at a spa. Their staff were insensitive and uncomfortable after I was refused service by their massage therapist. I have suffered enough going through my double prophylactic bilateral mastectomies but to be served with such rashness was appalling and an experience I can’t forget. After my friend confronted on my treatment, the staff lied to her that I refused to sign a waiver which they never offered. What wellness spa is this? I am still in shock of the treatment I have gotten and have been to two massages since then. Maybe this place is for the perfect, hoity toity folks, I will pass.

It’s a bit pricey, but you pay what you get for! I am currently waiting in entrance while my mother is getting a birthday facial. Everyone seems super nice. My sister and I paid before my mother came in so she wouldn’t worry about a thing and everything went smoothly.

Came here for a facial a couple of weeks ago. The place is quaint, with light blues and creams throughout. Service was friendly and professional, however not super relaxing.
I like to have silence during my facials with a dark room. The lights were on and the facialist was talking a little too much. Furthermore, they left this mask on my face and left me alone in the room for a good 10 minutes without doing any massaging. Typically when masking its the prime time for an arm and shoulder massage, and a head massage. The person just left the room.
Nothing too outstanding or relaxing about it, the person I was with and I both decided we liked another place in the city much better.
