How do I love thee… let me count the ways… First I’d like to tell the reader that they have TWO pick up locations. If you don’t want to go to Evans, there is one on Broad St. across from the Kroc Center. I usually park there, it’s after 5:30 and skip across the grass. Remember to bring some reusable bags to get your stuff! Meanwhile, I tried that«green store that takes much of your paycheck» and found it to be seriously disappointing! I mean let’s get serious here… level 1 meats are about the same as any other grocery and NOT why I’d pay so much more. I was so excited to find this website which has locations all over(so I’m totally saving it in case I move again). The«store» opens online on Friday with how much of what is available from real local farms and artisans. You scoop up the goodies and pay to make sure you get that last share of jalapeños… then pick it all up on Tuesday night. They have veg, fruit, all kinds of meats, dairy, flowers, herbs, candles, soaps, baked goods… etc. Go, have a look! You can chose from grass fed, organic, pasture raised… all of the things I adore. I found the size of share and freshness to be very good. Make sure you check everything and don’t leave without some greens… like I did. Everything seems to last so much longer because it’s fresh! I wish I had found this years ago…

Stop eating crap and start eating great ingredients and fresh foods available from local farmers. I can’t say anything bad about the Augusta Locally Grown(ALG) they are so well organized and offer a lot for the money. Of course, ALG links farmers to consumers via the internet. Orders are placed every Friday at noon thru Sunday at 8pm. Buyers have two locations in Augusta to pick up — Evans Town Center or West End bakery in the old Harrisburg community of Augusta. We haven’t really been to a grocery store since beginning with ALG back in June. We order fresh milk, pasture raised eggs; grass fed beef and pork; vegetables galore from farmers who have now become acquainted with me. I support the local farmers, eat well and all at a modest cost. Once you start with ALG you’ll always wonder why you spent your hard earned money at the chain stores. Buyers also get to know their farmers and the farmers are always eager to answer your questions about how they farm organic, etc. I buy all of my meats for the month and re-stock the milk, eggs and veggies weekly. Always something great to prepare for meals!

I love being able to get fresh fruit and veggies from local farmers. But this is even cooler-browsing online and picking out what I want without standing elbow to elbow on an early Sunday morning so far from home. You log on the website Friday-Sunday and take time to scroll through the 600 items and pick out what you’d like to pick up on Tuesday. You’ll find all sorts of baked goods, cheeses, laundry items and hand made health items. The good thing about this online farmers market is being able to take your time to compare and step back to assess your needs. The even better thing about this market is that it supports locals. Gotta love it. :-) 30⁄2014

Shopping local couldn’t get any easier than this. I’ve used the service for close to 2 years, and I’ve never had a problem with the quality of the goods, the pricing, or the service I’ve received when picking up the food.

Local fruits, veggies, plants, milk, meat, pastries & so much more. It is incredible to me that this place exists! Local farmers & makers list their items online, you login and place an order, and go pick it up at the assigned day & time at the assigned location(there are 2 other locations in town). It still needs a little organization – basically, when you go pick up, they hunt down your order items one by one, then hand them to you for double checking and payment. If they could only place each family’s items together before the lines start growing(sigh). But otherwise perfect, and a great sense of community & joy & of course, you get to feed your family local, mostly organic food, and it is totally convenient. How amazing is that?
