Santas Christmas Trees Forest

So we went here during the week to get our Christmas tree… A Fraser fir since Douglas and Frasers last much longer than FL pines (fyi) and it was so much fun. The tree was a great price and it wasn’t crowded. Tip: if you want to avoid the insane crowds of this place on the weekends take a half day and go during the week!

After hearing about this place for many years we finally checked them out during Halloween. The key to these type of places is going when it is not overly crowded, which can ruin your experience. We got here as many others were leaving so did not have to wait for anything. Entrance into the farm is free but most other activities will cost you. Paid activities include the hayride, bounce pillow, pony ride and zip line. Free activities include the petting farm, hay bales to climb on and tons of photo opps. They also had a fire going presumably to cook out on, although we didn’t see anyone doing so. They had a large area devoted to pumpkins and the prices were competitive. We let each kid pick out a pumpkin and told them the only condition was they’d have to carry their own (to prevent them from picking a 2 ton pumpkin, lol)
There did not seem to be enough restrooms available (some were closed) for the crowd. However, at least the one I found flushed! The petting farm was really cute. You could actually go in the pen with the kids (as in baby goats) which were very friendly and obviously used to people. They also had a small enclosure where you could hold a chick. There were ducks, cows, a donkey and more. A nice way to spend a few hours– next year when we get a real tree we may check this out during Christmas.

This place is very overcrowded and dusty with lines for everything. Seemed like cattle herding for people. And don’t hope for a quick stop to the rest room. There are not enough restrooms for the crowd. Maybe it would be better if they had a limit of people to the amenities provided. If the trees are cheaper than elsewhere, plan to pick one up and leave.

The zip lines and hay rides and such were a lot of fun and I really wanted to like this place. But when it was time to go they lost our tree. Instead of taking any kind of responsibility for it they said it was most likely a customer that took it and said we would have to go find another. I got a refund instead and got a tree elsewhere.

Great fun for the whole family! Petting zoo, a maze, zip lines, pony… AND hay rides. What more can you ask for? You can purchase an already cut tree or cut one down yourself. I swear, these guys are smart. It’s like the Korean BBQ joints where you pay to cook your own food.
I highly highly highly highly suggest you go to the bathroom before arriving, it is the longest attraction.

I’ve been getting Christmas trees here for the past five years. It’s kind of become a tradition. I don’t know what it is about cutting down your own tree but it feels better. Maybe it’s the feeling of being out in the tree’s natural setting (well, as natural as evenly spaced rows of trees can be.) Maybe it’s the fresh air. Maybe it’s that when you cut your tree down, if you listen closely, you can hear it screaming. I don’t know, but I like it.
If you go on the weekend it’s a lot more festive. There are hay rides, petting zoo, Maze and shows for the kids and people dressed in holiday outfits. Anytime I’m handed a hacksaw by a young lady in an elf costume I know good times are afoot.
The trees are grouped into lots depending on type and are priced by type not height. Because a 4′ grand fir costs the same as a 10′ grand fir it makes it very easy to bring home a ridiculously over sized tree. You can also get fresh cut northern trees. Believe me, you will love it.
