I’m downgrading to 3 stars bc although my daughter likes the burritos and the crunchy beef tacos are good… The barbacoa was bland and the sauce tasted like watered down bottled BBQ. The meat didn’t taste grilled or charred. The nachos were terrible. Chips were a little stale and the nacho cheese was flavorless as was the«guacamole.» The guacamole was just a green liquid on the chips. Most of it got thrown in the trash. I’m being reminded of these all morning if you know what I mean. Making real guacamole is not that hard and certainly more flavorful. We thought this place would be convenient on nights we didn’t want to cook but we make better Mexican food at home and we are not inconvenienced by it the next morning.

Tom and Rosa are great people, and the food is always good. I especially love the chili relleno.

Tasty Tacos is typical of many Eureka eateries… overpriced, inauthentic food, made my a white guy. That being said, it IS better than Rita’s and the best advice I can give to someone who has not been here is ONLYORDERONETHING because the portions are huge. I thought the prices were outrageous until I got my food and realized that a $ 6 ‘tostada’ is actually a styrofoam to-go box completely STUFFED with chips and toppings and a single tasty taco weighs about a pound and was impossible to eat in one sitting. While I appreciate a mountain of leftovers as much as the next hippie, I can’t help but wish that this place would focus more on quality over quantity. A few simple changes, such as using better cheese and produce and seasoning the beans would really amp up this place. The location is great for those of us who like to stay in the Cutten Bubble. Order one thing, get the spicy salsa, and don’t ask for any extras because you will not need them and you will be charged $ 2 more.

It’s hilarious how they claim to be authentic mexican food. I’m from San Diego area, so I’m used to super cheap and delicious mexican food, and I understand I’m not going to find that here in humboldt but even compared to other mexican places in Eureka this place really really was a shame to their claim of being«authentic». I’m suprised with the high reviews but I think it’s because maybe the locals(whom I respect) just haven’t had real mexican food before? Not their fault. Also probably because they give you a good amount of food for the price(because normally everything is 10 dollars or more in Eureka)… I got a bean, cheese, rice burrito with a veggie taco and a side of guacamole and a coke. It costed me like 14 dollars. I asked if I could have a cup of water before I decided to buy the coke, but they told me no. Who denies you water? Oh wait, they are too cheap to buy paper cups so they would rather force thirsty paying customers to buy something. Super small amount of guacamole. I couldnt believe it was 2 dollars, it shouldve been 50cents. And when I tasted it, it tasted like mayonnaise or something! It was so gross! It did not taste like avocados at all. It tasted like someone mixed mayonnaise with green powder«guac» mix… The actual taco had a tiny amount of beans then a shitload of shredded lettuce, some tomatoes, hot sauce, and cheese. The kind of cheese that is white and orange shredded«mexican» blend that you buy at the grocery store. It wasnt melted either. It was basically a salad I was eating with a good tortilla. The burrito is what bummed me out the most. Yes, it was large. but it was not good. It had almost no beans in it at all! It was 90% rice! Are you kidding me? And the rice wasn’t even good spanish rice. I’m so bummed. It was definitely NOT worth my money. I could’ve bought the same ingredients at winco and made something so much better. I almost went to ask for my money back because I was so bummed. Another customer came in though so I didnt want to make a scene. I can’t believe people love this place… You are all missing out on TRUE authentic mexican food.

The name speaks for itself. The fresh corn tortillas make these tacos so delicious. Can’t wait to go and try something else.

This place is SO much more than it’s name. I’m a huge sucker for fresh/housemade tortillas, and they make both corn and flour. My heart. Vegan/Vegetarian friendly! The Tacos are huge, and incredible. The Burritos are even bigger. The owners are so generous with the portions — one veggie taco(comes with beans, rice, veggies, salsa, dairy options and a fresh lime) was super filling, almost like a taco salad. But ohmygodyouguys did I mention FRESHTORTILLAS?!! I’m really at a loss for words to describe how delicious their food is, specifically because I’m a local and have driven by their location so many times without stopping. Shame on me. Can’t wait to go back and eat tasty tacos and more!!!

Always satisfied! Conveniently in my neighborhood. Fast service. Great for take-out! Friendly staff. Best Mexican food in town! Large portion sizes are great for left-overs. Reasonably priced.

Good food and good quality. Lots of vegetarian options. Recently they got rid of their Baja taco which was my favorite so I was bummed about that. It’s the kind of food I can eat and not feel icky later. Taco tortillas could be a little better. Good burritos, tacos, quesadillas, and flan. Nice couple that owns it too.

This place is very close to where I live. The first time I had a meat taco — I’m not a fan of soft tacos, but the tortilla on this one was homemade! The 2nd time I had a chicken tamale with rice and beans. Very good flavors! Next time I’ll be trying the relleno, and then the tostada, and then … Oh yes, the flan is good too.

After reading in The North Coast Journal about their amazing burritos, we decided to give it a try tonight. My husband’s super burrito was huge and delicious. The only thing he needed to make it even better was some additional salsa. Guacamole would have been nice. We’ll add that next time. My veggie tostada for $ 5 was very good. The beans had a lot of flavor. If there was a tofu option I would have given them 5 stars. Very speedy service. Plenty of parking too.

Went here last night, this place was pretty good. my husband & I both got the wet burrito with green sauce, shredded beef and the hot salsa. I added guacamole to mine. The burrito was HUGE! It was pretty good. However I’m not a huge fan of everything being served in Styrofoam. First off I hate Styrofoam– it’s so bad for the environment– and it’s not the best in functionality either. If you stab your fork down to hard or cut to deep it’s going to poke a hole in the bottom and you’re going to have a mess. Normally it’s just used as a vessel to bring the food home, I don’t typically eat out of the«to go» containers. That aside I thought the food was good and I’ll return to try other dishes. I hear the tacos are amazing.

First time in here. Driven by many times and always joked about wanting a «tasty taco». So today we stopped in. WOW! We will be back. Authentic taco. Huge taco. Everything fresh and delicious. Sad to see a couple of bad reviews. We will eat here many more times and revise our review if need be. But after talking to the owner and his wife(who is the cook) I think all the items on their menu will be good. The soft flour tortilla taco shell is made when you order! Hey, this is the real stuff. Check it out. Hard to find but worth the search

Styrofoam overload. First time in. Lots of parking and yes clean, but tacky sparse. Can’t see the food being prepared. We had the very good, spicy chicken tamale and a huge bean rice burrito. Only bottled drinks and even if you eat there it comes in a big styrofoam box. Hard to eat out of and sadly the trash was full of the containers. Said plates were too expensive. Could be better

This place is great if you want an all rice burrito!!! I’m amazed that so many reviews rate it so high. In truth, Tasty Tacos doesn’t hold a candle to Pachangas.

Delicious food. The taco tortillas are made onsite, offering a unique experience that I’ve not found elsewhere. The burritos are good as well. It’s amazingly fast — I had a meeting in 20 minutes that I made with time to spare after driving there, ordering, eating, and driving back to the hospital. That said you won’t feel rushed to leave either. The ambiance is pretty spartan, but clean. Eat Tasty!

Tiny place right down the street from my house. I go here quite a lot, because it is amazing. The food here is best described as huge, tasty, and affordable. It’s run and staffed by a man and woman who I’m pretty sure are married. I usually get two tasty tacos with hot salsa, different meat every time. They are like hot dog size, not little tacos like you get at a lot of taco trucks, and they drip with flavor. Literally. The burritos are huge also, and very tasty. They are open on weekdays only. Your guess is as good as mine as to what they do on weekends, I like to imagine they roam the streets and fight crime, keeping the neighborhood safe and delicious.

This place was gross. If you like frozen food and microwaves, head on over quickly. We stopped in for«authentic mexican food,» and were completely disappointed. I didn’t even eat my fish taco. It was like some frozen, pre-breaded, deep friend piece of fishy, fish. They put canned Nacho type cheese on my husband’s nachos and melted it in the microwave before they poured it on. We could’ve had better food at the gas station. The place seemed clean, but the food was definitely not fresh and the man behind the counter seemed like he was exhausted and would rather have been somewhere else. There was nothing authentic about this place. If you think there is, you’ve never been to Mexico. Will not return again. Bummer cuz it’s in my hood.

Traveling from Los Angeles, stopped in here by chance, ordered a couple of «authentic» style tacos. Steak with onion cilantro and tomatillo sauce. They were excellent and large. I was expecting the classic«street» taco, but these were as good if not better. The tortillas were hand made, stone ground type — excellet! The tomatillo sauce was excellent as well. Came w/a side of rice and beans on a separate plate — also very good. It was more than enough to eat for $ 9. The resteraunt is fairly new, clean and comfortable. Opperator/Owner was nice as well. Good eats here!
