History

Established in 2008.

Oberon Grill opened in 2008 in the same location as the original Oberon Grill of 1908. It is located at 516 2nd Street in Old Town, Eureka, and features the same chandelier from past times. The bar recreated by Wallace and Hines captures the feeling of an interior of the last century.

Upstairs, the Ruby Room, a small banquet facility can seat up to 35 guests, and has a full bar available for your party.

Meet the Business Owner

Roy, Susan and Nicholas K.

Business Owner

Roy, Susan and Nicholas Kohl opened Oberon Grill as a family restaurant in Old Town Eureka. All of the family have owned businesses in Old Town for up to 25 years and are committed to small business in Eureka. Roy and Susan have owned retail stores including Natural Selection and Pacific Flavors. Their son, Nicholas, started in the restaurant business as a dishwasher/prep cook for the Waterfront Oyster Bar, and then went on to complete training at the Western Culinary Academy (now Cordon Bleu) in Portland, Oregon. He has worked at Sonoma Mission Inn, Pazzo’s and owned his own coffee shop in Eureka, 321 Coffee. In 2006, with the closing of Pacific Flavors, an opportunity came to develope an exciting new concept with the Oberon Grill. Two years from concept to opening, Oberon Grill opened in the summer of 2008.
