McKenny’s Do It Best Building Centers

This was an adequate hardware store, but it’s now closed permanently. The Unilocal page should be updated to reflect that – or deleted altogether.

RUDE people! My sister and I went there yesterday and got treated like dirt because it was almost closing time. Instead of trying to help, they acted like they were out of what we wanted so we would leave. Will NEVER go back. I would rather pay more somewhere else than deal with the loser old men that make minimum wage.

Great staff and customer service. Not always the best selection or best prices but everything is fair. I shop there maybe once a month for random things for the wood shop. I like how convenient it is and how I’m always greeted with a smiling face

I have been going to this hardware store for a year now and never had a terrible experience until today. I was looking for a piece of hardware to hang a wreath with. A helpful employee offers assistance but what he recommended was not really what I was looking for. I carried that bracket around while looking for other options. I found two others that I liked better so I put the first bracket back and went to the checkout.
I was then greeted by a young woman who had asked me if I needed help while I was looking at my other bracket options. She rudely asked me where the white bracket went that I had in my hands earlier. I told her that I didn’t like it so I put it back. She told me that I seemed tense and asked why. I told her that I have not been accused of shoplifting in my entire life and it was infuriating. My patronage to this establishment has forever been tainted by this experience. The cashier was rude, did not apologize and came up with irrational excuses as to why she insulted me.
I will share this experience with friends and family alike and hope that this review has helped anyone looking for a friendly neighborhood hardware store. McKenny’s is not that store.

Really well staffed. They are very friendly here. Not the largest selection, but I usually always find what I need. The building materials section pretty much has everything.

This was the third store that I went to looking for picket fence panels, they told me the same the others «They Don’t Carry Them». But they were the first to say they could order them for me. Now that is straight up Customer Service. I know the first store I’ll check in the future. There rep knew what I was looking for, research it in front of me so we could work together finding the right item. Looking forward to going back.

I came here with a lot of questions; shopping for another person who didn’t give me very many specifics, but the employees were helpful and I got everything I needed!

Good selection. Staff very helpful. Women can get good advice on fix-​it projects.

This place is really handy. The location is convenient and if you need it, they probably have it. We were sent here to pick up an item and were immediately greeted by a friendly employee who eagerly showed us the way to the item we needed. What great service!
