Carson Park Design

Two and a half years ago, Carson Park Design helped the nonprofit I directed develop a new logo and brochure. As my review then (1÷13÷2012) indicated, it was a pleasure working with Joel and Lynn, their products were professional and attractive, and their prices were reasonable.
In June of this year, my husband and I purchased a local retail business. We knew that we wanted to rebrand the store, update the image, and expand our marketing efforts. Based on my prior experience, I knew that Carson Park Design was the right team for us to work with.
This time around, Joel and Lynn’s involvement has been much more extensive. In addition to a fresh new logo and the accompanying business cards, gift certificates, product bags, etc., Carson Park has helped us with internal and external signage, color selection for exterior painting, and more. They have even found local sources – which is important to us as local business owners ourselves – to produce the products we’ve needed, at very competitive rates.
We’re now discussing further marketing efforts, including print and social media ads, and Joel and Lynn are with us every step of the way, helping us «keep the brand intact.» We couldn’t be happier with our decision to work with Carson Park Design, and we feel extremely fortunate to have such quality professionals in our small community. We highly recommend Carson Park Design to anyone looking to develop, refresh, or grow their business presence.

This company is amazing! They offer great feedback and have such a creative flare. I use them for so much, sometimes just to brainstorm an idea that might help my business.

This couple kindly answered a spur of the moment call from us one rainy day last month. We needed some quick information on website ownership and domain names. We really didn’t know who to ask about this and had some potential problems with regard to our business. They invited us in, listened to our problem, asked some pertinent questions and we were given excellent advice and information on other resources to further assist us. After spending a solid hour, they refused to charge us. This couple not only gave us advice that has since been backed up by others but their attitude about helping us and not charging was so refreshing! We will be using their expertise in the future!

Carson Park Design is an excellent design and advertising firm. We often call upon them for with graphics and web design. In addition, their print work is superb. They’ve greatly improved the look of the Eureka Chamber of Commerce newsletter and now do the graphics for the Humboldt Area Foundation yearbook. Their advice is always valuable and they’re extremely flexible and quick with requested changes in design work. We will continue to collaborate with them on projects large and small.

I question the competency of this place…
Called them for a simple project. Wanted a very simple design enlarged/​touched up for a print. I could barely get a word out on the phone — it seemed like all this Joel character wanted to do was talk over me, show me how much he knew about design rather than listen to anything I had to say. Initially, he said it would cost between $ 30-​$ 50 for a print, but later he raised the price to $ 1000 due to the engraving in the design. I was thinking, ‘Whoa, guy… $ 1000?! What do you take me for? This is just a print job, man!’ It just seemed like he didn’t want to take on my project but instead of being direct he decided to give me absolutely absurd figures. After that letdown, I called a friend and asked for help. Friend said the project was cake, finished it in less than an hour (free of charge). I later printed at Ellis Art & Engineering (awesome local bizz) for $ 25…

Joel emailed me a few days ago and apologized for both the ‘misunderstanding’ over pricing and not being a ‘good listener’. Although I’m sure this review prompted the apology, I guess that’s worth another star, right?

These guys know how to do graphics! Joel and Lynn are fun, professional, and enthusiastic about their craft. Their expertise will quickly reassure any customer that their project is in good hands. From whimsical to serious, ideas run the spectrum of possibility. They’re as good as any metro operation and a better value, with small town friendliness and accessibility. Thanks, guys!
