This place was horrible! The food was cold when it was served. The restaurant was dirty and so were the dishes. The service was just as bad. Never going again. The reviews are totally not accurate.

Lackluster food, strange atmosphere, bad service. Just felt dirty. Not impressed and the food was not worth the price. In my opinion not a good place to eat.

I’m not sure if the other reviews are about the place we visited. We went to Oasis, down a flight of stairs and it was tiny. They claim to serve Ark-​Mex (ummmm, ok) with fresh ingredients.
We walked in (did my due diligence and checked Unilocal) and was assaulted with what I hoped was the smell of Mexican. Several hours and I’m still not sure if it was Mex or BO. The waitress was running around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to wait on 3 tables. And messed up the order on one of those. Let’s be clear, it was 3 tables of just two in a room the size of a cheap hotel room. After looking up at us like we were crazy for walking in, she told us to take whichever 2 top we liked and she would be with us as soon as she could. Which took a minute, a long minute, a really long minute. Be prepared, bring a book or your phone or something.
We had the chicken and blue cheese enchiladas, the portobello and spinach enchiladas and the Tostitos and green salsa. The salsa was great, different is good. The enchilada plates were ok, not something I would ever go back for.
Fifteen minutes after we were obviously done we just got up and stood at the register to get our check. This place is cash only, be warned. Another few minutes and we were out and breathing fresh air again.
Maybe not the worst I have ever experienced but far from repeatable.

Four star food. One star service. I don’t need an explanation of how tips are divided with the staff, that you are working nine days in a row, or other details about working. I work hard too. Just give me the food with an exasperated sigh every time I ask for the drink which was clearly forgotten.

It’s been almost a year since my husband and I honeymooned in Eureka Springs, and I can honestly say that I haven’t eaten anything since then that could compare to the mind-​blowingly delicious meal we had at The Oasis. We have been craving it ever since.
This. Place. Is. Amazing.
**The restaurant is hidden away right in the heart of Eureka– tucked into the stair/​alleyway between two buildings. Inside it looks like it’s in an old apartment that’s been renovated. It’s small but they pack a huge experience into this tiny space, so don’t let the humble atmosphere fool you. These people know what they’re doing and the food is incredible. If I lived nearby I would probably eat there twice a week. My mouth waters just thinking about it! Nancy, who served us, was so nice and interesting to talk to, so that just made the experience even better. (Hello Nancy– we’re the couple from Norman, OK!) We felt like we were having brunch at an old friend’s house. The price was amazing too– I don’t remember exactly but I know we were surprised that it was so so cheap.
The food at The Oasis alone is worth the drive out to Eureka Springs. If you get within 200 miles of this place YOU HAVE TO GO. Check their hours and days of operation first, though, and plan accordingly.
****** Reading some of the other reviews, it looks like The Oasis has moved to a larger venue. We can’t wait to see the new digs next time we visit!!! Congrats to The Oasis family!

The food was light, fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere:“chill”. Service was good and the price reasonable. I’d recommend Oasis as your first food stop in Eureka Spring to enjoy excellent «Ark-​Mex».

Let me start off with the positive, the salsa was great. Outstanding. Unfortunately the salsa came with generic Tostitos styled round chips. My dish was good, if not outstanding. There were two items on the specialty menu that sounded great, but they were unfortunately out of and I am let down that I didn’t get to try them. Maybe next time.
Be aware that you need to have cash, and definitely go for the refillable salsa. I could drink that stuff.

Very good. Chicken blue cheese enchilada was delicious. Bison and spinach enchilada was very flavorful. Friendly and (appropriately) engaging service. Vegan beans on the side needed a bit of salt, but better that than the other way around. Fresh salsa verde and chips were a nice start. Cash only.

Traveler review: tiny place down the stairs between buildings. Find it! You’ll know you’re close when the street starts to smell good. Practically meatless menu with meat specials on the board. Mostly corn tortillas with burritos on whole wheat. Don’t expect it to be like any Mexican food you’ve had before and it’ll be a fun new experience… not life altering, but fun and healthy food in AR. It’s like a Mexican food joint and your fav vegetarian place back home smashed into each other. A beautiful veg-​mex baby!

Oasis is the best place in town for breakfast/​brunch. It’s a great example of a little hole in the wall restaurant with excellent food. It’s awesome to be able to watch the cook dancing around and having a good time while making your food. This is truly a Eureka Springs treasure. Food is great and seating is limited so come early, and bring cash because they don’t take plastic. With a ton of excellent restaurants all over this town, if I spend 3 days in Eureka Springs I will be eating 3 breakfasts at Oasis. It’s that good.

Heard it was worth going to, we were not disappointed. The wife and I went as kind of a late lunch, tide you over before dinner kinda deal. We shared the chips and salsa (incredible verde salsa, chips are store bought and fine by me), and the daily special barbacoa enchiladas. Food had great flavor all around. This plate included two enchiladas, pinto beans and nice little vinaigrette salad.
Service was great, how could it not be in a place this small though. Everyone is right there in about a 12×10 area. The ladies that were working were nice and fun to talk to. I would love to go back for dinner some night.

We landed in this place since a native Eurekan friend told me «eat ark-​mex brunch at the Oasis, my absolute favorite» when I asked her for things to do and places to eat in her hometown. So here I was in the middle of a Harley Davidson invasion trying to locate the place. I guess it wasn’t easy because the noise was too distracting, or maybe the fact that the entrance is half way a stairwell. Good thing the street jewelry seller overheard our conversation and pointed us in the right direction.
We entered the less than 8 tables place (maybe it has more, but it is tiny! so tiny it made me think of Al’s breakfast in Minneapolis –Google it if you haven’t been there it’s so tiny it makes it great!-).
Funny thing, we were told the morning was really busy and there was no cream, milk or eggs @ about 11:30 am. Too bad for a brunch seeker like me, so after initial disappointment (I didn’t even wanted salsa and chips to begin with) my partner asked for salsa and chips to entertain our bellies while we looked at the menu. The salsa is/​was AWESOME and we fought over the chips. As we debated if we needed more salsa somebody actually just walked in to pick two bottles of salsa, which made us think about it too. We ended up ordering from the menu, tacos, burritos and such, which were served with generous fresh salads. Yum!
Still today I’m still trying to figure out what ark-​mex is, but my meal was great and Oasis offers a great fare for vegetarians which always helps since partner hasn’t eaten meat for a decade now. Worth a visit. It’s fresh, tasty, homemade, groovy & cheap!

I hesitate to help this hidden gem explode into the main stream of Eureka tourist traffic. However, it is Wonderful! My wife and I both had enchiladas, I had the shredded beef and she had the portobello and spinach. Best I have ever had! Hers was also to die for. Don’t miss the chips (ball park quality) and salsa. Truly killer, although heavy on the garlic. They do charge for them. Perhaps they should increase other prices, just a thought. They do not take plastic and the place is tiny, but don’t let that discourage you. Look down all those tiny alleys till you find it. You will not be disappointed.

I was visiting my parents for the holidays and we were looking for new restaurants to try. Boy, I’m sure glad I found Oasis on Unilocal!The food is deemed as «Ark-​Mex» and the menu offers a good amount of meat, vegetarian, and vegan options.
I had the Spring Street burrito and it was delicious! My dad had the Barbacoa enchiladas and my mom had a Chicken Frito Pie. We all enjoyed everything and will definitely be back once I visit again!

Inexpensive, very tasty and friendly. What’s not to like? Had the Larrito. Good vegitarian item.

Great little local joint with character (nothing chain-​like here) and good food. I’d recommend the barbacoa enchilada if it’s on special. If you like Applebee’s, you probably won’t like this place. If you love good food and the small business experience, go here.

Oasis is a cozy and inviting little Ark-​Mex café with incredibly delicious food, perfect my vegetarian preferences and my husband’s meat-​eating tastes. The Sweany burrito was to die for and I was told the barbacoa and the pork mole enchiladas were fantastic! We will definitely be back!

True to its name, the Oasis, is a fertile spot in the food desert that is the state of Arkansas. And even though Eureka Springs has significantly better offerings than you will typically find in Arkansas, the Oasis still stands above most every other restaurant.
Serving what they affectionately refer to as Ark-​Mex breakfast and brunch, they offer a variety of plates which will certainly fill your empty tummy. It may sound strange but imaging combining your favorite American breakfast joint with your favorite Mexican joint — Bam! Oasis is born.
Their salsa verde is fantastic and they make some killer enchiladas. Overall the menu offers many items and they are willing to work with you if you want something a little different. Not healthy food necessarily but great.
The food here is consistently good and the people friendly. They space can be tight and waiting is not uncommon during the busier times in Eureka.
It can be a bit difficult to find as it is essentially in between two buildings and down a flight of stairs. Making the name all the more appropriate.

I will admit that I was skeptical when the place was empty when we got there at noon on a Saturday, and the staff was fairly unprofessional. But then the place totally grew on me. It is uniquely Eureka — hippy and a bit flippant in a great way. My little hipster sister was in heaven. She was looking around at all the stuff on the walls and commenting that the boushy people one table over «didn’t get it.» They were whining because the place only takes cash and has no beef. She was right because they just did not get it. If you like Chevy’s, this isn’t going to be your place. You have to embrace it for its hole-​in-​the-​wall goodness!
The menu was unique with items like a goat cheese and spinach quesadilla and tofu. They have chicken but no beef or pork. My sister and I both got enchiladas. They were very tasty. They were covered in yummy melted cheese instead of enchilada sauce. It was good, just not what I was expecting. The enchiladas came with beans and rice. At most Mexican places, I don’t even touch the beans and rice that they plop on the side, because usually the rice is overcooked and/​or dry and the beans are just blah. But here the beans and rice were great. They were well cooked and flavorful. I scraped my plate clean.
By the end of the meal, I think I finally «got» this place.
