I purchased 3 awnings with valances recently through Home Depot. Awning #1 over my sliding door; Awning #2& #3 over west facing windows. All arrived without the necessary screws. Awning #1 over the sliding door installed by my superior handyman & once installed is perfect. Awning #2& #3 not so much. After my superior handyman had put up all the framework for both awnings he than attempted to put up the canvas’s only to discover that the front face bar was missing the Velcro needed to adhere the valance hence no flapping or flapping over of the valance. He discovered the velcro was placed on a top bar! Hence flapping valance. I spoke with Awntech direct and their solution was for me to take them down; package two 6 foot awnings & ship back & they would re-design to my specifications! Their excuse was a new design and I received the old design for my sliding door left in stock! I had ordered the exact same awning as the slider within 1 month of ordering the slider awning. I asked if Awntech would cover the cost of my superior handyman’s work to take both down, repackage and ship and they said no. Not one financial recompense was offered at all only that I go back to Home Depot. I spoke with Home Depot customer service who apologized for the inconvenience and after conversations with their team & supervisor I was offered a $ 40. gift card to cover the cost of velcro and or glue my superior handyman would need to secure the valance to the face bar. In my opinion Awntech took no responsibility for this mishap nor in the description of the product did they make it clear how the canvas was to adhere to the metal face bar and or top of the face bar. By the way, the new design? Back to the drawing board for Awntech because the canvas velcro doesn’t stretch & match up with the top of the bar velcro, design flaw. Oh and include screws please. I would definitely go with another Home Depot manufacturer for awnings and pass on Awntech Corporation. Kudos to Home Depot and their customer service team for offering support to an otherwise discontented customer.
