The Parlour Tattoo

Went in for a tattoo & got some smug kid who gave me more than I ever would have expected: after doing the requested design, he decided to just keep going with his own little «additions»… entirely regardless of what I wanted… just because he had to urge to. Yes, really.
Oh, and I bled ink for *weeks*, and the itching (especially in cold weather) didn’t stop for a *very* long time, either.
But other than that, yeah: I’d recommend any establishment that allows such flippantly/​grossly unprofessional behavior!

Found this tattoo shop on Unilocal and went to because of its high rating and recommendation. Did a walk in, waited about 20 minutes to have the sketch drawn up which I liked and proceeded with the tattoo. The artist that I was with ended up adding to without my approval. I was upset but figured I could add to the tattoo and make it look good. Three weeks after I got my tattoo my arm was clearly scarred and I went into the office to show the artist be stated that it was still healing. This isn’t my first tattoo and it was clearly scarred and they obviously didn’t wanna refund my money or do anything about it. Now three months later my tattoo is still scarred or as they stated when I went in «healing» I’m not completely happy with the tattoo mostly bc it’s scarred but it’s not horrible. Just would never goto this location again.

I’m visiting family for a wedding this weekend in Eugene, and I wanted to get a lil tattoo in my free time; found this shop on Unilocal,gave them a call, and was able to walk in and get an even better tattoo than what I was hoping for!!! Nathan did an amazing job of drawing up exactly what I wanted, and the tattoo itself came out PERFECT. Absolutely ecstatic!!! Definitely check these guys out, and super reasonable prices for very very quality pieces!

I live 2 hours away from this shop but I’ve made the drive to get all of my 3 tattoos on separate occasions just so I could be tatted by Jerry. I was super nervous to get my first one, (mountain range and coordinates in my fathers handwriting) and he added his personal touches to it making it look even better than what I had brought in. The second time I went I got matching tattoos with my mom and sister, and they got us in and out in little time! The bigger piece on my arm I came as a walk in and they were more than happy to do it right before they were closing. The staff is super helpful friendly, and give their professional opinions on every piece (which might be why some people have given negative reviews).
I no longer live in Oregon anymore, but when I go back to visit I definitely will be making a stop here. Theres no other artist that I would want to use. Overall I would highly recommend this shop to everyone.

Just walked out of my appointment with Justin Ryan and am really pleased! He did fantastic work on my foot tattoo and was really nice throughout the process. Pricing was pretty typical– the quality and good experience was well worth what I paid.
I would definitely recommend Justin and will go back for future tattoos.

Went here on a whim with my best friend to get my first tattoo (her sixth) and we couldn’t have been happier with how it went! We had Nathan (very cool dude awesome customer service!) the whole place was very clean and had an awesome professional vibe! When we arrived we were behind two other people so we went across the street to the Starbucks and waited until there was a chair open! All around great experience definitely coming back in a heart beat!

Absolute horrible service. There was no hello or how may I help you. I walked in and two people just casually glanced and went about there business and the other two people didn’t even bother to look up. We waited outside for about 10 minutes for the doors to open. In addition, we were the first and only clients to walk in, so it’s not like they didn’t notice us. Still, the reason why they are so trash is not because they didn’t say hi, but because they made a big deal over a simple cover up. I told the guy I wanted to get something covered up and immediately, before I showed him what or where, he seemed to be getting nervous and blurted out why they COULDN’T do it.
Another overpriced trash tattoo parlour here in the heart of Eugene. We talked for ten mins, then he told me to check out an artist who wasn’t there (mistake #1) but would be best at attempting (huge mistake #2) the Polynesian cover up I now successfully have. His portfolio was garbage. Also, no one is ATTEMPTING any tattoo on my arm. You either can do it or you cant.
I noticed that much of the work done there was cartoonish, a sort of Ed Hardy style. I felt like that was their specialty and in my opinion, wasn’t anything special.

My boyfriend and I went into this shop to see if they could cover up and old tattoo of his with a new one. The guy we spoke to saw the tattoo design he wanted to use as a cover up and immediately said that it could not be done and would not work as a cover up without even seeing his previous tattoo. Once he actually looked at his previous tattoo then he said it was possible but that he wasn’t an expert and that we had to talk to an artist who wasn’t in the shop at the time… very frustrating. There were two other tattoo artists in the shop who acted too busy to talk to us as well. Poor service all around.

My husband and I walked in expecting to get a new tattoo. When we went in though, the staff was cold and uninviting. No one acknowledged us just stared like we were from another planet and kept going about their business. I finally asked the girl behind the desk how much it would be to get a small simple name and she quoted me $ 60. I have bigger tattoos that I got for less. Needless to say I will not get my next tattoo there. If I could give negative stars I would.

the man at the counter was incredibly rude and assumptive about the tattoo that i wanted. he said things like, «nobody is going to want to read all that» and other discouraging remarks.
first of all, tattoo selection is a personal choice. this would be my tenth tattoo, i am not unaware of the process of tattooing. the man who helped me made some general assumptions about what i wanted and why i wanted it. it was really annoying and arrogant.
i left without getting anything done. i headed to aurora tattoo and they were incredibly helpful and supportive of figuring out how to get me what i wanted. i have an appointment set up with them instead and am looking forward to it.
stay away from the parlour.

I LOVE this place! They have donw all my tattoos (all 10 of them) and each one gets compliments on a daily basis. The color ROCKS and the atmosphere was amazing! :D VERY happy with my last one, I brought in a design, the looked at it made a few suggestions (which I never thought of) got right to work and were WONDERFUL! I can’t say enough good things about these guys!

One of the oldest shops in town and easily the most talent and experience — every artist there is awesome and they really strive to give the client a quality tattoo. Super clean shop, knowledgable counter people, variety in artist specialties. I recommend The Parlour to anyone looking for a tattoo!

I had been looking for years to find an artist I felt comfortable enough with to have them do my tat. I found Jimmy Singleton at The Parlous Tattoo and couldn’t be more happy with the results. He completely captured the image I had in mind and has laid down the base for what I know will be an amazing piece once it’s completed. His mastery of shading and color make his work pop and give it incredible visual clarity. The man is an artist. I watched a few of the other artists while there and saw that this shop is filled with this type of talent. I would recommend Jimmy highly to anyone wanting something special on their body that makes a statement.

I have only had one tattoo done here, but it was the largest piece I have to date. In February of 2010 I started getting a back piece. I knew a few people who worked here, and they recommended that I talk to Josh. I talked to him, Showed him some photos of what I had in mind, Expressed that it would be covering up another tattoo that I had on my lower back. We discussed size and we were both on the same page. Since the piece was so large and free flowing he drew it all out by hand with a sharpie. It looked great.
There was not real intricate detail and he didn’t outline any of it. Just started with shading.
He thought he could finish it in one sitting, and he could have if I wasn’t such a «punk Bitch.» About half way in I had to call it quits.
After It healed (and in the mean time looked like a chopped down tree) I went back in to have it finished. The second time around he free hand drew the branches back on with minor changes, which I loved even more than the first set.
The Tree turned out beautiful!!!
I got it touched up this past April. And It is still gorgeous. He did a great job. I would go back and recommend him to everyone. I am so happy with the work he did. Every time I see it, or get compliments on it from others it just reminds me that I picked an amazing artist with great talent who could turn my thought into an image.

This is the best Tattoo shop in Eugene. This review is specfically for Jay at the parlor he has done all my work and I plan to continue using him for all my future ink while here in Eugene. He can draw up anything for you and his style centers around traditional japanese tattoo’s but he has experience in most styles. I got my first tattoo from him last year and he made it an enjoyable expierence, helping me through it and understanding this was my first and I wanted it to be perfect. The place is a clean and relaxing enviorment to get inked and the prices are competitive with any other place in town. If your looking for a place to get your first tattoo or just need a good artist, Jay at The Parlour is the way to go.

This tattoo shop really wasn’t our first choice, as we’d been referred by a friend in Fort Collins to got to High Priestess, but let me say, it was a FANTASTIC experience.
The staff are friendly and joke a lot.
My three friends got in, just by WALKING IN — all three of us managed to go back to back with a relatively new artist (which honestly made us a bit wary) — His name is Etzel. And he’s great. Truly. He has a natural talent — He did a star with my gal pal’s daughter’s name — great.
I wanted a Rimbaud quotation on my upper ribcage done in my handwriting in french. He got my writing spot on (i know it’s with a stencil, but that’s still hard!) I am in love with it.
He then did Colorado state flowers on my gal pal Luci’s foot. His color use was absolutely great. We were all ecstatic. I recommend Etzel!
P. S. Prices are decent.

Some friends of mine dropped in to town for a short visit– less than 24 hours. They wanted to get tattoos. One of them had heard about High Priestess and we headed there to drop in and see if we could get in on the same day. They were booked, but recommended we try The Parlour instead.
We are so glad we stopped in. Our artist, Etzle, was awesome. At first, I was a little apprehensive about him because he hasn’t been a tattoo artist for very long. He did an amazing job. One of the girls with me is an artist and drew up our designs before we came in. Each of us had chosen something deeply personal. Etzle talked to each one of us about our choices. He gave us his artistic perspective and really added to what we walked through the door with. He was professional, personable, and really good at his job. I’d recommend Etzle and The Parlour to anyone looking for a great tattoo experience.
Cost was pretty average for a tattoo shop. Friendly people.
Not only did our tattoos turn out fantastic, but we also had a really good time.

I would and always recommend this shop to anyone that asks. I have been tattooed by everyone that works there with the exception of Demian, But highly recommend him as well. The shop itself is clean and comfortable, and I would guess you will not only get a great tattoo but you’ll have fun while you do it.
