If you’re looking for an incredibly honest and helpful person to fix your computer problems, give Jacob at Savvy Duck Computers a call. I had an older laptop that I suspected had a broken power jack. Because my cord didn’t have a power indicator light on it, I took both the laptop and cord to Staples to see if they could determine whether it was the cord or the jack. The gentleman helping me pulled out a universal cord, plugged it in, and broke the bad news: it appeared to be the power jack, not the cord. After hearing JUST the diagnostic test would be $ 60, I was ready to give up and get a new computer. However, I decided to give it one last shot and see if any repair shops on Unilocal got good reviews. Savvy Duck received impeccable reviews so I shot Jacob a quick email. Jacob stated he would determine the problem free of charge and quoted me an extremely reasonable price to fix the jack if that ended up being the problem (bonus: he gives student discounts!). I brought my laptop to his office and: surprise! It WAS the cord that was the problem – a MUCH cheaper fix. Not only did he immediately determine this was the problem, but he searched on Amazon and found me a very affordable cord that would work for my computer. I just received the cord today and the computer booted right up after plugging it in. I cannot thank Jacob enough! If I have any computer issues down the road, I definitely know who to call.

I called Jacob when I knew my power supply was going out. I am an IT person as well but I don’t have troubleshooting equipment as I don’t do it for a career. I asked him if he had a power supply tester, which instead he brought a spare power supply. When I asked him later why, he said he gets false positives (which helped me out as a fellow IT person) he installed a new 650 watt power supply and I asked him if the power would cover certain upgrades. He was able to answer all of my questions with confidence and expertise. He is a professional and you can trust him with your computer. :)

We had Jacob to our home today to help us with a number of computer problems. He helped and solved all our problems. He also installed a protective software that will save us money in the future. ThIs was something we did not ask for nor had any knowledge. He also showed us how to download photos from our camera to our computer.
We also found that he can assist us with installation issues we may have with our TVs.
