We are a food cart and restaurant specializing German Inspired Cuisine.
History
Established in 2015.
Pig & Turnip was the brain child of Chef Natalie, wanting to provide quick, high-quality, local food to the Eugene area. Chef Mike joined the team in October, and together they have reimagined what German food can be with love of food and delicious local products.

Business Owner
Chef Natalie Sheild has been exploring her passion for the culinary world over the past 10 years. She has devoted the past year and a half to growing her catering business, Sheild Catering, which specializes in providing the Eugene/Springfield area with full service events sourced from our local economy. In October of 2015 she and her partner, Joseph Sheild, opened Pig & Turnip. In their opinion, German food is the soul food of Europe, and it’s lack of representation in the Eugene food scene compelled the choice of cuisine.
Chef Mike runs the cart on a daily basis. He is of German heritage and has a passion for traditional German food. Many of the recipes are directly from or inspired by his Grandmother June and believe us, you can taste that kind of love!
