The Oregon Small Business Development Center Network (OSBDCN) provides advising, training, online courses and resources for businesses throughout our state. Our 19 conveniently-​located Centers assist business people like you in every aspect of business development and management.

Our mission is «Helping Build Oregon’s Best Businesses,» and that is what we do. For more information about all that we can do for your business

Oregon’s SBDCs deliver our services to anyone who owns or operates a business or is planning to start a business. We work with businesses in every industry and at every stage of growth from start-​ups to well-​established companies, from one employee to 500. In addition to no-​cost confidential advising, we offer training and online courses that cover a wide range of business topics.

Our workshops, seminars, and events will help you sharpen your business skills. Learn everything from how to create a business plan to an exit strategy.

History

Established in 1983.

The Oregon Small Business Development Network was launched in 1983 and is part of a national network of Small Business Development Centers. The Oregon Network is a well-​established partnership between 17 Oregon community colleges, two state universities, the US Small Business Administration and the Oregon Business Development Department.

Our website serves as a distribution center for the resources – collaboratively developed and compiled by professional staff across our Network – that can be delivered anywhere and anytime throughout our state. The benefits of our services to clients and the communities served include the growth of Oregon businesses, job creation and retention, and an improved economy.

Meet the Manager

Michael L.

Manager

Michael Lainoff began service as the State Director of the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network on September 1, 2008.

Previously he resided in Flagstaff Arizona for thirteen years, and most recently served as the Founding Director of the Arizona Rural Policy Institute at The W. A. Franke College of Business, Northern Arizona University.

In this capacity, he provided leadership for the Institute’s applied research, policy analysis, and technical assistance programs. Prior to this engagement, he served in Flagstaff as Coconino Community College’s (CCC) Dean of Workforce Development & Extended Learning, and as CCC’s Small Business Development Center Director and Dean of Continuing Education. Before his arrival in Arizona, he served as the SBDC Director at Oregon Coast Community College, and Training Specialist, Southwestern Oregon Community College. He operated his own consulting firm for ten years, with an emphasis on planning and communications projects.
