Natalia’s Alterations and Tailoring

I went to Natalia’s after reading several positive reviews. I wanted to tighten the waste of a nice pair of jeans. It requires cutting the jeans on the backside as well to make them fit tighter. The initial quality on the stitching of my jeans was off. I pointed it out and Natalia fixed it. When I took the jeans home I realized they were still to big. I brought them back. My jeans are now perfect. My take away: Mia hits happen. Each time I felt uncomfortable returning the jeans but Natalia was incredibly kind and committed to making the jeans fit right. I would come back in a heartbeat.

Natalia is great. She’s hemmed a dress shorter for me and even a strange request of sewing two blankets. Very professional, great communication, fast turn around and fair pricing.

What can I say. Natalia is on point… she knows what shes doing. she is very quick, I brought my kids flower dresses and other things o need tailored and ive never been dissapointed!

I had an absolutely terrific experience with Natalia. I went there to get suit alterations done. Natalia gave me fabulous advice and did a first rate job with my alterations. Her price was quite reasonable, turnaround was quick and customer service was great. I enjoyed her dry sense of humor and appreciated her patience with me in the process. Highly recommended!

My daughter and I took her wedding dress and another casual dress in for alterations. She did an excellent job and was friendly and professional. The items were done on time and the workmanship incredible. Her prices are very reasonable and we will not hesitate to use her services again.

After getting multiple recommendations from people I knew, I decided to take my wedding dress to Natalia a few months before my wedding to have her do the needed alterations. She looked at the dress, and recommended I come back one month before I needed it. I was leery at first but trusted her.
Natalia was the best thing that could have happened to my wedding dress and me!
Natalia knew immediately what needed to be done as soon as she saw me in my dress. She wasted no time getting pins at the correct length and other places that needed to be nipped in. I was a little hesitant to let her take in as much a she did, but man am I glad she convinced me! My dress fit like it was created for my body.
In addition to all of the usual nips and tucks, I had another pretty big request. I have an ‘ABC’ blocks tattoo on my left shoulder blade, and my dress had a sheer lace beaded back. I asked if there was any way to hide it using a nude panel of fabric, because I didn’t want tattoo make-​up to get on the dress. I brought the fabric to her, and she and her assistant did a phenomenal job sewing out on to the back of my dress. It turned out beautifully. It looked like part of the design of the dress! And she did it all for an extremely reasonable price! In Houston (where my wedding was), it would have easily cost 3 – 4 times what I paid up here.
I would HIGHLY recommend Natalia to anyone needing any type of alterations done. Thank you, Natalia!

I have had several items altered at Natalia’s, and found her work to be excellent. She actually fixed a disaster from another alterations person, which was cool. She completes work in a timely fashion, is knowledgeable, but is a tad on the expensive side (minus one star). Recommend!

Natalia is a sweet, straight-​forward, hard-​working woman. I called in a few months before my wedding and asked when I could bring my dress in for some minor tweaks. She said that I should wait until a month before the wedding. I was nervous, but I did as told. When I came in, she knew exactly what I would need and had my dress pinned and ready in mere minutes. I picked it up two weeks later, paid only $ 50, and she even made a last-​minute change to the bustle when I couldn’t figure out how to tie it up myself. She is a lovely and talented seamstress — I am so glad I trusted her with my wedding dress!
I’ve read a few reviews that express the opinion that Natalia is rude. I just don’t agree with that. She is brisk and very Russian, so she’s definitely not going to coddle anyone or spend a long time chatting. But she put up with my near-​complete lack of knowledge about what my dress needed and was so kind and generous as I asked dozens of questions. And she’s an absolute professional and charges incredibly low prices, so I wouldn’t hesitate a moment to entrust her with any project.

So on first entry it looked like a nice place to receive services from considering its writhing the fifth street market. After talking to the receptionist/​seamstress I was walking out within four minutes. She was extremely condescending as if my business was not welcome. I felt as if I was not welcomed and when I was debating whether or not to pay $ 45 for alterations, she had said «well you can go somewhere else» and I took the dress and exited. I am willing to pay for quality however the second I am treated rude or receive a condescending attitude, I have no problem taking my money elsewhere. If you aren’t 30+ years old to fit in with the crowd, then do not come here. You will not be treated as if you are welcomed.

I’ve never needed anything tailored before, I was anxiously trying to figure out where to take my suit jacket. Without anyone to turn to for a recommendation I threw caution to the wind and thought I’d trust what I was reading on Unilocal.
I’m incredibly glad I went with my gut instinct that the reviews seemed really solid.
I walked right in, Natalia had me jump into a fitting room where I popped on my jacket and she pinned it. It was ready within 2 days time and at the low cost of $ 35. When I picked it up, she let me know that she kept the material just in case anything needed to be let out (thankfully that’s not necessary but I appreciate that thoughtfulness).
I’ll certainly return given that off-​the rack things never fit my body shape properly (do they fit anyone properly though, right?), no more feeling frumpy for me!

I had really high hopes after reading all of these positive reviews about Natalia’s Alterations. I took my wedding dress to Natalia and she seemed nice.
When I came in Natalia told me it would be $ 190 for my dress which was cheaper than other places in town. I wanted all of the scraps from my dress to be saved, and they were.

She was absolutely amazing when I brought her like 8 pairs of pants to be taken in. She did them in about a 2 day turn around.

I brought my wedding dress to Natalia for alterations. The dress was a couple of sizes too big and a bit too long. There was a lot of beading on the bust and hemline so that made the alterations tricky. I called around to all the other alteration shops in town but decided on Natalia given her experience and good reviews as well as her fast turnaround time and pricing.
First off, I had no idea what to do with a wedding dress. I hadn’t even planned on getting married in a traditional dress until I found THE DRESS on clearance at a fabulous boutique. My wedding was a whirlwind kind of thing which means I did not have a lot of time available. Needless to say, I was a stress bomb bride. Natalia had my dress ready in less than two weeks which was perfect since I only had about three weeks available to pull myself together.
Natalia was helpful to a clueless bride. I didn’t have anyone helping me, and I didn’t read any bridal magazines beforehand. I was pretty dumb and intimidated by the whole wedding dress experience. I didn’t know I had to bring my shoes and undergarments to all the fittings (3) so I had to make a few trips home for my fittings. She suggested a slip with the dress which I had not considered and needed. She was patient with me which was a relief.
What I liked the most was that she didn’t require set appointments. I called ahead and she always said to come anytime. I will admit that she intimidated me a bit with her accent. I didn’t find anything she said to be rude, just intimidating.
The price was a big concern for me. I was amazed at how much I was quoted for the alterations by other shops. My dress was $ 700 originally and I paid only $ 300 for it. When I was quoted more than that for the alterations, I was stunned. Natalia brought up the hem, brought in the waist and bust, added bra cups and a lovely bustle for $ 175 in less than two weeks. She made the whole experience simple. Definitely a great experience with a skilled woman.

I brought in an expensive pair of jeans 3 days before I needed them for sorority recruitment. Natalia did a wonderful job and was able to use my original hem! Her prices are extremely reasonable!

Just moved into the area and I needed some skirts to be repaired and altered. I was establishing care with my new primary care provider, Dr. Jinnah from Oak Street medical and alterations came up. Funny, I asked him who he went to and he recommended Natalia’s Alterations. He told me that he takes all his pants there and she does a fabulous job. Coming from my physician, I took his recommendation!
Took my clothes there for alterations, this woman is direct and to the point and amazing at what she does! I couldn’t have been happier.
She is sharp and gets the job done! She’s invested in her quality of work and customer satisfaction. Best recommendation as a new resident to Eugene… She is highly recommended! Thank you Natalia and staff for doing such a great job!

I really liked her. She’s not chatty, or wanting to know this or that from first appearance like some people are. I’m not chatty myself so I really liked that. I just told her what I wanted and she did it and didn’t want to argue with me that it would look «too tight» or «not becoming for a young lady» like a few other alteration people have told me in town and I had to argue with them to do what I wanted. In/​out/​she did a really good job. What I really appreciated was she said they would be done in one week, and they were done in one week. I didn’t have to call and follow up, or call and ask when it would be done two weeks later, or be told «let me find your item I’ll call you back». She’s professional with a nice place. I will be taking

I got a pair of pants hemmed. Natalia did a perfect job! While some reviewers found Natalia unfriendly this was not my experience.

I approached Natalia a month before my July wedding needing a sheer bolero to match my dress. I know — last minute PANICK.
She was AMAZING and had the garment perfectly tailored and finished several days before the big event. It was absolutely perfect and her price was very reasonable in light of the rush job during wedding season.
I highly recommend her!

My first interaction with Natalia was summer 2010, when I purchased three cocktail dresses online from Nordstrom. Two of them were a few sizes too big, and one was too big in the waist. These were all dresses with very complex patterns and abnormal seaming, making the alterations quite difficult. Natalia was very pleasant and found a way to make it work. A week later, all of the dresses fit me perfectly.
My most recent experience with Natalia (summer 2011) was also phenomenal. I purchased a wedding dress in a size 12. I am a size 4. The woman who I purchased the dress from told me she had an exclusive alterations woman, and that I couldn’t take my dress anywhere else, because my dress was of such a high quality, that not just anyone would be able to alter it without ruining it. If I had gone with that woman, it would have cost me at least $ 800 for my alterations, and at least three fittings. I would also have to drive to Portland (two hours away) to have it done.
I decided to take my wedding dress to Natalia. I was afraid to show it to her, since it was quite big. She saw it on me and it was no problem for her. The top of the dress was quite complicated, and had beading under the bust. If the string of beads was cut, all of the beads would fall off. There was very stiff boning in the dress. I also needed a bustle put in, and Natalia created a beautiful french bustle in the back, which was very easy to tie up.
Natalia also let me know that I needed a tulle skirt underneath my dress. I had no idea these kinds of things existed, or why my dress looked so sad before the skirt! Without her recommendation to buy one my dress would have gone between my legs when I walked and just looked deflated in general.
I ended up having to do two fittings because I felt that the dress sat a little low on me. I don’t blame Natalia for this, as I did notice it a bit in the first fitting but didn’t mention it. I had never worn a strapless gown before so I had no idea how important it would be for it to be up at the right height. Trying it on after the first round of alterations were done made me realize it did need to be up higher. It was no problem though, Natalia was really nice about it, pinned it, and had we agreed it could be ready in a few days (I wasn’t under a tight schedule so there was no need to rush).
The alterations of my husband’s wedding suit, the alterations for my dress, and including the cost for my dress to be steamed by Natalia, cost us approximately $ 200. That’s right, $ 200.
I could not believe the impressive quality work Natalia did, and at an extremely low price. Natalia is so kind and warm, and gets the work done very quickly. I can’t recommend her enough!
