Imperial Floors

John the estimator was very kind and friendly. Unfortunately carpet that was installed was damaged by a sharpie. I was offered a «patch» I refused. Wall paint was heavily damaged on every wall. Window disassembled to bring in carpet, not reassembled. Closet door was not properly reinstalled. John did come out to fix some of the issues but it was clear to see that his cousin the installer is unprofessional with finishing touches and impatient.

Edit: thanks for the reply, Cindy. I spoke with an employee about price matching or otherwise adding value in some way to compensate for the price discrepancy, and he took my # and never called back. We plan to install ourselves, so there would otherwise not have been an opportunity to bid the work and make up ground on the significant price difference.

My partner and I went to Imperial floors three times, and found the staff fairly hands off (your mileage may vary — we’re a fairly young couple, and they may just have assumed we didn’t have money) but they were very helpful and friendly once we engaged them.
They definitely have a much higher quality of products (at least for hardwood products) than almost anywhere else in town.
However, we opted to not purchase from them. We shopped around and found the product we wanted from Imperial Floors at another store (also in Eugene) for 31% cheaper. That’s a fairly incredible price discrepancy. I’d encourage anyone considering flooring from Imperial Floors to comparison shop for price, as much as possible.
Bottom line: fine service, quality products, dismal prices.

Imperial Floors has helped me determine which floor would work best for my needs. They’ve been so helpful, especially Doug. They’ve helped me numerous times, with numerous projects. We highly recommend Imperial Floors.

We purchased marmoleum flooring from Imperial for a mid sized bathroom that we had measured ourselves. When we asked for an installer, they refused to provide names of the independent installers they recommend stating that they were all booked for weeks. When I pressed stating that I could wait, they refused and stated that recommendations are reserved for their customers. When I expressed my confusion, as I had just purchased flooring, she clarified that they reserve recommendations to customers who have Imperial measure the space themselves. They use independent contractors. I have a kitchen, a living room, a rec room and two bedrooms for which I am currently looking to replace the flooring. I had discussed several of the other floors with their staff. They lost that business because of that short sighted mentality. Customers do not come first. Imperial comes first.

I had a very frustrating experience with this company. The quality of the installation was very poor, and the worker damaged my baseboards in one of the rooms. The management was very condescending when addressing my complaint, and was not interested in doing anything to rectify the situation. The price that i paid was relatively competitive, but when the poor installation is factored in, it was a bad deal. I chose this company over one of the big box chains because I wanted the accountability that is supposed to be associated with smaller family businesses. In this case that decision proved to be an error.

Bravo Bravo! I highly recommend Imperial Floors to all of you who are considering the installation of new floors, or the renovation of old ones.
I cant recall ever being so so impressed with a home improvement business like this one, and I have repeatedly gone back to them in the past 5+ years for all my flooring needs. Each time I return I am amazed that the service and prices have remained consistent, and contrary to most home improvement experiences, all of the staff are genuinely nice, helpful and courteous. In addition to this the prices are reasonable, they have a quick turn around time for special orders, and I relish in their selection of hardwood floors which are proudly made in the Pacific Northwest.
