I might have given this a half star. Food didn’t taste right bad pairing and weird spices that dont go with any regional tastes I’ve experienced in 20 years of cooking or school. They are called the best hangover food which makes sense that anyone saying they are good has to be hungover.

I’ve been going to Brail’s for many years, almost since it first opened. It’s a Eugene tradition. Joy, the owner, is the reason for its success, but so are the dedicated people who make it function so well. She always knows my name. However, since an illness some years ago, she changed my name, and I’ve never had the heart to correct her. My girlfriend thinks it’s utterly adorable, and sometimes I think she makes us go there just for that reason. In any case, the food has always been great, the staff have always been friendly, and the prices have always been fairly reasonable. If you have an impatient personality, I recommend going on weekdays, as weekends get very hectic. My only complaint is that they aren’t open for dinner. It’s sad that Eugene doesn’t seem to have any late-night diner restaurants to speak of, but Brail’s gives me the experience when I manage to get there by the early afternoon. Great omelettes.

Hanging out next to the owner right now, she’s def my kind of gal. I liked this place before even tasting the food. After enjoying my beef bulgogi bowl which was excellent, this is def one of my new favorite restaurants in Eugene!

Who puts a grilled chicken breast on waffles?! It was advertised as two fried pieces and I received one small grilled piece

I’ve tried and I’ve tried but I can’t. Brails falls on a long list of over-hyped breakfast joints in Eugene. Today, i went simple; Eggs, Toast, Home fries and a side of fruit. The side of fruit is $ 3.95 and came with a dozen grapes, 1⁄30th of a pineapple, 1⁄8 of an Orange, and two over ripe strawberries. Bread and potatoes both seemed a tad stale and the oil on the eggs had a odd & different taste. I know its been voted Eugenes best spot for«a hangover breakfast» and that’s about the only time I could see it tasting any good, when i’m still half plastered.

Lots of seating in this place! The first thing that jumped out at me about this place was the fact that you can get espresso drinks to go along with your breakfast. I have only been to one other place that had this option. I like it! The friendliness of the staff also stood out to me. At the end of our meal which was amazing, a man who I assumed was a regular was struggling to walk out of the building. Two employees came in either side to escort the gentleman out to his car. Kindness goes a long way with me! Good job guys! I also thought it was cool that the color pages that the kids get is of the owner. Super cute. Can’t wait to come back!

My partner and our daughter came here for breakfast and decided never to return. The food was decent but the customer service was terrible. Our waiter rushed us through our order about 3 minutes after we sat down. I ordered the chicken fried steak, my partner the eggs benedict. We weren’t asked if we wanted anything else to drink besides water. After our waiter took our order, we did not see him again until he threw our ticket down and walked away. Before our meal came, our daughter had knocked over a glass of water. Our server was busy talking to a couple of guys who were friends of his in the table across from us. A different waitress came over and offered to clean it up, which she did. When the food came, a different server gave it to us and ours never checked on us. The food was delicious! It’s a shame the service from our waiter was so terrible, or we’d be regular customers! While paying the bill, my partner asked the girl at the register to speak with the manager. To our surprise, our server, Ian, was the manager! He was extremely rude to my partner and acted like nothing was wrong. Then had the nerve to ask if we wanted to order some coffee still. Needless to say, no coffee was ordered and we’ll never be eating there again.

I always love finding long time local«hole in the wall» places when I’m out of town. This place was recommended by a local and it exceeded expectations. The line was long and the wait was about 20 minutes but then the owner came out and began to seat the masses. We had been out the night before and all I wanted was a greasy hangover breakfast. What I got was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had. I will be back.

Your typical, good American breakfast food. Loved! My twin brother took us here for breakfast this morning and we only had to wait five minutes to sit at the counter, which I personally prefer. Our server, the tall Hawaiian guy, was super cool and took our order immediately! I ordered the spinach omelette with substituted ham and my brother got the«Joy’s Special» — both were amazingly good! Service was great, food hit the spot, and super short wait time. Much mahalo!

Good place for breakfast! Had the big breakfast with a sausage patty. The patty did come out slightly pink but Joy took care of that right away! She brought me a different patty, fresh hash browns and new toast. Then she took it one step further and paid for my meal! Joy(the owner) was a joy to watch her do her thing. She is a energetic, spunky and constantly moving. Heard her asking if her customers were doing ok as well as heard her asking her staff if they needed anything and if everything was ok. I will be back! The only thing I didn’t care for was the coffee. Kinda bitter for me. Other than that it was good to go.

Brail’s doesn’t try to pretend to be anything it isn’t. It is what it is: solid, never spectacular, always consistent diner-style food. They have plenty of seating so service tends to be fast. The atmosphere is as simple as the food. For breakfast I enjoy their chicken fried steak. It’s juicy and flavorful and cooked well. Their pancakes and waffles leave something to be desired, but if you’re not discerning they’re fine. Their burgers have a decently flavorful patty, if maybe a bit dry. They use super-salty yellow american cheese, which some people are a fan of. The onion rings are definitely a highlight. In short, I enjoy getting a weekend breakfast here every once in a while because they’re convenient, but they’re nothing I’d go out of my way to get.

This is one of only two breakfast places my best friend have found we’re fans of in the Eugene area thus far. It’s ALWAYS busy, especially on weekends because it has been voted«Best Hangover Food» for several years in a row now, so you want to get in early or a prepare to have a wait. Their food is classic, diner-style breakfast food, but quality every time. The best part of it is the hashbrowns. For whatever reason, they’re just great. Crunchy, well-made, and just everything you want in some classic hashbrowns. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get and there are tons of options. I’ve got the veggie benedict and the waffle sampler, which are both great. The place is huge with a very casual, open ambience. Once me and my best friend accidentally came in when they were closing thinking they had an extra hour and they let us eat there anyway. SO nice! Great customer service! The only thing is sometimes the house coffee tastes a little bitter for my taste, but you can’t win them all.

We keep telling ourselves that we won’t go back. But it’s hard not to when it’s so close to home. In order to avoid the obnoxious crowd waiting to get in, then waiting again to pay, we began ordering our food for take-out. The past few times things have been not-quite-right. Today, though, two of our three orders were completely wrong. Additionally, the chicken skillet(the accurate dish) had only a few tiny pieces of diced chicken tossed into a bunch of potato pieces. I know they’re one of the only breakfast places in town. Apparently, so do they. On the plus side, the place is clean and the servers are generally cheerful. For this, they’ve earned an extra star.

Food is awesome and of good quality! Portions are more than enough and menu has a lot of variety. Last time I was there, there was a mix up with an order so they gave us free chocolate chip waffles. Never had to wait to get a seat even when going with a party of 8 on a Saturday morning because there are so many tables!

Good portion sizes but really lame breakfasts. For me, this is not different from Denny’s, I’m not really sure why it has such a following. It’s a shame, I think Eugene deserves a great traditional greasy spoon breakfast place.

We were greeted with friendly smiles and seated promptly. I really liked the atmosphere, it kinda felt like I was at a friends house. There was ample seating without it feeling claustrophobic. The service was friendly and attentive. The food came promptly. I found the food to be priced fairly for the portion sizes. I ordered The Old Fashioned Reuben. I am a Reuben snob. All the proper ingredients were there, but meh. The rye bread was too thin. The corned beef was bland, but I did like that it was chopped up really good. The sauerkraut didn’t quite have the tanginess that I like. The fries were awesome. My boyfriend had the Small Breakfast. The scrambled egg was bland and diced up so much that he couldn’t pick it up with a fork. Hash browns were burnt and greasy. Bacon and toast were fine. In summary, I would be willing to try it again, but get something else on the menu.

Ok this place was spot on. Wonderful Veggie egg Benedict and everyone else’s food look just as yummy. The portions are huge and make sure your not starving cuz it takes a little time to get your food due to them being so busy. We will go every time I visit Eugene

Great affordable spot for a quick breakfast. I think we were in and out within 35 minutes. Fast, simple service. Nothing crazy unique, but I do love the layout, multiple rooms and the low breakfast bar up front. The menu is filled with classics and some unique dishes as well. They’re open for lunch and breakfast, close at 3. I had a bacon waffle with strawberries and whipped cream(my personal request). I love bacon, and it’s even better in waffle form with maple syrup.
