History

Established in 2011.

In 2003, owner Kim Marks was diagnosed with cancer. After working in the environmental movement for over 9 years, she realized that she had to expand her approach to environmentalism. The toxins that affect the environment also effect people. At the time, there weren’t any green sex shops in Portland or in the Pacific Northwest at all. Kim realized that she could have a positive impact on the sexual health/adult industry and bring something to Portland that would hit home and engage the already-eco-conscious people that live here. So in 2009 she completed her business plan and began hitting the pavement to make As You Like It a reality. After that, it was research, development, and planning until January of 2012, when she launched the As You Like It webstore. Since then, As Yo Like It has held half a dozen events in the Pacific Northwest and even more planned for the future. Kim continues her work in the environmental movement along with her work at As You Like It.
