Established in 1988.

Aqua Serene is a family owned and operated business.

Three generations now work at the store.

It all started as an aquarium maintenance service. It has grown to include all of the interests and passions of the family. This includes tropical fish, gardening, and traveling the world for unique treasures.

Aqua Serene has indoor and outdoor Koi ponds and water features. There are outdoor greenhouses and an indoor display garden room, which produces food all year round. The fish side contains a museum quality display of tropical and freshwater fish.

The garden center carries an extensive selection of the highest quality plant nutrients and gardening supplies. Aqua Serene is the only authorized seller of Roots Organics and Soul Synthetic, potting soils and plant nutrients, in Lane County

I’ve been fish keeping on and off (as work and international travels prevented) for over 40 years. Out of the hobby for about 4 years, I went to Aqua Serene to begin my next phase (high intensity lighting and CO2 injection for a heavily planted freshwater tank). I met Andrew. He’s potentially the most knowledgable «fish guy» I’ve met in a tropical fish store. He’s given me lots of great advice, and the prices in the store are competitive. We fish lovers here in Eugene are fortunate to have this amazing store and their knowledgable employees here.

I’ve def shopped around and this is by far the worst shop in the area. The employees have no idea about the products they are selling nor do they actually try to help you out. I went in to buy a water filter only to have an employee tell me he didn’t use one so I didn’t need one. Well that lost the company a solid $ 200 sale. My next trip in was for a vent fan. I asked if one could be plugged in so I could feel the airflow and compare it to my older model. Simply plugging in this fan would have almost guaranteed another $ 150+ sale, yet it was too much for the girl to handle. She gave me the excuse that each brand has a different output. All ya had to do was show me ANY brand which outperformed my model! Good luck with this shop. Your competitors are SO much more helpful, especially the folks at Emerald Valley (I am not connected to that company whatsoever)

This is my favorite fish store I drive all the way from Albany to purchase all my aquarium needs from fish to equipment. The sales staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable I would recommend this store to all my fellow fish nerds.

After moving to Oregon from LA i was in search of a nice tropical fish store, i found this place on the internet and on youtube it looked cool and sounded impressive. i drove over 2 hours north to this place thinking they should have a nice selection of fancy goldfish, i was extremely disappointed!!! one lousy dirty tank with about 7 little fish in a building in the back!!.this place is more of a hippie dippie trinket shop than a fish store.

I’m a new fish mom to a wonderful betta that my friend Jason gave me and I knew the only place to go to set him up with everything he needs was Aqua Serene.
I can’t believe how big this place is! I was a little apprehensive walking through the doors but after wandering to the back I realized how totally awesome this place was. There’s so much to look at! I feel like a kid in a candy store. On the outside I may look like a composed lady but in the inside I’m spazzing out. What’s that? What’s this? Whoa! Cool! Koi!
A kind employee helped me out for a good thirty minutes picking out the right stuff for King Leonidas (my betta). We looked at all sorts of things from plants, heaters, cleaners and gravel. Everything you see in the fish tanks are for sale. I bought a beautiful piece of wood with a plant attached to it. I’m very satisfied with my experience and will come back again to ooh and aah at the koi pond.

I bought my first Betta here recently and he is a wonderful fish. Healthy and happy. The shop is really nice with lots of fun things to look at and buy for your fish or garden.
Be sure to tell them you know nothing, if that’s the case, so that you don’t inadvertently do harm to your new pet. In fact, knowing what I know now, I seriously wish I would have done my research before diving in to having fish for a pet. It is nothing to be taken lightly. If you truly care about your pets you will want them to have the best of everything and you HAVE to do your research. I have spent a small fortune on this guy, when if I had only learned the tips and tricks, I could have saved half as much. Anyway… turned out I was over-​feeding mine by following the directions on the back of the package and was not warned about it when I made the purchase and also turned out to be really low quality food anyway so I ended up throwing it out.
My only real issue though is that I just paid $ 18 for a heater that sells for $ 10 online, so now I’m going to have to shop around for anything else I might need because I am concerned I might be getting gouged. Aqua Serene is so close to home and that makes that scenario a bit frustrating.
EDIT: After seeing what else is available in the general area for aquarium supplies, I am giving AS another star. They take really good care of their aquariums and the store is clean, organized, and well stocked. My only suggestion to them is to please carry small pellet .5mm New Life Spectrum Grow for Betta’s. He really likes it and I feel better about feeding him a high quality food without fillers. I have the 1 mm size and they seem a little big for him.

This is the only store I will shop at for my freshwater fish. I have never once brought a disease home from adding a fish from this place & I have been shopping here for years. I enjoy the diverse selection of fish they showcase & the tanks are always beautifuly aquascaped with real plants & bogwood.
This is always on my list of shops to show out of town family & friends a cool place to visit.

The store is fine, the staff mostly ignores you unless you chase them down. It has hermit crab shells, tank supplies, etc. Unfortunately, they have joined the w11 anti– EMX brigade with their 10,000 signs informing me just how little they need my business. I take the bus. EMX would make it a lot easier for me to get there. If they don’t want people who use public transportation in their store, I am happy to oblige.

Very helpful staff especially Shawn. We bought out first aquarium 125 gallon last fall and have since added a 72 gallon bow, 110 high and a 35 gallon hexagon. Shawn has been so helpful and informative in our quest to learn as much as we can about fresh water fish. His knowledge and willingness to spend the time educating us has made our vista to Aqua Serene a pleasure and because of him and the majority of the staff, I will continue to go back.

Aqua Serene is my personal happy place.
I just got home from buying some plants for my tank. (I am going to start aquascaping [very exciting]). The guy that helped me today was SO passionate about aquarium plants and he really talked to be about everything I needed to know. He even demonstrated for me how to plant the plants, how to fertilize, I mean he went above and beyond just selling me the plants that I wanted. He really educated me about what I was doing and where I can go from there!
This is NOT my 1st AMAZING experience with Aqua Serene. I never leave with a question unanswered. I always leave very happy and excited about my fish tank!
The PASSION these people have is infectious! And very honestly refreshing! When was the last time you went into a store and seen the staffs faces light up with excitement when talking to you?!?
I go there for ALL of my fish, aquarium, plant, soil needs! And honestly, you should to.
