I spent some time picking between here and the Irish pub across the street and don’t regret the decision. Atmosphere was friendly with a Flyers game on and service was top notch. Sat at the bar and ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu bites as an appetizer as I hadn’t seen those anywhere else. Not bad, didn’t blow me away but good to try. Deep fried of course. Had a garden side salad with onions on top-really good actually. Meatball Parm Hoagie was exactly what you would expect. Again didn’t blow me away, but was good. Solid beer list too. About 15 taps and a lot of bottles and a full bar too. There’s not a ton of options that I saw around here and this turned out to be a pretty good choice.

(1⁄100) Where would I be without Unilocal?Well, I know I probably wouldn’t have met this awesome young woman named Camay. If I wouldn’t have met Camay, then we most definitely wouldn’t have decided to meet up at Coaches. But thanks to Unilocal,we did meet and it wasn’t a Catfish moment. My friend(& fellow Unilocaler) Camay wanted to check out this bar in Essington called Coaches. I didn’t realize that this bar was less than 10 minutes from my job. Thank goodness for Camay’s consideration! Coaches seems like your good ol’ neighborhood bar. It’s not too small that it feels cramped; it’s also not so large that you get lost in the shuffle. It’s a wrap around bar with a few tables in the back that seat about 4 people per table. Our bartender was really sweet. She seemed like she knew almost everyone’s name. She was very attentive, making sure that our glasses were never empty for too long and we had some munchies. Camay and I ordered: * 4 beers * 2 shots of Apple Smirnoff * 1(small) order of cheese fries The beers were chilled. Our shots were ice cold. Also, I think they were more like double shots. I’m not complaining though! She also suggested that we split an order of fries and it’s a good thing we did! The small fry was enough for two people to share. They came out popping hot. It was a fresh order of tasty fries. The lady sitting next to me got her bracelet caught in her sweater. In trying to help her, it appeared that I was playing with her boob. Camay and I had a good time people watching. We came up with a few plausible stories about one woman. She was nursing one martini for over an hour. Finally a man came in and began to tongue her down. Was that her man? It wasn’t that cold, why wouldn’t he take off his jacket? Why’d he order a girly drink? We had a great lady date. The only downside was that during HH they didn’t have any specials on any liquor — only beer. If you’re looking for a good time, I’d most definitely recommend Coaches.

second time I have been here for happy hour. For starters, they have a friendly attentive staff and most important they have a great menu with good grub! Clean, smoke free, great people, and good food. What more could you ask for?

Awesome place to watch the game or just chill and have food and drinks! I am staying at a local hotel by the airport and this place was perfect. The staff here was super friendly and made you feel welcomed. The food was good and prices were really cheap! Will definitely go back next time I’m in town.

Thi place gets one star only because there’s no option for 0. The beer was cold, service was bearable, but if you’re looking for food go to wawa next door. Was talked into going by the hotel we were staying in, and wished I went to sleep hungry. Went with seven other guys and Nobody was happy with the sandwich they ordered and my pork sandwich had three shavings or dry old pork on it. Should have had a sandwich at wawa and gone there for a beer.

Only stopped in for takeout as they were the closest place to still get beer after 11PM on a Sunday by my hotel(about 10 – 15 minute walk). Crowd was friendly and the bartender, a female, was nice. A six pack &2 quarts came to about $ 22 which is alright. I’m used to pay paying $ 4.50 or so for an actual 40 at bars here in South Philly. Would return when in the area.

Great bar– a very lively local place. We had the philly cheese steak egg rolls– interesting and tasty! The wings were great and the roast beef wrap had a lot of beef in it. Great selection of beers on tap. A great place for a laid back casual night of fun!

Decent bar — Just do NOT go on Friday Night. Stopped in here for food and a few beers during an overnight on a work trip. Decent place, clean, decent selection of beer and a good bar food menu. Waitress was there quickly, beer came cold, she recommended some food, it was good(I had a chicken cheesteak and onion rings), both food items were exactly what they should have been. They were hot and tasted great. She cam back, checked on me regularly, I ordered a 2nd beer, I probably could have stayed for 3 or 4 since I was not driving, I was dropped off by the hotel shuttle, BUT, then a DJ started up and when I said started up it was deafening. Beyond deafening. It was so loud it was distorted. Badly distorted. If I had earplugs I would have put them in just to finish my beer. Then it turned worse, they started Karaōke. BAD karaōke and it got even louder. The karaōke mic was turned up even louder than the distorted music. I seriously contemplated pouring the ketchup that was on my table into my ears to deaden the sound. I cannot believe the owner, manager, person on duty in charge would allow volume levels like that. Not only was it irresponsible, but it was just plain stupidly loud for a casual corner bar. The idiot DJ probably thinks«this is his shot» and next week he will be DJ’ing at Wells Fargo Center just like Tiesto, but seriously. Its a corner bar in Tinicum that serves food. Just play some music under the conversation level. A juke box would be appropriate for a bar like this. Apparently most of the regular patrons are used to it because they all just talked louder to get over the ridicuous DJ level, thus raising the noise floor in the place to just above a 747 taking off at 100 yards. I literally stuck my fingers in my ears between sips to finish my beer and then left as quickly as I could. I really would have given this place 4 – 5 stars as its a nice neighborhood bar, but the stupidity of allowing a DJ to do what they did says volumes about the manager or owner’s care of operation.

Food was good and cheap. Cheesesteak was so good I didn’t stop when I burnt my mouth. Beer selection for a dive in the burbish area was good. The girls behind the bar were friendly. The crowd was a little older but I am an old soul so I fit in better with them. They had these corn fritter things that I still dont know what they are but they were delish!

My office swings by here at least once a month. Not the quickest service, but I have always liked the chicken buffalo sando with fries. The guys always down the soups, which I will be trying next time. Lots of tvs, lots of sports to watch. Friendly service.

This place rocks on a Friday night when John opens up the karaōke at 9pm. The barmaids are smoking hot and friendly. The crowd is mixed among locals, out-of-towners from the hotels, airport and Fedex workers who are kicking off the 2nd shift. The food is ridiculously reasonable in price, good size portions, and well-prepared. Over a dozen screens with lots of games on(with one screen with CNN for good measure). It’s karaōke, and there are at least 15 singers every night. Smoke-free with a deck for those who are still addicted.

This is a great place. If you’re looking for a pub to catch all the local sports action, this is it. There’s a wide array of televisions visible from almost anywhere in the bar. It does get crowded during Eagles games, which can be a good thing. There’s also outdoor seating available for you smokers.(cough, cough.) The crowd tends to be a bit older, mostly blue collar, which may be a good change for some people. There is karaōke and live music a few times a week. The staff is about the nicest you will find anywhere on the planet. The regulars are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. There’s a great jukebox that you can program from your phone.(My Touch Tunes.)

2.5 stars for the fake bacon bits topping on the potatoe akins… Ridiculous !!! The philly was good sized n tasty… decent prices, cold beer… but the bacon bits just killed it all!!!
