A good pub style restaurant/bar. Codi’s isn’t always a good stop when you want decent pub food and/or a nice beer. They have a wide selection of beers in draft, and in bottles, as well as a good house brew. I’ve had their Taco Salad, Buffalo Salad, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, and most of heir appetizers – yet to have a bad experience with the food. It’s a bit small so on busier nights it can be a tad uncomfortable in there, but it’s a great place most other times.

My boyfriend lives in Westford so this is the closest pub. We go here, get great service, decent food and a few laughs with the bartender. Overall, it’s a solid place to hang out.

The food is pretty good. And generally the service is good, especially if you’re at a table. But if you are at the bar, and the owner is bartending, he just only pays attention to his friends and regulars and you are lucky to even get acknowledged.

I visited Cody’s on a trip to Vermont for fall foliage, and I really enjoyed their McGillicuddy’s burger-the guinness flavor in combination with their secret spices made quite a tasty burger. And to top it off– they have the best chicken philly ever!

We had a very good experience here. The service was great and the food was very good. We stayed with the sheppards pie and Irish stew for dinner and were very happy with the food. Nice atmosphere and easy to get to.

Cody’s is a great place for pub food! The menu is very extensive and everything I’ve tried is always good. My personal favorites are the fried mushrooms, french dip, and nachos. The service is always fast and friendly. On warmer days, the patio is perfect for relaxing and enjoying a nice dinner. Cody’s is nearby the Essex Cinemas and always a good place for dinner before a movie.

Had dinner here tonight with some friends. Three out of the six of us ordered the veggie enchilada to split! The food was good and who knew that broccoli would taste good in Mexican food(errr, Irish pub Mexican food… not a completely bad thing!)? Our waitress was sweet but was the only one working the entire restaurant– I felt bad for her, she was swamped! I also ordered a whiskey sour which was yummy but really watered down. Regardless, I would go back– it was pretty good and cheap!

I’ve been to Cody’s a few times and had a pretty good experience each time. It’s a fairly small restaurant with a decent bar. The staff has always been very friendly and we never had a long wait for a seat or food. I enjoyed my food each time and I really liked the atmosphere. Cody’s is tucked in the corner of a nice shopping plaza and is well lit with many windows. I’ll definitely go back.

Great burger, great fries(if you’re from VT), a few local beers. Sure, the salads aren’t anything to write home about, but ordering a salad is missing the point of this place. I’m a big fan of the onion rings

The food is terrible and the service is slow… looked like there was only one waiter working the whole place. Been there a few times and always wonder why I went back… probably because we keep hoping it will get better. The rubber that they gave me in place of the meat I was supposed to get today sealed the deal, this was my last time at Cody’s.

We have been to this restaurant a few times. Food has been good. This time 3÷1÷14, we came in, waited to be seated, and waited, and waited, and waited. There was a man and son all also waiting in front of us. Neither the waitress nor the bar tender acknowledged our being there. There were tables available but every one had dirty dishes on them yet. Ok you might be understaffed at the the time, but at least acknowledge that people have come in and will get seated as soon as you can. After about 15min we gave up and walked out. Might give it one more try, but then again might not.

We sat down and then got up. Used the bathroom on the way in then didn’t want to eat anymore.

Really tasty, well-seasoned burgers. Their fried mushrooms are fantastic! The service is easy going and makes for a nice, relaxed pub atmosphere.

I think it’s high time to upgrade my review of Cody’s. I’ve been in this pub several times since my review and have really grown to love the place. The food has been consistent(my personal faves are the open faced hot sandwiches). The draughts are constantly rotating with all good brews. The staff has been very nice and on the ball every time. Shout outs to Chris and Lindsey behind the bar, they will take care of you if you stop in, guaranteed. It’s my newest favorite now.

I recently had the chance to visit Cody’s again with my wife and some friends after a long absence. At the door I was greeted politely by the bartender who showed us to a table and offered to bring a seat for our baby. The waitress arrived quickly and introduced herself and let us know the specials. While we looked at the menu I noticed the bartender wandering around the room making sure everyone was all set and pleased with their meals. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely. This may seem silly to make note of but one thing I was very pleased with was the size of the booths at Cody’s. I am not a small guy and often feel cramped at the establishments in the area. Not here though! Plenty of room! We ordered wings and nacho’s for appetizers along with our beers. The drafts were fresh and cold and the wings were excellent. The nacho’s though — those were fantastic! I’m not certain but it tasted like Cody’s must use a different type of chip then other places. Thicker and sweeter. It could have been the chili on the nacho’s that gave it the sweet taste though. I wasn’t 100% sure. What I was 100% sure of was that they were delicious! Food arrived quickly and was exactly what we ordered. Everyone agreed that the food was top notch. Cody’s may be a ‘pub’ but it was by far one of the best burgers I have had in a long time, Service throughout the entire meal was stellar and we left relaxed and stuffed. Overall I would not hesitate to recommend Cody’s if you are looking for a great place to go with your friends. The owner and staff clearly are interested in making sure customers get great food AND great service. If you stop in I highly recommend grabbing a Guinness and some Nacho’s while you wait for your meal. You won’t regret it!

I’ve gone to Cody’s countless many times and have never had a bad meal there. I tend to gravitate towards the chicken tenders as they are large and juicy and not heavily battered, so you can actually taste the chicken, not just batter. I also often get the fried chicken salad which is the same tenders sliced up over a generous bed of greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, hard boiled egg shreds and cheese. More than enough for a meal. I also very much enjoy their onion rings… large plump onions with a light batter… never greasy. If you happen to get a couple of the end rings stuck together(more like an onion disc) you will be in heaven. Decent beer selection(current area fave, Switchback, is on tap). Full bar. As some others have mentioned, the dining area is small. When the weather warms up and the back patio is open, it nearly doubles their seating. On busy nights you can expect to wait for a table, but usually not overly long. Your length of stay might get cut short if you are seated at one of the few booths… the benches are unpadded wood, and if you are not a twenty-year old, you can get pretty sore sitting there for a while.

Cody’s is a pretty good place. Want a beer or food? Stop on in! They will give you just that! Cody’s is a pretty nice local bar. The staff has always been friendly to me. I like to stop here with friends before a movie or just maybe a small get together. Its a great place for that. They offer tables and booths if you want to sit down with your own party. The staff is pretty helpful. On a non-busy day you can sit your self as you walk in. They are very quick to some say hello and take a drink order! Then they follow up with any food order. Unless you know what you want of course! The bar is very clean. They seem to always wipe down tables as people come and go. I have never sat down at a unclean table. This is a huge plus and can be hard to keep up with being a bar. The food is pretty good. I have had turkey sandwiches and cajun chicken wraps here. Both are pretty good. Food always comes out nice and hot and they are good about the time. Even on busy nights such as a Saturday or Friday. The beer section is also pretty good! They have Switchback if you like to keep it local and even offer a lot of the bigger name brands.(Sams and Bud and so on.) The prices are what you would expect being at a bar. Beer will run you $ 5.00+ and food is anywhere from $ 8.00 plus for a meal. Its fair. Good 3⁄5! Avg bar in my book. Great for the Essex standard. Go check em out!

If you’re looking for an Irish pub that always plays Irish music and only hires staff with Irish accents, this isn’t it. What you can expect is great food, a great selection of beer, wine, and scotch. The family friendly environment is casual and you can expect to see all walks of life from business men/women in for lunch or a drink with colleagues after work, couples grabbing a snack before hitting the nearby movie theater, and families getting a quick bite to eat after school or camp during the summer. The kids menu is very reasonable and even includes desert. During the warmer months you can get a seat outdoors on the patio while the kids play on the playground before their food comes. The food is good. Don’t expect anything exceptional, but it is definitely on par with most pub food if not a bit better. Soups are fantastic, and made fresh daily. Tips: — Even when busy, you can get seated pretty quick. Put your name in, grab a drink at the bar while you wait. — If the place is really busy with a line waiting, don’t be surprised if you can’t get a booth when there are just two of you. The booths are quite large and it makes sense that they want to make the best use of their small space by seating people appropriately by the size of their party.

I was completely pleasantly surprised by Cody’s. I had checked on here before, and saw that our experience may be somewhat mediocre, but it was 8:30 on a Sunday night and our options were limited. We were one of the only tables taken, with a few patrons sitting at the bar. We received great service, which given our server’s workload isn’t surprising. He was funny and for the most part delivered. We split in an order of the wings to start and asked for them medium which was perfect for my «hot» fearing friend, I could have gone hotter but even the medium had a nice kick. They were nice big wings, juicy and well-cooked. The homemade blue-cheese to come with was delicious, but we could have used more, but didn’t really want to have to pay .49c for it. We both had burgers as our main, mine came with fries and my friend upgraded to rings. Although they were not cooked properly to order — we both asked for medium rare, they were still juicy and delicious, they have a nice generous fat blend happening in these burgers. The buns were awesome, I’m a sucker for a good burger bun and these were perfect, absorbent, tasty, not too flaky or sweet like so many brioche-like options. The fries were hand-cut and tasty, but a little limp. I bet when they were busier the fries would be better. The rings were awesome, big, crispy, I’d def upgrade to them! All in all, a positive experience, especially for meeting my friend when she gets out of work on a Sunday night in Essex.
