Not gonna lie, not a fan! We were rollin’ through town for various reasons and were pretty hungry. However, I pulled the ultimate rookie mistake, which is settle for the first thing I noticed while being hungry! It’s a burger joint, a true American independent burger joint! The kind I generally prefer over a chain fast food joint. So we did have high hopes, however, they were soon deflated with an extremely long wait time and very average food. It’s almost as if our order was misplaced! People who came in well after us were continuously going up to the counter for their orders. Then when we finally received ours, it was just OK. Nothing to write home to mom about at all. That reminds me, «Must call Mom.» My Jim Dandy burger was decent sized, but very dry! Ditto, my wife said hers was too. Now, they might have just been having an off day, but it left me with the impression they were just going through the motions. You know, like what your ex girlfriend used to do when she said she loved you!

Great burgers and exceptionally friendly service. No shakes and that made me sad. I really wanted one with my burger. Oh well. At least my burger & fries kept me happy. My buddy had the green chile stew and really liked it but he’s not a person who usually likes things super hot. He said the chili had a bit of kick. They have a wider menu selection than you’d think(stuff for veg-heads too) but I’m guessing 98% of the sales are the burgers. Restrooms are clean, they have some great outdoor seating(shaded) and plenty of parking. It’s an old-school place with plenty of local options. I can’t say enough about how friendly they were. It’s someplace you really need to experience for yourself. Side Note: Someone asked me to describe this place & I said, «Think Lil Red Hamburger Hut but w/a little bigger menu». I think that’s about right. ;)

The food here is pretty good for being fast food, the Jungle Jim burger with onion rings was my usual order. But everything I’ve had here from tacos to burgers to burritos was good. So if you are in town and looking for some food, look no further.

(Over priced crap) Me and my girlfriend are from Albuquerque. We decided to try this place because we see it every time we are in the area. As we walked into the restaurant this little old lady had her hand in the pickle tray. Then she proceeded to eat the pickles she had in her hand. That should have given me a hint of what was to come. We ordered one Jim Dandy double burger and one Dandy burger both with out any extras. I also ordered a medium drink. That small amount of food was almost $ 15.00 The burgers were less than ordinary and we’re burned. Crap. Never going there again. Blake’s is so much better for A LOT less money…

We usually stop in Espanola before heading up north to go skiing/boarding. I typically get a burger and fries but this last time I got a Tewa Taco which is like a Navajo taco. It was made pretty fast and very filling I actually had to take the other half home to eat the next day. The red chili made it taste so delicious and the fry bread was crispy.

Eaten at Dandy Burger since I was a small child… 30 years later and still my favorite place to eat! The Jungle Jane is my favorite– fresh green chili, guacamole and cheese. Crispy, hot fries and beer battered onion rings. Crispy banditos are amazing as well as Tewa Taco.(Large sopapilla topped with homemade chili, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, etc.) Delicious and you will not be hungry afterward! We now stop at Dandy’s each year when we drive through Española. Makes us appreciate the authentic food as we cannot find another restaurant like it! Enjoy seeing some of the same, friendly, loyal employees!

Too much mustard. Cold bacon. Cold burger. Expect more for $ 9. Fries were good though…

Standard run of the meal burger, but the only restaurant in town that looked clean enough to eat in. Safe if you are starving!

Every time I drive through northern New Mexico I have to stop here. The bandito is to die for. I bought 20 the last time I stopped so I could have some at home. Crispy fried exterior and wonderfully melted cheese and green chiles inside. I’m thinking road trip this weekend now…

I’ve eaten here several times when passing through. Usually get breakfast — green chile, egg, potato, cheese burrito and coffee. Never been disappointed. The green chile is particularly good this year.

Not the best I’ve ever had but damn good especially for the price. Go for the green chile; It’s very good quality, and a great little spot to stop at in Espanola.

Dandy Burger is a classic hole in the wall burger joint with a New Mexican twist. I am more of a fan of there New Mexican food than there burgers. There breakfast burritos are also worth checking out.

If your ever driving thru espanola, this hole in the wall burger joint has some unreal bad ass burgers. I stop all the time when im driving up north to fish. Never had a bad burger here. Fries always hot too. also nice place to stop to take a break from driving.

Not the best burger, but definitely not the worst either. Green chili on it is a must, a good quick lunch stop :)

Daniel C., things in New Mexico are backwards? You got that wrong, pal. After all, you live in IRVING and you’re criticizing Mexican food in Española, NM? Think about that, mister… then have some green chile in your cheeseburger and tell me about getting THAT in East Texas. Love me some Dandy Burger!

Passing thru Santa Fe to ski is an adventure. Trying to find a place to eat with 7 feet of snow on road is even more of an adventure. We passed by Dandy’s on the way home from Pagoso. We partially stopped b/c we needed to use the facilities… but then when we saw the menu… we thought… hummmm. Surprisingly this joint is good fo breakfast. They cook your egg in a press… and it gives it a fluffly factor. Next is the tortillas. they are homemade. I would have given it a YAY I“M A FAN if they had homemade salsa. What kinda place has homemade tortillas and no salsa WTH… BTW…their«homemade chili» is mashed up beans. Things in NM are backwards.
