Tracy’s Salon & Day Spa

I have lived in Escondido for 16 years driving past this place for years and never knew about it until I saw a coupon for a wash cut & style for $ 20. I only needed a slight trim so why pay $ 40 with my regular girl. Tracey asked what I wanted done and I said ideally I wanted a certain look and showed her a picture. She said she could do it so rather than a trim I allowed her to try. In all my years I rarely walk out of a place thrilled with my look but I did with Tracey. I left there and went to the grocery store and 2 strangers commented on my haircut/​style. WOW that felt good. My husband loved it and said it looked like I had fuller hair. Tracey will be seeing me again. I’ll try a color next time and let you know.
Not a real fancy salon but clean and great prices.

Absolutely the worst place I have ever gotten my hair cut. Uneven!!! Don’t go here! They will give you attitude and make excuses for their crappy job. I’ve never ever written a review but this experience was terrible and I don’t want anyone else to go through the same thing!

I always get a French Tips and I’m super picky because I want to make sure they are perfect, but LUCY does a perfect job!!! She is patient and a very good nail artist! First time coming here and I will definitely be coming back to her again! Absolutely love love!!!

I’ve been getting my nails done by Lucy for a few months now and I couldn’t be happier. She’s not only really good at her trade, but she’s nice and with amazing prices. Also you can always just text her and she finds a space to squeeze you in in case you have a «nail emergency» lol.
When I first moved to Escondido I tried some other nail salons around the area and nothing comes closer to this place, the girls that do the regular pedi-​mani are also super nice.

Me and my friend went in last minute (3pm on a sunday) to get our nails done. Wanda re shaped my acrylics from squared to oval, and they look fabulous. My friend got a full set coffin shaped by Hanna and a pedicure by another very sweet talented lady who’s name I can not remember sorry. We had a good time chatting it up they where very welcoming. Definitely going back. And very fair prices $$.
PS. while we where finishing up some lady’s called past closing time (4:00 on sundays) for a wash and flatiron (for average hair type easily 30 min service) and wanda was nice enough to except the appointment. Easy enough she taught. The lady walks in around 4:20 ish with ethnic tight curly hair. Being in the industry myself that’s easily a 2 hour service. Wanda said she wouldn’t be able to take her that day because her ride was almost there and she didnt have two hours she apologized for the misunderstanding on her part. She asked if she could come back the next day when she had more time. Clearly the lady’s where NOT happy and most likely will complain to the owner. My point is… If you call last minute or past closing for a service specify how much hair you actually have or all the services you actually want. Very akwared situation. Be respectful of peoples time.

Have no idea who did my pedicure because she spoke zero English. All I know is that she did a decent job and didn’t rush it.
My problem lies with Lucy. Don’t schedule me when you’re busy and make me wait while you take your sweet time with your current client. By the time you start my services, I get rushed because your next client calls and is on their way. My nails aren’t shaped they way I requested and the paint job sucks. Next time tell me you’re busy and we can figure out another day/​time when I won’t be rushed. I hate leaving bad reviews. Maybe if I come back I can have a better experience and update my review.

Hannah did a PERFECT job on my nails and is a total sweetheart! Tracy did a great job on my new color and haircut.

I really like this place im only talking abt the nail side I’ve never had my hair done but I had pedis, manis and nails done I like Hanna for my nails I love to be trendy soo I was looking for someone that can do the nail shapes I want like almond, and most recently Lipstick shape I looooked everyyy were in esco but nothing finallyyy found the place yeahhh I will be back for my coffins next!!! I will post a pic on my lipstick nails ^.^ so you all can see

I found Tracy by chance is she is tucked away in a shopping center off of the main street Centre City Parkway. I originally went in for my nails and she offered to color my hair at the same time. If you are interested in acrylic nails, there is NO BETTER PLACE. I have tried just about every nail salon in Escondido, I like my acrylics to look thin and real. Additionally, I have never received as many compliments on my hair color as I have since Tracy started coloring my hair. Reasonably priced!
Make sure to call ahead as one time as a walk in she fit me in but I had to wait for her appointments, equating to one long visit.

the prices are good and the spa is clean, there are some gals that are good and some that aren’t, so it is hit or miss, but if you are looking for a place to go that is quick and on your way this is the place to go.

You will love having your Nails and Pedicure done by Lucy. I have been going to Lucy for numerous years, at another salon, and I am so glad I found her because she is the best. She always does an amazing, quality job. Her customer service is great too.

I’m new to Escondido and looking for a go-​to nail salon. I received a coupon book for $ 22 for a mani/​pedi at Tracy’s so I decided to give it a try — it’s also very close to my house which is convenient. I had called on Monday to make an appointment for Friday at 10am. One of my biggest pet peeves is places that make appointments, but then don’t respect your time. If I give you the courteously of calling days ahead and show up on time for my appointment then I feel the business should give my time the same respect, otherwise don’t take appointments and do walk-​in only. When I walked in at 10am there was a nail tech just starting another clients manicure. The owner greeted me, told me to pick a color and then started the water in the spa chair for my pedi and told me to relax. Never once did anyone tell me that they were running behind. After sitting there for 10 minutes I figured it out — that there was only one nail girl and she was finishing the other lady before starting me. When I reminded the owner that I had an appointment she told me yes but that they had to finish other clients first — well great I’m so glad that I came on time! I sat, with the water getting cold, in the pedicure chair for 25 minutes before she finished up the other lady — who I learned while listening to their conversation had walked in just a couple minutes before me. I found this so rude and it really put a bad taste in my mouth — but at this point I had already left work and wanted my nails done for the weekend. When the nail tech was finally ready she started my pedicure and it was very nice — she did a great massage and painted my toes well. Then things got a little sticky after that because just as she was finishing my pedicure her 11am appointment walked in. To say my manicure was rushed would be an understatement — she slammed through it. This, obviously, greatly annoyed me that only now she was concerned about being on time for appointments, but not when it was my appointment time. I had to tell her several times how I wanted my nails shaped because she was rushing through them and I wasn’t going to spend all that time at the salon and not leave happy. Even so, she polished my nails so quickly that they developed those little air bumps which I didn’t notice until I got home. So frustrating! One nice thing about this salon is their choices of polish — I was very happy to see that they offered Vinyl polish, one of my new favorites that I had trouble finding previously in Escondido. I have mixed feelings about the whole experience, the time issue was annoying but my pedicure looks good. I may try them again but I definitely won’t make an appointment!

The Gray is gone, and my color is perfect, whoo hoo! This review is for a Hair color and cut. Recently searched for a salon that was affordable and came across Tracy’s on Unilocal.I called and talked to Tracy and set an appointment. She has a slight accent, but speaks perfectly fluent English and is completely understandable. No language barrier, she immigrated from Vietnam a long time ago. I explained to Tracy what I wanted with my color and cut and she came through. She combined a few colors to get the shade I wanted, she made sure she carefully covered the gray, by reapplying color a few times in the resistant areas and after processing the new growth freshened the hair all over for a few minutes and rinsed and shampooed my hair. She gave me just what I asked for in my hair cut and took off the right amount of length and did a little layering for height. She blew out my naturally wavy hair sleek and straight and it looked excellent.
The service was great, she has a great personalty, she worked efficiently and I was very happy with the service and the results. Tracy also made sure to protect my skin from the tint and I paid much less then the salons around town, along Grand Av, and other higher end places. What I want are professional results and a fair deal, not paying more because I’m using a salon in a high rent district.
If you want good results, you’re not picky about being in a über fashionable salon and want to pay a much more reasonable fee try Tracy.

So my friend and I decided to go have manicures & pedicures at this place and it was a totally horrible experience the pedicure was mediocre the manicures were even worse we paid for shellac nails (gel nails) and they looked horrible but I didn’t want to be rude and say that she sucked but I told her why did the color look faded? She said she went for a «natural» look withought asking and then we went home and went to sleep woke up the next day and 4 of the nails had peeled of and the others were chipped my friends nails were cracked and uneven so she went back and they were soo rude to her and the coudnt fix it so they did them again and they still looked like crap! As for mine I took it as a loss and I am taking it as a learning experience also Tracy the owner was there and is Rude as hell!!! Never go here they really suck! ;/

Came in for a quick trim since I was passing thru. I actually scheduled an appointment for 10a for a trim and blowout since I didn’t want to be late for Sunday Brunch date.
Tracy’s is located in a strip mall with ample parking. As I walked in, 4 Asian people on a laptop became silent and looked up at me. I indicated that I had an appointment and then I was led to a chair.
I wanted my usual — trim, keep the length, layers, side swept bangs. I was then asked if I wanted a wash. (Isn’t that a given?!)
Total time spent for a wash, trim and blowout was 27mins. That was the fastest hair appointment I’ve ever had.
Luckily, this was only a trim. What I wasn’t too thrilled about is the fact that my layers weren’t measured. Usually my stylist takes the time to measure out my layers to ensure evenness on all sides. This wasn’t done.

I went in for a haircut & wax. Tracy performed both the services for me.
Waxing:
Quick hands! totally pain free experience. My hair was kinda short. She was unable to get all of them. She asked me to come back in a week for a FREE touch-​up!!! The rates are pretty good too!
Haircut:
Much much better than the $ 80 spa I visited. Tracy listens to you, she does not intimidate you. She also did a fab. job with my hair! I got quite some compliments at work =)

Finally! A place where I can get a decent pedicure without being charged an inflated price for mediocre service.
Tracy’s had to close for a bit because of fire in the strip mall and her business was affected with some of the damage. I had no idea it existed until I got a «Grand Re-​Opening» flier in the mail. I figured I would give this place a shot since every other place has not cut it.
A spa pedicure cost $ 14 and for $ 5 more, you can get a little massage on your legs and feet. My esthetician (Amy, I believe) was good with the rubdown. Nice and firm on the feet.
Check out this place. It is in the strip mall with the Carl’s Jr. and Arriero’s Mexican Food. Walk-​ins welcome! They do hair, nails, and facials!
