The Training Source offers Infant, Child and Adult CPR, AED, First Aid and Preventive Health Practices for Child Care Settings. Classes are offered in N. County, Escondido and Sharp Memorial Hospital, San Diego.

Classes are State of California, EMSA certified for licensed Child Care, Adult Care, Group Homes and Adoptive/​Foster Parents. However, Nannies, Teen Babysitters, Parents & Grandparents are encouraged to attend. Everyone is welcome!

Onsite private classes available for groups of 6 or more.

History

Established in 1996.

The Training Source has offered classes in San Diego for almost 20 years. Classes have been offered at Palomar College, MAAC Head Start, YMCA Childcare Resource Service and many preschools and workplace locations throughout San Diego County. Currently, classes are offered at Sharp Memorial Hospital and at the Escondido Community Child Development Centers.

Catherine H.

Business Owner

My name is Catherine Hayes-​Hicks and I am a teacher-​credentialed and California-​certified Health Educator. I worked for almost six years as a Program Director and Instructor Trainer with the American Red Cross and then for the YMCA Child Care Resource Service. I established the Training Source in 1996 to meet the demand for AB243 training requirements for licensed child care.

My goal is to make sure that everyone who attends my classes will feel confident to respond to a CPR or first aid emergency. The Preventive Health & Safety Practices for licensed Child Care focuses on the Prevention of Childhood Injuries and Illness in the home, workplace and child care setting. In January, I will be teaching the added hour of Child Nutrition for this class.
