The Gadget Fairy

Do not go to this hatchet hack fairy. I took my iPad 64g in, for what was supposed to be a simple cracked glass replacement. The repair shouldn’t have taken no more than a few hours. Instead the repair ordeal lasted 9 days. I use it for everything so, needless to say, it was an incredible interruption. Furthermore, her final, shoddy hack-​job repair failed after only two weeks as the glass began lifting on the upper portion of my screen rendering my iPad essentially as junk. None of the buttons or tabs would work. I would have to turn it upside down to do functions!
Initially, she ‘accidentally’ cut the camera cord on my $ 800 iPad. I had to wait NINE DAYS for her to finally get the replacement cable. She said she could get it by the next morning. She proffered excuse after excuse, day after day, and my 3-​hour repair turned into 9-​day ordeal. Needless to say, when I finally got my iPad back, I couldn’t wait to get her completely out of my life.
Unfortunately, after less than two weeks of her returning my iPad to me, with her replacement glass, it actually started lifting away from my iPad!
Not wanting anything to do with her, or for her to get anywhere NEAR my iPad again, I took my iPad to another repair place. It was fixed beautifully and meticulously. It has worked wonderfully ever since.
The company that fixed Diane’s shitty hack job documented everything. Diane used SUPERGLUE around the entire perimeter of the glass and she didn’t even clean up the shattered, shards of glass from when I originally broke it.
If you value your electronic devices – keep them far away from her.
Speaking of electronics — she is operating illegally. Any appliance or electronic repair company needs to be licensed with the Bureau of Electronic and Appliance Repair (BEAR). She is not licensed. Additionally, if she damages your devices, you have zero recourse because she has no address. Even her business card is void of her last name or a business address. Stay far away from Diane the Hatchet Fairy.

The Gadget Fairy is hands down the best phone repair I have used. Her prices are better than the kiosks at the mall, she is mobile and drives to you and she will give great advice or tell you the phone is not worth fixing. We have used her more times than I would like to admit for the kid’s phones and she has been very fair with price and service.

I used the Gadget Fairy to repair my son’s iPhone 5. The service was so fast I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t even think the phone could be repaired! The price was very reasonable and the customer service was awesome! I would defiantly use them again and recommend them to everyone needing their phone repaired. I have read some of the other reviews and I just have to say that there are some people who are never satisfied and just want to complain! Don’t let those type of people turn you away from a great business. The Gadget Fairy is a great company!

UPDATE: I did get back in touch with her requesting her screen distributor and full name. and came back half an hour and fixed the phone only because she caused additional damage to my phone. I appreciate her coming back and repairing her damage, but I don’t think I will be coming back to her.
Worst service ever. Came to my residence to fix my husbands phone. she «fixed» it and a week later my husband put his phone down, the corner of the iphone tapped something on the table and the entire screen cracked. I let it go for a week until the crack began getting worse and the screen eventually went out. She did say there was a warranty on the screen she installed, so I called her back and she came the next day, which was today. I told her what happened and she continued to accuse me of lying to her face and she said word for word «this is what happens when you drop your phone.» and she continued to grab the phone from my hand and hit it multiple times with the tip of her car key, then say she wasnt going to do anything about the damage SHE caused to the phone and left. WORST SERVICE EVER. Who does that!!!

Yep… have used the Gadget Fairy more than once … so convenient, so nice and polite … FANTASTIC! I hope to not use them again because that would mean I broke my iPhone screen … but if I do break my iPhone screen I will for sure call Gadget Fairy!

Call Diane I called her today regarding and IPhone 6 repair and she shared all the options that I had as well as information that most businesses would most likely would keep to themselves. If I have any gadgets get the hiccups in the future I’ll be giving Diane a call! Thank you so much

So I gave Gadget Fairy a 4 because I never give 5 stars to any business because where is the room for improvement? (We are all human and no one is perfect.)
In so many words I was impressed with her and appreciated her honesty. I didn’t end up using Gadget Fairy because she was over the top honest with me. She said it was going to be incredibly expensive for her to repair my samsung galaxy s 5 cracked screen and that I should go with Isquad because they have the expensive equipment she couldn’t justify purchasing. Who can blame her? $ 15,000, who has that kind of money to purchase equipment when you are self employed? I appreciated the referral, I’m going to make it a point to tell Isquad that I was referred to them by her. In fact I was referred to her by 2 (random) friends and not the internet. I think that speaks volumes to her quality of work, not to mention her candid honesty she shared with me today.

I have used the Gadget Fairy 3 times now. Extremely competent, friendly, and fair prices. I have used other companies around town, not nearly as professional or skilled. I won’t use anyone else!

I called around to a few other places but no one could beat Diane’s prices and she comes to you!
Less than 24 hours after I broke my phone Diane came to my house and repaired my smashed iphone 5 screen in less than 30 minutes. I was worried because not only was the screen a mess, but the phone itself seemed to be broken; no picture, no sound, but Diane fixed it all! She even recommended what case I buy to prevent future accidents! Highly recommended!

Diane called me back right away, came within a few hours, my phone turned out looking brand new, and she was really nice. The price was better than 2 other local repair stores in Vista which I would have had to taken my own time to travel to and wait. Highly recommended. If I need someone again I will be calling The Gadget Fairy for sure! 5 stars no doubt.

Loved Diane! She replaced two cracked screens on my kids’ Iphone 4s and a cracked screen on a Ipod. Her prices are half of what it would have costed me to use my insurance from Verizon or repair services from the mall. The best thing about it was she was mobile, she came to my house and her availability and quick repair can not be matched. I will certainly use her again and highly recommend her to others for repairs.

Diane knows her stuff! She comes to your door and takes your device to her most awesome van (epic is more like it). That’s where the magic happens. Diane is quick, efficient, and tests to make sure all is in working order once she’s finished. She’s very personable and professional. If I ever need another device fixed, I am calling Diane without a doubt! Thank you, Diane.

She does exist! I’m with the Gadget Fairy (Diane) getting my a 5s phone fixed! 30 minutes… as if my kid never dropped it. Diane is very personable and the best part… she will drive to you. Great pricing and definitely will refer to anyone!

Diane is THE BEST! Last year she replaced my cracked screen on my iphone 5 and the cracked back glass on my wife’s iphone 4. Yesterday she replaced the bad battery in my iphone 5 and she was at least 40% cheaper than anywhere else. Plus the fact that she came to my house and did it in her work van in about 5 minutes made it even better! I will never, ever use the services of anyone OTHER than The Gadget Fairy for any iphone or ipad needs!
She has a customer for life in me!
The fact that she doesn’t charge any sort of fee for coming to you, costs less than anyone else and will do it the same day if possible should be reason enough for anyone! Give her a shot, you won’t be sorry!

She came to meet me in the Target parking lot and fixed the screen on my iPhone 5s in minutes while I did some brief shopping with the family.
She was more affordable than everyone else I called.
She went above and beyond, cleaning out the charger port so my phone would charge better. It really made a difference and she taught me how to do it myself in the future. I guess it was full of lint from my pocket.
She was super nice.
I even tipped her $ 10. nothing beats amazing service. Hard to find great people and services sometimes.
She’s got a customer for life in me. well… hopefully no more broken screens. But if so, I know who to call.

Diane was so great. She drives to you and she knows exactly what she is doing. She fixed my completely shattered screen of my 5s and it was good as new in less than 30 minutes. Her prices were the cheapest I found. Thank you Gadget Fairy your a lifesaver.

The Gadget Fairy is awesome! I got my phone a little wet and I was 2 months away from a upgrade so I was hoping I could get it fixed. She came to my house and looked at it in her van and even though she couldn’t fix it because I turned it on while it was still wet, she didn’t charge me. In this day and age this is very rare. I appreciate her trying and professional courtesy. She rocks!

My son broke his iPhone 5s, I happen to run into Diane from The Gadget Fairy while out this morning and she was at my house in her mobile office by 4 the same afternoon. His phone that we thought was ruined, was fixed within 30 minutes. She was friendly, efficient and 150% convenient!

On a business trip I cracked my ipad. It was «repaired» by another place (see review). It still did not work. Found Diane the Gadget Fairy at our local San Marcos Farmers Market which is on Wednesday afternoons. She completely redid the «repair» that was done and now my ipad looks and functions like new. She had to replace the glass/​digitizer again which is $ 150. She also found that there was a missing piece, and the antenna was broken. This was included AND she gave me back the damaged parts.
She has a background in engineering and really will take the time AND be VERY honest and upfront about what is needed. Mobile truck so she can come to you with her whole «office/​repair center». She is in San Marcos on Wednesdays and I believe another market on another day. This is exactly the kind of person you want to repair it vs some young kid who wont really listen and really doesnt know what they are doing.
