Why attend an online school?

Students who attend Classical Academy Online have the flexibility of learning at their own pace while experiencing all that a vibrant high school campus life has to offer; sports, theater, PEPP rallies, ASB, dances, and more! This hybrid online program incorporates the best of The Classical Academies independent study program and award winning online curriculum being offered through Edgenuity, formerly Education 2020 and Florida Virtual School’s BrainHoney. Through a partnership with teachers, students, and parents, students will have access to college prep (a-​g) and advanced placement (AP) curriculum in a virtual environment. Students will have direct access to a subject-​area credentialed teacher in weekly Collaboratives and quarterly Forums as well as through web conferencing and by telephone.

History

Established in 2013.

Classical Academy Online is a part of The Classical Academy organization of award-​winning, tuition free schools. It was launched in 2013 to provide students with even greater flexibility in their education. The Escondido Cyber Café location allows students to collaborate, access tutors, study, and learn in a group setting. Classical Academy Online allows students to learn any time, any place, and any pace.

Business Owner

Lesley Clifton, Director of Online Learning, has taught and written curriculum for preschool through twelfth grade. She earned her B.S. in Music and History, a certificate in Humanities, a multiple, single-​subject, and administrative credential, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, and is currently working on her EdD in Educational Technology. She has had the privilege of leading a task force of K-​12 educators interested in pursuing online educational options for students. She designed Classical Academy Online, a 7 – 12 online program, and enjoys collaborating with staff, students, and parents.
