Absolute joke of a bank. If I travel anywhere they shut off my card, without a phone call. Even if I tell them I’m traveling but somehow let large purchases go through to South America. Really? Bank is ghetto and lines are long. Withdrawing my money and going back to navy federal. Screw this joke of a bank.

i hate going in there, every time i go dogs here, dogs there!!! it is not petco, it is a banking establishment!!! they are not highly trained service dogs, but peoples pets. dogs hate me, i have been bitten «8» times in my life by dogs!!! that is why i do not go into petco!!! the sdccu does not care for my safety, or that of others, as well as the dogs safety. i pity the dog that bites me while i am trying to do my banking at sdccu. i am disabled and cannot move as quickly as i did in my youth, at least it will be on video. i am sure it will go viral.

I had an account within years ago.
Due to unfortunate circumstances I had to file for bankruptcy I gave them the car back they got to keep the payments I made always I time and they resold the car. It was a total win for them flash forward 8 years I’m doing well and go to be added on to my wife’s account and I am told” that I can never open or be on any account at SDCCU until I pay them back for the car I returned to them you know the one they resold. I am truly disappointed they have lost our business. Also since when do you do a credit check to add a spouse to any account?

Went in yesterday to open a new account and had the experience of working with Sophia who has the title of a Financial Service Representative. She could use more training as she didn’t even know the different types of credit checks (hard vs soft inquiry). Rather than say «I don’t know, let me check on the answer for you,» she tried to make something up off the top of her head. It was really embarrassing.

Been banking with them for a while now. I had some problems with them kicking me off my online banking access for 3 months but got that resolved, and things have been smoother since then.

I moved my accounts over from a big bank and I have never been happier. If I need to go into the bank, service is fast and friendly. I don’t just feel like a number here. A walk up atm would be nice but I have been using their new app to make deposits which is wonderfully convienient and a time saver. I found the bill pay system much better then my previous bank as well.

I might as well have been doing business with Bank of America! In my opinion, SDCCC has lost sight of their mission and is no better than any big bank.
The reason that I feel this way was because I joined the credit union specifically because I wanted to bank with an organization that was supposed to have it’s member’s interest at heart as opposed to one that was bureaucratic and arbitrary.
Having had my real estate and mortgage banking business go belly up about 3.5 years ago, I’ve worked very hard to reestablish my credit after having been forced into bankruptcy.
To that end I’ve taken out six share secured loans (at credit unions in my home town and where I went back to school at –btw, since the bk I’ve graduated with an associates degree in a technical field) and paid them off on time. I’ve also opened three charge card accounts where I used the cards, then paid each of them off (with 100% on time payments). In addition, I’ve paid my rent and utilities on time since before the bankruptcy.
I had less than $ 1000.00 in consumer debt that I wanted to refinance secured by a 2007 automobile (worth about $ 11,000wholesale — I’ve had it appraised). I’m gainfully employed and my debt service ratios were 23% and 27% with the loan.
Per FHA guild lines, I would be eligible to buy a home if I wanted with my middle credit score above 700.
Yet, SDCCU turned me down! They offered no real appeals process, so I took my business down the street to Navy Federal Credit Union (did I mention that I’m also a Vet?) and they approved the loan as a signature loan (not even requiring the car as collateral!) Needless to say, I’ve moved my accounts and would recommend anybody else to do so also!
