Rheumatology Center of San Diego started in 2013 when Dr Tania Rivera, along with her family, moved from Princeton, NJ to sunny California.

Tania R.

Dr Tania L Rivera Completed medical school at the Universidad de Concepcion, Chile, completed residency in Internal Medicine at Universidad de Chile, in Santiago de Chile, and also at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.

Dr Rivera received her Rheumatology Fellowship training at the New York University Hospital for Joint Disease.

She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.

Prior to moving to San Diego, Dr Rivera was involved in rheumatology research. Of her many interests in rheumatology, Dr Rivera’s research focused on lupus nephritis, and lupus and pregnancy. She worked for years with Dr Jill Buyon in the Research Registry for Neonatal Lupus. This registry was established to investigate the origin of neonatal lupus and to help in the counseling of mothers of children with neonatal lupus.

Dr Rivera’s interest in osteoporosis have made her research for the newest medicines available in the market, and future medicines which are still under investigation.
