Pizza Amore

This place is hit or miss. I ordered a 3 topping one time and asked if extra cheese could be one of the toppings, they said sure. so I got extra cheese and 2 toppings. When I got my pizza there was hardly any cheese let alone extra. I talked to the person at the front and said «there really isn’t any cheese and I actually asked for extra.» the person in charge said we can give cheese away it’s not free, I said I know that’s why I used it as a topping, then he said you can’t do that. so why did I get 2 toppings then, when I paid for 3. then he said we can’t do that. so I just said ok.
So all I have to say is for maybe 50cents of extra cheese this guy has lost a costumer. totally worth it. I think there pizza is actually pretty good. but that was unacceptable. ill prob go back in a year or so, but I can’t support bad customer service!

Your better off eating the box the pizza comes in. Very bland tasteless pizza.
Thought I’d give this place a try since it rated 4 stars on Unilocal.
Never again. Place is right next door to a Head shop, can be the only reason people come to eat here.

I’ve always liked the pizza here. I usually just come in for a slice or two seeing as how my kids are grown and I don’t have a big family to feed anymore. I tried the lasagna this evening and wasn’t a fan. Tasted like it was from a box. Turns out it was marinara sauce instead of meat sauce. I brought it back and the owner apologized and had no problem refunding my money. I just swapped out for some pizza and left a happy customer.

Wonderful pizza dinner. Great family meal. The sauce on the pizza was amazing. The pasta was super good. My family enjoyed every bite. Fresh salad very healthy. Thanks for cooking dinner!

Pizza is very fresh seems East Coast style. Sauce has a little too much oregano but besides that it is great pizza. Awesome customer service. Always comes super quick.

Pizza is really really good. I love the cheese and the crust is very crispy. Delivery was fast. A bit pricy though.

Best pizza in Escondido. Cooked to perfection every time. When people come from outta town, always get pizza from here. Friendly staff and delivery guy. Always have good deals. Delicious.

I bought some carryout pizza here when I was helping my buddies move. Found this place on Unilocal and thought it would be the answer. When one moves, ALL food tastes good and a good pizza should taste REALLY good. The two pizzas we ordered were OK but not as good as we expected. If we had not spent all day moving stuff around, I am wondering if I would still be giving them four stars… so for my next pizza outing I think I will try another local private pizza shop and see if I can find a solid five-​star pizza joint in the area.

This is literally the WORST pizza I have EVER had. The crust was bland and tasteless and there was hardly any toppings. No flavor at all. The worst. I have lived in Escondido my whole life and has wondering why I’ve never tried this pizza before… NOW I KNOW. GROSS.

The owner is easy to talk to, very friendly but most importantly makes the old new York fashioned way. Truly a gem in old Escondido. I just had the slice, my way. Not premade.

I have been eating at Pizza Amore for over 10 years. Very good, classic pizza. Service is always great, take out or delivery. Try the greek if you are looking for something different. Excellent.

Very good pizza. Good crust, prepared well. The 28″ feeds a few very well.
Since leaving the East Coast, have been on a quest to find authentic pizza in CA, and this is just about there. And with a stromboli as an option, they really have my vote!

Just moved to the area and wanted delivery pizza. Found Pizza Amore. What a great find pizza was delish. Found my go to pizza delivery.

After reading Mounir’s remarks, I gave him a call. I recognized his voice as the person from whom we ordered our three pizzas.
I stand by my honest and accurate review. Our pizzas were delivered to us congealed and barely lukewarm. His driver did hold another customer’s pizza sideways and was reluctant to help us carry our sizeable order to my friend’s front door. I had to ask his help and to explain why we needed his help in carrying the pizzas to get him to help us carry our sizeable order.
The total price of our order, as quoted to me over the phone by Mounir, himself, was $ 71.38. I simply added several dollars onto this price (as a tip for the driver)…not expecting nor asking for coinage change.
Mounir seems like a nice man and so too did his driver. I wish neither him nor his driver any harm. But the amount of coin change had nothing to do with this review. What matters is that his pizzas should arrive at least warm and his driver needs to deliver to the door. He needs also to never hold a pizza on its side.

I’ve had experience on both dine in and delivery, as for dining in, the place is nice and cozy, you can see where the pizzas are made, the wait time for us was only 5 minutes, we had a medium pepperoni with jalapeños, it was super hot and fresh out the oven.
as for delivery, i live 3 miles away and the pizza made it to my door within 25 minutes, it was fast and the pizzas was burning hot, i loved it. And the delivery guy was friendly and very laid back.

This is definitely my favorite place to pick up a pizza in my new neighborhood. Every time we order from here, we’re happy… the pizza here is always delicious! Perfect, thick crust, tangy sauce, and perfect sauce to cheese ratio, never too greasy, but greasy enough so that you know it’s good pizza. I like that it’s family owned, I always get pretty good service, and you really can’t beat the price here — you can get a good sized pizza with toppings for less than $ 15, and if you have an army you’d like to feed, get their biggest size — it’s HUGE! (Tip — ask them to cut it in squares to feed more people.)
It can get hot in there and there’s not much of an ambience, so stick to picking up or getting delivery. But I definitely recommend Pizza Amore!

Holy giant pizza batman!
I had a slew of boys from SOS Entertainment helping out with the prep and production for an event last week and having grown up with brothers, I know my duty. Feed them.
A quick Unilocal search found the nearest pizza place with a good rating and supposed «giant» pizzas-​I ordered two, and I should have listened on the phone when he said I probably ordered too much. Only one pizza? There’s no way it was going to be that big right?
Wrong!
I had to put down the seats in my car and put this pizza in through the trunk it was so huge! I’m not kidding. The owner, a lovely gentleman-​the owner, I believe, even had to help me arrange it and get it out the door!
Beyond the sheer monstrous size, it was also delicious and affordable, about 60 bucks for 2 of them and while I know you’re thinking 30 bucks per pizza?! when you see it you’ll feel like it’s a steal.
We ordered a veggie and a meat lovers-​to each their own ;)

Pizza was great but service could be better. I paid full price on a large pizza and wings only to find out that exact combo was actually one of their specials and about 7 dollars cheaper. I guess I should have asked but it would have been nice if the cashier/​cook informed me before he took my money. Lesson learned I guess.

I used to come in here when I was a kid most every chance I could get my dad to take me. The place has changed a bit in décor and menu choices… but I was glad to see that the Pizza has not. We ordered the simple $ 5 pizza to go… and I gotta say, with all the bargain pizza places popping up this was by far the best. The pizza was actually very tasty!
